I have a diesel HDI box wedge. Have I had issues. O yes but. I will say without a doubt hands down. Chris at Wolfe Ridge has been there for me. He stands behind his product. Once I send a email explain my issue. I will receive a email or a phone call and the fix is on its way. I don’t think I have ever had such great customer service from any new product purchased new. You’re correct on the machines breaking. Customer service and parts availability are so important. Time down is lost revenue. The box wedge is so nice with uniform pieces. But what a mess. You can get buried in slash and trash so quickly. Great video. Really cool, you’re being opened minded with your choices of manufacture to go with. Good luck sir.

Wolfe Ridge, Eastonmade both good! I don’t have any experience on anything else! I have ran an Allwood very briefly but the only thing I remember about it was it was huge😂 Whatever you go with will be the right splitter for you! Lotta great models and manufacturers out there. I have a 37D - absolutely love it! There is tons of power and it barely notices with any of the different wedges. The only downside to the 37D is the towing...but on the flipside, it is certainly optimized to work from one side. The only splitter my 37D will be replaced with is another 37D.
@@WilleysFirewood make sure you watch the Wolfe Ridge diesel vid with the box wedge that Bob Nelson did and the 37D vids. There is a massive difference in how the wood flows through the wedge...all I am saying is watch closely and you will see the differences.
Another great video. Like everyone says, if it’s mechanical , It’s gonna break. They receive so much stress, it’s a wonder they hold up as well as they do. Spend your money on a great splitter & don’t give it to the government in taxes. Dave D from Maine.

Just got my allwood locast. Id also like a thermostatic swich. I wish the engine controls were easier to access from the other side. But otherwise, I love it. I have auto cycle and more centralized controls, also a closed in log lift. Its a monster. I too like the height compared to the others. Thanks for sharing!
Eastonmade has great products and great company that supports it. However I like your channel for showcasing other manufacturers that are out there that make equally good products. Happy to see what you bring to the wood yard in the future

For the Falmouth Lion's firewood operation, the Timberwolfe TW3 HD has worked well. 3pth so height is never a problem, 22 gpm pto driven pump makes it quick. 3 cylinder IH 464 tractor easy on fuel and able to maneuver around the yard. Keep Kevin humping.
@@johnwinslow4503 I started with a TW2 as my first non box store splitter. It worked well but the Allwood is 3-4 times faster. We will keep kevin cranking along again this week.
My suggestion is hit the shows and run them all and see first hand what would work best for your application . Brands don’t matter customer service dose . Most people don’t realize that when ya send that much wood through any splitter it’s gona have problems eventually and that’s why you go with customer service . Have you ck out any of the machines with the x knife that you can adjust the split sizes . Probably alot more $ to jump up into something like that though .

Speed, durability and customer service is number one at Eastonmade.. i purchased a Bells 4000.. they which is now Eastonmade.. called Jeremy yesterday because ram would not return properly.. 2 minutes later I was able to determine the issue .. . With the 12-22 i purchased, I blew the rad .. 1st time they replaced the rad shipped to my house the next day.. when it happened the second time they replaced the entire machine..

@@buckinfirewood gramp wants to cut by hand so as long as he wants to cut we will do it by hand. Gramp likes having the work and I enjoy having him around. We are close to the point of needing to shop for a processor again for sure but I need to keep gramp cutting too.
mechanical things break down. It does not mater, it will happen. You do an amazing amount of firewood. I have two splitters that I made both have 18 HP with a 24 gal two stage pump and both have log lifts and are electric start. I split about 6 -8 cords a year for my two houses that have wood as their nain heat source. We split oak, fir, maple, and Madrone. Keep up the videos. I look forward every day forma new one.
I seriously considered an all wood when i was looking bobby is a great guy. It just worked out that built rite dealer was closer to me and easily attainable. I bought a built rite 13 super, its a great machine but i am tall also and it does sit low and i have to be bent over when i run it. I am going to switch to a vertical splitter, I think for what i do it will work out well.

Never thought the All Wood Splitter was a question in quantity or workmanship. As I started watching your channel, I could tell it was an older model, and as I watched and seeing the cords you are running. I have no issues with my splitter and just like you could little things change yes.

I always thought it crazy that guys would load the log lift and then walk around to the other side to run the controls. Adding a little more room to the lift side between the tire and lift along with locating the controls there would solve that BIG issue for a lot of folks. 2 folks can easily operate from one side on either side of the lift.
I have a wolfe ridge 28c i have just shy of 800 hours had 2 hydraulic leaks one on main cylinder one on the autocycle valve both replaced by chris at wolfe ridge no questions asked. Once my cooler turns on it doesnt shut off until you stop splitting so a temp sensor is not necessary after fluid is warm in my opinion

If you like diesel and you want fast the 24d has both. It’s faster than the 37d just not as much power. From what I see your wood is pretty good not all gnarly. Just as you said the more splits the more waste but production goes up. I think the eastonmade you can choose between a box wedge and a standard multi wedge on the same machine. Peace

I got the all wood oak series. Very pleased after about a month of ownership. I am 6’2”. I like the height of the machine. Built like a tank. A400 steel. Don’t know what a400 steel is, but apparently it is really durable. Cycle time is 6 seconds. I wouldn’t want anything faster as I split by myself and extra speed would be wasted. I got a free upgraded sorting table as a veteran. Owner is responsive. Production is greatly increased

@WilleysFirewood box wedges seem to make nice wood but maybe sacrifice a bit of time from what I see with the ability to have so many different wedges now I think you can find the right one

The blood wood from all wood is a beast 42 ton, full auto cycle, processor style wedges, 24 HP yanmar diesel. It doesn't look like it will accept a box wedge but 4, 6, 8... I have the 37D with the 23 hp Kubota it's a 37 ton beast with a smaller footprint then the all wood. I wouldn't recommend towing it far distances. So sometimes I wish it was built on a bigger trailer for towing but I only use it at the house usually. Eastonmade is delivering machines all across the USA for $500 that a long with Eastonmades superior wedges IMO would be my selling point Wolf Ridge makes great machines no question about it but their wedges need improvement. The closed box wedge system puts a lot of stress on the engine, cylinder and wedges. The slip on wedges would not last a year with the type of wood I split they would bend or break. The Eastonmade box wedges and traditional wedges are just built stronger and better.
The new All Woods do have a few improvements for sure. A lot of great manufacturers out there these days. We love our Muscle Wood but haven’t put quite the wood through it that you have.

Simple fix for the log lift. Weld a rebar “ladder” maybe 10-12 pieces of rebar up the lift.
