Key thing: MBL always gets forging for his spearmen so he wins the early fights and snowballs. Catches people off-guard and secures his push because of the favorable K:D ratio.
If there is ever going to be a Hidden Cup 6, we desperately need Hera to play at least 1 game like this.

unironically MbL is a lone star player of AoE2 strategywise, because it feels like everyone else tries to play the "perfect" game while he just tries to play the winning game. he minmaxes harrassment and map positionings like no other player and doesnt mind paying upfront costs in high risk high reward maneuvers at all, doesnt mind wasting res and time if his opponent might pay more, i feel this is the way. i saw your series on the finals of HC and was seriously impressed how well prepared you were for the games and mindgames, you really deserved that win, but i really wonder how a series between you and mbl wouldve looked especially mindgame/prepped strats-wise, i feel it would be almost impossible to be prepared

There are a couple of mistakes here Hera.
1st is you missed like 20 outpost to have vision in all the map
2nd you missed spears in early feudal even if the oponent goes meso
3rd is the 2nd siege workshop was a mistake, instead you do monastery for vululu
4th missed elite skirm for the side atack

Those forward villagers were alive FAR too long to not drop a random TC next to the enemy base. MBL would be disappointed.
MBL & Hera are the only players I watch, so this is just perfect.

wow even hera struggled with macro playing like mbl but somehow mbl eapm is generally less than heras. Make it make sense! Probably 8/10 mbl for me. Not enough skirms or spears before castle for me and some stuff came a bit too late like the tower, castle and not getting any relics

MBL is the definition of off meta. He knows what the most effective tactics are and just doesn't care. He plays his own way and uses the civs he wants to use.

but you didn't have vils walling in his resources while laming the boar like MBL
MBL would have never have gone back home in a straight line.
Also, I think against MBL, it might be right to pretend to steal a boar 🐗, but not. Just because you know he is going to concentrate on winning the laming mini-game. Thus, siphoning APM from other things.
