In my opinion, the Sebenza is the best for a "one and done" knife. It's very simple to maintain, and Chris Reeve will support you years down the road if you need something fixed.
This, or an Inkosi depending on one's personal flavor. My second favorite is the Strider just because I like the way they fit my hands better than the Hinderers, plus their grinds are a bit more acute so they slice ever so slightly better for me. Though I own all of these regardless.
Your large Seb 31 has a ceramic ball mounted into the lock bar which acts as both the locking interface and the detent when closed. All large CRK models now use this system FYI
Normally this doesn’t happen lol. I typically know enough about my own knives to make a video and I don’t need homework 😂. The Chris Reeves tho are probably the exception. Thanks for the comment (you should see the one about me not even calling it the correct name ha).
Kempfz Knife Life all good mate, I was just about to edit my comment and make it not so negative but you already saw it 😁 Subscribed to your channel mate 👍🏻
No you’re good! I just appreciate you correcting me bc that is important, especially for new people. I added a note to the description per your information 👍🏻👍🏻. Thanks! Appreciate that 😊. Hope you enjoy my other vids man.
I have 15 Chris Reeve knives, 3 Hinderer and zero Strider. Only 3 Hinderer because I love the Bowie blade on the XM-18 and they are really hard to get or I would have more, I don’t buy Strider because I don’t like drops that I have to fight with other website power users only to have my basket empty - and I really love Chris Reeve knives and their drops are large enough to allow you to actually buy one. These are all fabulous for sure!
Very cool man! That’s a fantastic spread. Ugh yeah I hear you there. Strider’s drops are dumb in so many ways. I scored an SNG awhile back in one somehow but then sold it lol. This one was bought secondhand. It was basically new tho. The Hinderer also came from a drop on their website. Can’t remember exactly where I got the Chris Reeve. Maybe knifejoy? Still makes me laugh that Striders literally ship in a plastic bag 😂😂😂.
Love Chris Reeves and Hinderer Knives, I have no love for Strider knives however, I don't like the overall design, I have also seen and held some where the build quality is very questionable especially for the price, I have no idea why they are so popular!!!
@@kempfzknifelife9772 Someday I am sure I will happen upon a Strider that’s in stock and will buy one - the only thing I am not thrilled with is aluminum - it’s perfectly fine but would really rather have a titanium frame - not sure if Strider makes a version with titanium.
Hey, you need to try one of the all-Ti Performance Series SNFs. It addresses most, if not all, of your “bads”. Lanyard placement, torx heads on BOTH sides and large (but normal) allen head pivots and both sides. I recently bought my first, and I love, love, LOVE it! Thanks for your content! ;-}. MM
The plastic bag thing drives me nuts! I recently got my dan carraher 904 a few months ago, straight from carraher from his pre order...and it showed up in a bubble wrap bag. Kinda blew my mind that a knife that expensive didn't even come with a pouch! I mean what's a pouch cost? $10? Rediculous!
The Hinderer G10 side has a titanium liner, it is none magnetic and is anodized bronze in yours which shows it is titanium. The ZT 0562 has a steel liner.
I'm a cruwear fanboy so I was going to fact check you on the Strider's steel being similar to it. Alas I've never heard of pd1 so I'll take your word for it. Do you think the AD20 is the trinity killer like I do?
SMF is a closer comparison to the Xm and Large sebbie. Useable blade is smaller on the SNG. Can't even find one and IF you do on bladeforums it is gone in 4 seconds.
gonna get some hate here and understandably so, but for me its always gonna be strider. It was one of the first big knife brands I really saw and got hooked into(granted mick seems to be doing his best at times to ruin his rep....) I completely understand the problems people have with the knife and the brand as a whole but for some reason I still love them.
That's a sebenza you have there. Not an inkosi. But both of those models will cut much better than any of the totally badass overbuilt, harduse tactical operator things that hinderer and strider make
I'm not a fan of wasteful packaging. For this reason, I actually would rather get a knife in a plastic bag like the Strider than in a box full of Styrofoam.
@@kempfzknifelife9772 I'm far from the only one, common amongst environmentalists, though the knife community is sort of built around consumption of a particular good and we like "presentation" which in itself is inherently a wasteful and functionally unnecessary part of buying a knife - but it sort of feels good. I have a Medford that came in a plastic box with foam inside that's not meant to just be thrown out. I'm sure the box is part of the price, but I like this touch more than just giving me some cardboard, otherwise something that I can just recycle is perfect.
These knives are all expensive. Presentation is important to lots of people. What if you purchased one of these knives to give as a gift for someone? Buck knives are inexpensive compared to these knives and they come in beautiful packaging. Nice packaging looks like you care about your customers and gives you a memorable experience
Yeahhhh I know lol. A previous viewer pointed that out ha. Thanks man. Also, I love carbon fiber! I’d pick that over titanium any day (but that’s personal preference).

You make a really valid point William. I think for awhile CRK’s level of quality was higher, but that’s changed in recent years. And Hinderer’s are wayyyy more customizable, which is fun 🤩. I’ve learned to appreciate each for different reasons I guess (many being subjective).
Soooo I completely agree. I've got a 3" xm-18, 2 3.5" xm-18's and an xm-24....just got my first chris reeve...had to get the zaan! I like it, but hinderers are better IMHO. Zaan is still a sick knife, and carries surprisingly well!
I haven’t handled one of those but I imagine it’s similar to an Inkosi or Sebenza. These days Hinderer quality is so high though that I’d go Hinderer bc of the other benefits CRK doesn’t offer that Hinderer does.
I have had quite a few and sold them all. I’ll probably have another soon but they really need to change their warranty policy. It’s one of the worst imo.
@@kempfzknifelife9772 I think that the warranty policy no longer says taking the knife apart voids the warranty. I think so too. And they will do full re-blades, which a lot of places avoid. They really are excellent knives backed by a great company.

In terms of blade length the SNG matches up more closely. But it has the choil, which sucks up blade length. I snag mine off Instagram :D
If I could only have one, CRK 31 Sebenza hands down. Especially the MagnaCut.
