I wondered the same thing. If this is over weed I hate NASCAR so much and I suspect it was. If you don't think drugs are a part of NASCAR you've never been to the infield during a race. It's not a very big part but people know what goes on. At least that's how it was in 80's-00's.

Zero tolerance, fine rules are rules. But if it is only weed, that's completely different than supporting an opiate or adderall (pill) addiction. This guy had to have been on a script he wasn't prescribed, for pharmaceuticals that is. If it was weed he would have said it. Furthermore, all that talent to be able to win a championship and innovate outside(cheat) the rule book, and didn't think to have to clean urine sample available with some heating pads in the glove box.

They never released that info, but I’m willing to bet it was most likely coke or unprescribed Adderall/Ritalin.
I seriously doubt it was weed. If it was, NASCAR is a POS for making him go through the bad publicity, and to rehab.

What a stupid comment. A drug addict is no different than an addict of anything, just a different stigma. Compassion doesn't cost anything, ya' know.
