Jorge Santana, guitarist & musician who gained fame throughout the world with his band, MALO, since the early 1970’s. He died in May 14, 2020 at a youthful age of 68. He was the younger brother of Carlos Santana. Rest In Peace my brother!🙏🎸🎺🎷
At 71, I got this LP, the week it came out, way back. This has got to be my favorite song, of course, but the whole LP was great. Played it other day as well as watching today. I realize a new post. I think I posted before. It’s too great
This song brings back the most precious memories in my life. Every Sunday my family would go to my grandma's house to spend the day with each other, huge backyard where my cousins and I had a blast playing while our TIa's and Tio's play cards and barbecuing while listening to oldies til it was time to go home. Malo, War, Average White Band, Aaron Neville, Brenda and the Tabulations, Paul Anka and you get the picture. 🎶❤🍻
May you live you live forever! God bless you! I pray you have joy! Any adversity or trauma from your past is cease! I pray to grow older than you! Love your friend that just turned 30!

My 70s girlfriend in high school, college sweetheart, wife, and mother of our five children, and now ten grandchildren. We slow danced to this song. Your lovely fragrance, kiss and soft skin. You are now home again in heaven. Love you my suavecito.
60's and 70's. Don't forget when Carlos appeared in Woodstock in August 1969 and introduced the world to this wonderful Latin genre. I'm 75 and still remember these years as the best and most creative for all genres of music.
I like that the live version here sounds very much like the recording. Smooth, wonderful sounds, and those that can play an instrument. Nothing computerized here, nothing added, simply pure sounds. Wonderful days they were.
Didn't last but 12 yrs cuz my Son was working out of town and came home to an arranged wedding. Can u imagine the news he was dealt?? It wasn't even spoken of till he called me to say that he was getting married as a Mom I figured in a Year but in less then a week!!!! Who does that???
I have this song on a CD is my 200 CD jukebox I bought back in the 90s. I comes up every once in a while. I heard it on the radio today on the way to work (oldies station). Still sounds great today. RIP Jorge. (Jan Griffiths).
I wish Malo had more Top-40 hits than just this one, but “Suavecito” is certainly one for the ages. This was a real band making music, way long before computer technology came along in the recording studios.
Agreed. Hate to say, but technology really really has been detrimental to society and music, especially. People had to actually make not only an effort to learning to play an instrument but get their sound out. Phones and social media make it easy to even those who are naturally talented, they just want to make put out a video of them singing on tiktok, instead of joining groups and trying to make it or get their sound out.
One of the top ten songs of all time. I've owned it on 45, LP, 8 track, cassette, cd, etc. Never got to see them live to my regret. Was too young. Seems like I was around 5 years old when I saw them on American bandstand (?) and was mesmerized. How this didn't make it to number one I'll never know.
Feeling nostalgic for sultry summer nights, with this playing on a transistor radio, slow dancing and thinking it couldn't get any better than that moment...........
I feel the same way! Are you sure you weren’t reading my mind? lol This song always makes me smile and brings back memories of the good old days as a teenager! I loved this song back then and I love it even more today.
Ikr? Much better than the so-called "talent" of today. They played real instruments!!! No one does that nowadays. It's all electronic crap. This is one of the most beautiful songs ever. (Jan Griffiths).
Heard this song on my car radio today, 3/10/17. Haven't heard Suavecito in aboutt 30 years. It sure brought back a lot of good memories. Just a wonderful song by some fine people. Thanks, guys, for the fine music.
Conozco esta canción desde 1972, el año en que se publicó en un LP con una portada bellísima. La he escuchado infinidad de veces y siempre me ha complacido enormemente, no me canso de oirla. Gracias a Jorge, a la banda y quien ha subido este video.

So joyful and laid-back song. I always picture myself in a good Sunday afternoon laying on the beach, leaving all my problems behind, and listening Suavecito 🙂👍

@Manuel Arellano I'm glad you recognized Raul Rekow, my little brother was still little in this taping, but you can see he was on his way to being the buff carnal we remember from so many years with Carlos Santana. Big brother, bigger heart, yet soft when it came to family and music, the things he loved most. QDEP mi hermano.

One of my all time favorite old school jams. Reminds me of simpler times of my youth. Also, it makes me reminisce of the hot latinas that were everywhere in Northern California where I grew up. I was fortunate enough to date a few back in my days.

Grandes recuerdos de mi niñez, gracias por compartir...fabuloso Jorge "malo" Santana y RIP Raúl Rekow
@Manuel Arellano
I'm glad you recognized Raul Rekow, my little brother was still little in this taping, but you can see he was on his way to being the buff carnal we remember from so many years with Carlos Santana. Big brother, bigger heart, yet soft when it came to family and music, the things he loved most. QDEP mi hermano.
I can’t remember how old I was when I first heard this song, in my teens. I still play that song in my car, I have it on my playlist ❤️
Más tarde Jorge participó con la Fania All Stars. Les ví en concierto en San Juan, Puerto Rico. Perfecto.
Un gran grupo
Y grandes cantantes

Qué bonita canción que vivirán por siempre en nuestros corazones y en el tiempo.
Qué bonitos recuerdos nos traen a nuestras vidas.

RIP Jorge! Hope your journey home is suave, smooth, loving and light.
THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LOVE SONG, TO FIND THE RIGHT ONE, SO ROMANTIC, SANTANA,S ARE GREAT,.MALO,
One of my all time favorite old school jams. Reminds me of simpler times of my youth. Also, it makes me reminisce of the hot latinas that were everywhere in Northern California where I grew up. I was fortunate enough to date a few back in my days.
Una joya de canción,podría escucharla todo él tiempo del mundo,me quedé sin palabras, hermosa canción que más puedo decir de otra dimensión.
Excelentes músicos y Jorje Santana excelso guitarrista, que en paz descanse.
