      @@Gosbecol123 cant say much as I don’t look at much M2 dynos and they have the EWG N55 while I have the earlier PWG N55. I just dyno’d it last month and made 386whp but on my extremely conservative (intentional request to my tuner). I have to go re-dyno after the holiday craze though, as my HPFP died on me while on the dyno. This was with about 3.5* ign advance and 19.9psi ceiling. One on E-mix we’ll crank it up good and see how high we can push it.

    Question, do you need to upgrade injectors i imagine for this and what size? I noticed in your previous videos, you upgraded the low pressure fuel pump in the tank, do you have to also upgrade the high pressure one on the engine?

    • @turbospool
      @turbospool  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am running stock injectors. and being a 2011 I have the N54 Continental HPFP which feeds much more than the later Bosch HPFP. Only fuel upgrades AT THIS TIME are the Walbro 450LPH pump you saw on my first video, and the Arc Terminator EKPS cooler. On 91 octane I know this setup is plenty enough. I'm curious as to what will happen with the higher fuel demands of the upcoming Ethanol content

      I’ve been debating it! We are just watching how fuel pressures look as we move up on 91 octane tuning and later with E50. Just really depends on if we see a NEED for more fuel, and if we think the LPFP can handle feeding the additional injectors. It will not work on stock tune unfortunately. Since the Wastegate works (in simple terms) the opposite as the stock wastegate (default position is closed, not open like stocker), the stock tune would cause it to overboost instantly. And that will come with all the trouble codes related lol

Everything on the car is pretty much upgraded except for the turbo. I’m still on stock turbo. I am wondering what kind of power I would make with this turbo with my current modifications and a custom tune. I like stock like spool. I was thinking close to 500 WHP. I also have the flex fuel high power spark plugs installed. I can run full E85 and I do have easy access to it but I prefer to stay around e50-e60

    Did you have to adjust the wastegate position at all?

    • @turbospool
      @turbospool  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They ship turbos with the WG already calibrated. I did not have to adjust mine. Over a year now with no issue

    • @dereksimonds3104
      @dereksimonds3104 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I recently purchased and mine seems to be locked in the close position, apply a vacuum with a hand pump and it did nothing, can pull the rod but it sucks back into closed position.

    • @turbospool
      @turbospool  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dereksimonds3104 that is normal. The WG is a dual force design. Default position is closed rather than open. That is an intentional feature to ensure the fastest possible spool up. I highly suggest you get on FB and join the “Frankenturbo/Shuenk N55 Test Group” group chat. Theres a ton of us there with N55+ and F55 turbos all sharing experiences and with Doug (Shuenk’s owner) always in the mix. Do you also have a tuner ready to go? This requires custom tuning

    • @dereksimonds3104
      @dereksimonds3104 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Okay, I emailed them and I had not heard back yet. I will look into that group, yes I have a custom tune with docvu tuning and we have been working to figure out what was going on but he suggested that my waste gate line was blocked. Could not find anything that pointed to that. Just what I mentioned above is what I found.

    • @turbospool
      @turbospool  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@dereksimonds3104 i dont recall if anyone in the group has used DocVu on this particular turbo. So let me try to save you guys some of the learning curve…
      The Dual Force WG does NOT work like the stock one. So he will have to build a boost control logic from scratch.
      This WG defaults to closed position (unlike the open default position of the stock WG). Turbine housing pressure is what pushes it open. The vacuum from the solenoid is not to shut it but to “assist” it in keeping that flap closed until the desired target boost psi is achieved. Because of this, full vacuum should not be applied to the WG until after the point at which the WG flap begins to open up. If you start with 100% vacuum you will overboost like crazy (I spiked 32psi on my first pull because this info had not become widely known yet lol).
      So yes, tuning with this turbo’s WG will take more work. So expect a lot more trial and error. Once you join the group you’ll have access to everyone that’s posted up their tuning logs so you can compare where you’re at to others with similar setups, etc…
      Hope that helps!
