Mr. Cool DIY Mini Split Installation

Getting the garage set up with air conditioning before the summer heat! This is the 4th generation 36K BTU DIY mini split unit from Mr. Cool.

Looks good, what size line set cover does this need?

I used the 4.5” wide set and it had plenty of room. Should’ve bought an extra straight piece to finish it off but I’m not sure if you can buy them individually.

Question: Is it OK to run the "plumbing lines" down the interior wall and have it exit to the exterior at a level closer to the exterior unit? I have concerns the HOA is not going to like the look of the exterior covers coming down the exterior wall. Thanks!

Absolutely! I did exactly that on a previous installation and coiled up the excess tubing within the wall. Just make sure you don’t create any traps or kinks in the condensate drain line or the unit will eventually back up and leak.
