I worked with the Delta Troop, A sqdn I think, in Tikrit when I was there in late 03-04 for almost 4 months. I was in Civil Affairs and they took me on several missions using me to get access emplacement or an excuse to snoop around different villages to shake the trees so to speak in the Ad Dwar area. I was not there during the capture but after doing my first tour In 06, I transferred over to that unit. A 4-42 FA 4ID. Had another senior NcOs who was actually on the ground then. My unit did take credit for it because at my e5 promotion board that was one of the questions about what significant role this our unit take part of. I heard Tom’s interview a year ago and that’s what stood out to me. First thing he did and remembered was saying the support unit 4iD that was on the ground with him. Just the fact that his group allowed my unit to actually part take on this mission other than pull outer security speaks volume. 10 times out to 10 usually missions like that special operations would not even consider having conventional forces do that. I was visiting a friend on Fort Hood not long after a large part of 4th ID had returned from Iraq. I spoke to a few soldiers near the 4th ID Memorial and a few claimed to have been present when Saddam was captured. They told a story of an E4 being spit on by Saddam immediately after being pulled from underground and the E4 had punched Saddam for it. They also claimed he was there in the group but would not identify him to me. In the 4th ID museum they had a small metal lockbox that came out of the hole with Saddam. I’ve never found any other evidence of their story but I take them at their word. It was an Honor just to visit with them at their Memorial. An E7 had asked me not to approach the Memorial while soldiers were there but after he learned I was a Desert Storm Veteran he walked me up to the group and introduced me. If anyone knows of any of this story please reply.
My old 4iD unit was the unit that got credit for the capture of Saddam. Tom and his guys got saddam out of the spider hole and gave my unit the credit. 4 ID 4-42 FA 1bct out of ft hood.
2:05 So a group of grown American men thought the Cowboys cheerleaders would be in Iraq on Thanksgiving instead of on the sideline of the football game?
Person I know who was a former operator said he once escorted saddam in the US before he was an enemy said when they got into a traffic jam, Saddam said "they all stopped for me?" Another time, some foreign leader he was escorting got bit by a squirrel, and he then had to stop his people from trying to kill the squirrel, explaining to them "they are protected", and said the squirrel almost caused an international incident.

Might suck to find out he was fighting the banks and then we didn’t like that so we technically took out an guy that was just trying to make his home independent at the end of the day.
I know that after your time is put in that all of us who were there tend to drift toward finding all the material you can find about the campaign your were involved in. For those involved with the capture of Saddam Heusein. I wonder if any operators there have questions or concerns about their campaign having been founded upon a sea of lies. Ultimately they were bent over by their own government.
Uh No. There is a reason why they try out for delta selection. They don’t think of shit like that. They are a full on assault unit. That’s what they do is assault. fYI my old unit was the unit that took credit for saddam. My unit pulled outer security for them while they got saddam out of that spider hole. It’s just another day for them. After they caught him, they handed saddam over to my one unit to escort and took credit for. Those delta guys didn’t take credit for it.

Don't they know the truth about 9/11 and how building 7 fell on its own footprint like a controlled demolition? Do they know how many witnesses were silenced and killed who went against the official narrative against 9/11? Do they know about Alan Sabrosky who said that 9/11 was a Israeli Mossad operation because he knows how they operate? And that the CIA was DEFINITELY involved? How does Shawn and these Delta guys don't know this? Are they just willfully blind? The SAME neocons who lied to us about 9/11 and got us into endless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are the same liars who lied about COVID origins, and the same liars who are lying about my former homeland of Ukraine and the war going on there! I was there! The poor people of Ukraine and soldiers are suffering and being used as meat grinders for the New World Order, but it's the politicians up top and the bankers that love to continue this war because it helps them fulfill their objectives of causing World War 3.
We did. Countless stashes of chemical and biological weapons, also known as WMDs. They don't need to be nuclear. And yes, I know they were specifically saying they might have nukes, but truthfully we will never know. The desert is a big place, you could bury that shit anywhere and leave it preserved for decades. If they had any they either left the country or were buried. No doubt in my opinion that they had them.
The Black Water interpreter that pulled Sadam out of the tunnel made a fake vehicle pass for Camp As Silayah Doha, Qatar, and I was the one that caught him.
It took me a while to understand what the secret service was trying to explain. If the president says to the American people something he should not say like “we have a Christmas present coming”! Saying that after 9/11 would be crazy so now I see the importance of what the secret service does on many levels

Tom's book is excellent. Thank God for men like him
It was all for not. Worse than Vietnam.
The..."dissolutionment" in Mr. Satterly's voice when he shares his own revelation that..."It doesn't matter". Risking his life, and his team members risking their lives, and knowing..."it doesn't really matter", because it's just a matter of, who's next.
It had to be gratifying when he looked the Butcher of Bagdad in the eyes and said, "You'll be dead soon."
BOOM 💥 Thank you for all you've done!
Risking it for the agenda of the globalist elites
Butcher of Baghdad lol. Imagine still repeating NeoCon bullshit phrases
Ft Hood baby!!!
Kevin Holland pulled Saddam out of the hole.
let this dude make these stories into movies and it would be gold.
It’s kind of like death. Once you see a lot of it, well it almost seems normal. Then you start to get worried, about yourself.
I absolutely love this show
lol this dude dope yo thanks for your service 💪🏽 they need movies bout this guy and other bad ass units
Unbelievable story! Our soldiers were/are the best in the world.
it's hard to tell the difference between the bad guys and good guys these days but I know this dude is a good one
So interesting. Thanks 😅
Wow the deck of cards, haven't seen them in years, gonna look for the deck I packed away
You both deserve thanks for this video. Thank you.
Listening to special forces guys talk is always interesting to me. They’re always a rare mix of rough, tough, monster energy drinking, raggedy beard good ol’ boy energy- and intelligent, eloquent, thoughtful, quiet genius energy. Like always a perfect mix of brain and brawn
I think it was former Navy Seal Kevin Lacz that said something like “all SF personnel are thinking shooters”. Here’s where we see it
I was on this very same presidential detail, working PSD for Lt. Gen. David McKiernan who was also present.
What a fantastic story teller! Riveting on-the-scene story. Wow. Shawn, your site is the best. Interview Taylor Cavanaugh- went from the SEALS to the French Foreign Legion. Incredible story.
@@FMD023 I am in no way trying to impugn your honor. Thats not my point. Have you ever read a copy of the late Marine Corps General William Smedley Butler’s war is a racket? that is why I ask what I ask what I asked. I mean I am persuaded that if a cause was presented honestly I might join it if it were just, but I cannot think it were honorable to perform a duty and afterward find out it was a lie.
Pretty sure he was held in Union 3. I was there with 4th ID at the time.
What unit?
Remember that PTSD is a real issue with veterans.
i was PSD and driver for general vines and general casey and other top officials got to see alot in 2004 -2005
The only time Denzel had an equal on the set of a film was when he did Crimson Tide. Man Gene Hackman was brilliant
Rarefied air, to listen to these men.
Ughhh….you capture #1….or number 3827…..and then the bad guys have a promotion board…and somebody else fills that slot.
Real men don’t follow football schedules. We have stuff to do.
and now the people of Iraq regret the death of Sadam Hussein because they were provoked to take him down they have watched the US not only fail to come up with a sound strategy for maintaining security, but also compound that failure with various misguided actions
They people belongs behind bars. 👎
The way the good ole boy talk makes me
My cousin died in Afghanistan and I look at it as a complete waste of life.
I wonder if these guys ever think about how they are literally kill crews for military contractors. They must come home after and think it has nothing to do for their home country
Delta guys are legit. No DB sleeve tattoos.
What does DB mean?
D bag lol but seriously if a man has a problem with another man's tattoos they're probably a d bag themselves
@@busterbiloxi3833 means douchebag 😂
This dude really reminds me of Ron White for some reason.
Straight up surprised he didn't bust his teeth for that.
I'm surprised he didn't backhand his drill instructor for being disrespectful. That's how true badasses roll.
@@Toy1er weird comment from a weird little guy
Hell of a mic drop.
Cool to hear not only the operation side but this guys opinion. Really interesting.
I’m one of the best at Sales and Marketing and he tells good Stories. Just like Spec Ops can tell within secs who is a bad dude, we can spot great Salesmen.
Would love to hear some international guests from Israel, France, Germany, or Poland who are becoming a strong military force in Europe.
American show about American patriots. What’s hard to understand about that?
@@mr.roboto7330You don't get it mate. You can also depict patriotism and heroism of Americans through the lens of our biggest allies. Would be interesting to get that perspective.
Honey i'm home!
You can't tell me that's not John Schneider the Gm of my seahawks.
"Next" really hit home. Just another dude and there will always be the next dude, and next dude... etc. I can't tell the good guys from the bad guys anymore.
I wonder if he saw the C-130 plane filled with American dollars that flew into Iraq and " disappeared " .
What does roll them up mean?
I always wonder how far the US would believe what we believed back then if we had access to the tech we have now…
No need to wonder. It’s still happening today and the answer is, yes.

Get the Team Leader on there John Shrek McPhee. Dude’s badass with great humor
And after we got him, we found the weapons of mass dedtruction we were looking for.
Bingo. What a scam.
Lol!! Yea completely garbage!! We have been lied to since 9/11 about EVERYTHING! Don't these Spec Ops guys know they're tools for the empire?
@@rekerboi1125You mean countless barrels of OIL ?

The Black Water interpreter that pulled Sadam out of the tunnel made a fake vehicle pass for Camp As Silayah Doha, Qatar, and I was the one that caught him.
Doha got up to 135 degrees, and he didn't want to use the parking lot outside of the fence.
😮 whoa
I was the Second Gunman on the Grassy Knoll...
Pawns...all of ya...wish it wasn't so
It took me a while to understand what the secret service was trying to explain. If the president says to the American people something he should not say like “we have a Christmas present coming”!
Saying that after 9/11 would be crazy so now I see the importance of what the secret service does on many levels
My unit was pulling outside security while he was captured.
cool to hear this from both Satterly's and VanSant's perspectives
Ain't it funny that all these operators never speak about how the rich elites use them as cannon fodder. Laughing about Saddam when you was the fool you was lied too 😂😂😂😂
How thick would an American corrupt politicians deck be?
Geez. They haven't made enough playing cards for that yet.
When the president asks you if your gonna get someone. Your answer would only be. Sure, yes sir!
Any other detail might incriminate you.
Why does he sound Theo 😂
