      That guy did everything he could to save his friend. His friend chose to be an organ doner, he needs to change his thinking in that he helped his friend become a hero even after he died. They both saved all of these people. Survivors guilt is bad enough, but this having someones life in your hands and they die.... this is why doctors are driven to addictions unless they understand sometimes even if they did everything they just cant save everyone. I have to watch a family member tell people they are dying on a daily basis from cancer, it takes its toll on you. I truly hope this guy learns that very unique lesson and uses the experience to positively move on emotionally. Not only him but those in the military, police, fire, ambulance and other public emergency services. Thankyou for doing the best you can... no matter what anyone says in the heat of emotions it is all anyone can do.

    You probably already know how important it was to pull him from the fire, and all of the lives, as a result of your heroism, we're saved also.
    I'm glad that this news story was next in line, because it shows how you and others come together in very unfortunate circumstances. It's sad that he lost his life, so much sorrow for his parents, and so much joy from the recipient of his heart.

    With respect and regret I would like to inform you: An organ donor is twice as likely to die in a hospitable than a non-organ donor. 60 people, and 60 doctors, and 60 hospitals profited from this organ donor's death. The Medical profession profits from money, not integrity or altruism.

    • @Xelif9

    • @Thinker2-truth
      @Thinker2-truth 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @HardTimeGamers - You may have missed my point. If the one who died did not have a donor card and there was no profit motive for Doctors and Hospitals. Would the donor have lived? I was not there, I do not know. What I do know is we humans frequently interfere with the will of nature (Creator / creation). Transplant Surgery is an enormous interference, and who profits? (People who need transplants, do not need them because they were living in harmony with nature, creation, Creator.)

    • @Thinker2-truth
      @Thinker2-truth 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @HardTimeGamers - Perhaps I'm being too subtle. In China people who disagree with the government are sent to prison. Prisoners in china are murdered so the government can sell their organs. Homeless in the parks have woken the next day to discover they have one less kidney, or simply never wake up. Is this business good or bad?

      You are right, organs specifically cannot save 60 people's lives, as there are not that many in the human body that can be donated after death. However, tissue transplants, which in many cases can be the difference between life and death for those suffering from other serious conditions, often come from organ donors, so it is definitely possible that 60 lives saved could be an accurate figure.

    Deep down all these people are happy that Matt died and are thankfull to Ryan for saving Matt's organs, that's just how it is. They will never admit it to public or themselves but that is how it is and Ryan probably knows it. Maybe he is thinking "at least these 60 people are alive now", but bullshit if he could go back in time knowing all of this he would still save his friend i guarantee it!

    Honestly if I was in his position I'd find it really hard to accept this award because in my mind I would still feel like I failed but that's from my perspective if it happened to me

    Wait how did he die if his heart was still working? Was his brain injured, and they were able to restart his heart inside someone else, I just don't get how it works...

    Touching story. Although I am a registered donor. I have an issue with how and who decides the recipients will be....In other words...organs go to selected people. For example. Joe bloggs has the same clinical conditions as Bill Gates, both require a new heart, both are compatitable and suitable candiates for a new heart that is available. Both are fully fit and can undergo the heart transplant surgery. Now the question is who gets the Heart?? Is it Mr Gates or Mr Bloggs??

      haha nice one, that's a good spot. But for the purpose of debate lets propose that both Mr Gates and Mr Bloggs came in for treatment and were subsequently put on the waiting list at the same time.
