Very impressive! Just a good timing as I am sloowly building panels and I am also in the many iterations of my Korry design, which is simplier as I am not using PCB. Now that I am working on the Overhead Korry with two lights, I think the PCB path is the sound choice. Thank you very much for your tips!
Hi, this video series is a blessing from God, thank you so much! Is there any way you could include the excel sheet with all of the switch covers? Thank You!
@@hobbytechgearID69 Thank you, really appreciate it. Also, if you don't mind, I'm having real trouble finding a non-rotating toggle switch with a long shaft like yours do. Is there any way you could link the ones you purchased?
Not sure where you could buy international, Ive bought locally with a brand of "Saiko" the non rotating shaft has a pin in the screwhead of the switch.
Sure. 1. Draw a box outline of the panel in corel, 2. Put the outline as first to laser hide the engraved title or delete first 3. Put a thick material as base to draw the outline using laser with low power, 4. Re activate the layer to be engraved or undo deletion, 5. Select the outline as white color so wont be engraved but its still there so engrave letter or marking wont move 6. Start engraving using the right power setting. Ussually test first to find the rihht setting for your machine. Mot too deep but not too shallow.
Thank You for sharing the Google drive files so quickly! Didn't You say in the video, that You also would share the Excel sheet with the list of knobs? I cannot find it.
Can gou tell me what printer. Is it laser cutting machine? Or 3d printer? For laser cutting Im using generic chinese made 40w power. While for 3d printer fillament base im using Prusa Mk3 and for resin im using anycubic the first generation
Good afternoon, I have a question, what color do you use for the overhad panel? So what colors cod because you just said gray. I would be very happy to receive an answer ☺️😁
Ref is RAL7031 blue gray its dificult to find color. I got the right paint color but for marine paint with different thinner solvent. So I bring to paint shop to mix the color as closed as possible for the car paint thinner compatible. The blue in several location is RAL 5017
3:25 I'm curious to know how you solve the rotating shaft problem of these switches. These handles sometimes turn (twist) during use, so your "paddle" mod handle will "turn" like the landing lights, especially if your finger is not at the center of the paddle, if you know what I mean. Thanks in advance.
Good catch Im using non rotating switch type the one that Ive shown in the video that I grind the toggle handle is non rotating type. The shorter shaft do also non rotating but too short. So I shop around again till I find luckily its available locally in my country (Indoenesia) not sure who import it, but I think you could find internationally pretty easy
@@hobbytechgearID69 Thank you so much I appreciate your quick feedback! Where were you when I started this journey not long ago? LOL!! You have all that I needed to know. I cannot thank you enough! @@hobbytechgearID69 Another question: Is there a gap (space) between 2nd layer and 3rd layer? I understand the LEDs are mounted on the 3rd layer . Thanks
No gap but on 2nd acrylic should be a cut out with the length of led strip as long as it can be before close to another hole or cutout for switch Im using led strip warm white or orang can do, the width of the cutout has to be adjusted to the width of the led strip.
Hello. Thanks for the video! :) Did you connect the LED strip light directly to the potentiometer for the backlight. I am currently in the process of building my overhead. Would I need a dimmer
Oh yes forgot to mentioned im using a pwm or led dimmer actually for overhead im using quite powerful dimmer you could calculate from total current consumption for approximation
You cant if you calculate current is quite significant the pot would just unable sustained or you need big pot which is not realistic and it wont work at certain voltage
Actually the cost of dimmer is not so much. And i use dual gang pot for the dimmer replacing the single gang pot. And connect the other pot to the adc if you need to adjust in the seem lighting through mobiflight or the software
Hi Hobby Tech Gear, I've been watching your build videos to assist in planning my own build. What did you use to cut the holes in the acrylic sheets for your overhead panels? Cheers.
As mentioned in one of the build Im using co2 laser cutting machine, I bought a cheap one but very difficult to fine tune but once you got it right its sharp. It also can cut up to 5mm but wiith several pass. And used for engraving too
You could choose 120 led per meter or much denser 240 led per meter. Mine I think 120 led per meter for warm white, but if you use orange color you could try 240 led per meter for brighter color
For toggle switch, I don't know where do you live but you could just search in aliexpress, or other online shop it's a common toggle switch. Either 2 Position ON and OFF and also 3 position toggle ON - OFF - ON
