I have trouble with the swr on my Dx Commander all band vertical since I put it up. Going to take it down and put the 40 and 20 only bands up and see if I can get one band acceptable then the other as far as swr is concerned. Starting over from scratch and going to try one band at a time till I get it figured out. Mine stays up all year around in rain, deep snow and summer high temps. Just need to take it down and check all the wires connections once in awhile.
Yes I tend to run mine with just the two bands on it, play with the 20 first, as you will need to cut it back a little once you have put the 40 on, I found that cutting the 40 to get the best SWR ( around 1.8:1) with the 20 in place and the SWR on 20 would rise, so cutting it shorter would bring both the SWR down to around 1.2-1.4 :1. Good luck... :)
Great Job of the DXC lite , i have been thinking for a while to get one but when initially when came out with the triangle plates was less bands. But now it looks ideal and i was thinking if take the plunge to go for 40m linear loaded and i belive you can get a tune on 10? 20 and 17m . Completly forgot that these get past the planning restrictions in the uk ! ideal if have the council complaining . 73 , Matt 2E0FGX
Another great video. I love designing and building antennas myself, too! What are your thoughts regarding the folded design of the dxc vs. a base loaded vertical? I know this design will load, but isn't there a cancelation when the radiating element is run parallel to itself? I'm wondering how the losses of this vertical design compare to the losses in an inductive base-loaded vertical like a silver bullet. I know that almost any antenna is a compromise...I wonder which design performs "better" in a real-world scenario on the longer-wavelength bands.

Not a great deal between them but the DX Commander version is easier to make and gives better harmonics
