Uk whypipo who aren’t rich and privileged are some of the most incest made families bloodlines. Hence why he kept that cake. Accounting for inflation, 8 pounds then is about 13-15 (sources vary) pounds now. So relatively speaking, you’re still paying the same price you would in 2003, just that the amount of pounds used has increased.

    Reminds me of last year when I unboxed my parent's wedding gazebo cake topper that had been sealed in storage for 21 years. The wedding staff had boxed the gazebo back up in the foam case without cleaning the vanilla cake off. So it had cake frosting still slathered all over the gazebo that had since turned this diarrhea brown. But surprisingly.....it didn't smell rotten at all. It still smelled like vanilla cake. (Then again, my mom said their cake wasn't the best tasting and was very artificial and full of preservatives so that's probably why....)
    Why it also surprised me was because it had been stored in a non temperature controlled garage throughout the ENTIRE time it was sealed away, so the fact that it still smelled good after being subjected to stifling hot and freezing temperatures since before I was even born is beyond me.

    • @pocarski
      @pocarski ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Vanilla flavor is actually a relatively simple chemical that doesn't decompose nearly as easily as all the other organic stuff, and microbes don't tend to digest it either. I'm not surprised it stayed there untouched for all that time

    • @richardcutts196
      @richardcutts196 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@brennynNot always, there seems to be two outcomes either the mold as you said or if you are lucky it slowly gets dryer and remains edible for a long time. For some reason the more expensive the bread the more likely it goes moldy and too quickly as well. I've bought fresh bread and a week later it's gone moldy but also bought the cheap stuff and found an unfinished part of a loaf still good a couple of weeks later.

    Around the time this was out, we still as a family used to go to the local Tesco each Friday night so I'd see the box for this cake every once in a while at that time. The fact that I remember that so vividly and enough time has gone by that I can see it again covered on a TH-cam video and its absolutely rotted from the inside feels like a metaphor for a lot of 2000's things, I'm sure. Not necessarily the actual movie this is a tie-in to, that's still quite fun, but I mean lots of other things...heck, wonder if you'd see a rotting cake if you sliced into modern ITV 'cause that too's 20 years out-of-date, eh? ;D Anyway, that sure was a video, thanks Ashens~
