    Great comparison Tony, you have a great way of pointing out all the pros and cons as well as explaining things in both scenarios based on using the equipment and being honest about what you have dealt with. I definitely like the vertical splitters and I can see the SplitFire being a great option for some who have a road side stand who do bundle wood/pizza oven/ or solo fire pit wood on a smaller scale at a affordable price point until the need for a commercial splitter makes sense. I agree that it is great to see all the various options over the box store splitters. Stay safe and make sure to stock up on the creek water from Chris’s old wood yard. 👍🏻👍🏻

    Hi Tony - it’s Big Rodders in Ireland. I have always been a vertical splitter advocate for the accuracy of splits and great ergonomics. I’m pleased to learn that my American cousins are beginning to see the light! In my view the 1165V would suffice for the vast majority of our community due to its manoeuvrability and excellent cost/performance ratio.

    I think the Wolf Ridge and Eastonmade are quality machines. You can put new engines and pumps on them and keep going. On other hand you can buy 3 of the Split Fire units probably for 1 heavy duty machine. My 2 Cents 🤔

    • @TonysCoolTools
      @TonysCoolTools  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You’ve pointed out some great points. The commercial splitters are just that, able to be run continuously 8-12 hrs a day and be able to be rebuilt and last a lifetime.
      On the other hand as you pointed out you can buy multiple 1165v and still have money in your pocket.

      Since these videos will be available months and years from now pricing will not be current.
      As of the video, the basic Split Fire 1165v without log lift is $2300.

      That’s my problem, I can’t choose which one I like better because they both work great.

      Keith, I know the folks at Split-Fire read each and every comment.
      With the amazing success of the 1165V I wouldn’t be surprised if you hear of a commercial series vertical splitter in the future.

      @@TonysCoolToolsbut Tony,…the outdoor elements is not the problem. It is clear, that you can see a huge difference between paint and powder coat , when you look at the two splitters side by side. The Split Fire has only been used maybe a couple of months compared to a couple of years with the Axis. I see other Split Fire models that look like they’re 10+ years old because of the paint.

    I think the term commonly used that would apply to the 1165V is "pro-sumer". It is heavier and better built, like an Echo CS-590, than the traditional box store machines but not as heavy as the commercial grade machines.

      @TonysCoolTools just wish things could've worked out to try out the 1165V. But I've figured out how to make pretty decent bundle wood with my splitter. That's the beauty of TH-cam, you learn how to make your tools do the job by watching other people for solutions when you get stumped.

    • @TonysCoolTools
      @TonysCoolTools  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely, you make a valid point about buying 3 instead of 1 Axis, however… a couple points to make are, the axis is a commercial splitter, 2 it’s more powerful and can split larger and tougher rounds. But you’re right as far as a resplitting machine manes down the Split-Fire 1165v would be my choice.

    Good morning Mr T
    Great video as always.
    I ordered a split fire after watching your first video and it’s supposed to ship this week
    We saw the split fire at the Paul Bunyan show and are super super impressed
    This has to be the single most undervalued splitter on the market today in my opinion .
    Can’t wait to get it. I’ve got all kinds of work lined up for it. It will augment my Eastonmade 2228 quite nicely.
    By the way, is your hydraulic fluid low on your Eastonmade ?

    • @TonysCoolTools
      @TonysCoolTools  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Dan can wait to hear your thoughts after you get you Split-Fire. I wish I had this splitter when I had my Eastonmade 12-22. Resplitting after using the 6 way would have been a breeze.
      I will have to check the hydraulic fluid, I think part of the problem was I wasn’t on a flat surface.
