    I have a 780 sq ft garage here in southern NM. I don't want to insulate as it's used as just a garage, not a hangout. But the summers are very hot. Would this work if the garage is uninsulated?

    • @jbr555s
      @jbr555s  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@troybower9419 hello. So I did use mine for probably a week without insulation before they put it in. This was in the summer when it was I think 105° and it could get it down to mid to low 80s inside. but if you run it all night, it’ll really help the next day. In other words Don’t just start it in the morning or in the afternoon. Let it run all night and it’ll help but you definitely want to do some insulation. If you can doesn’t have to be spray foam you could get the least expensive and put it in yourself. Also, the example I gave you is my garage is 1000 ft.² with 15-16 foot ceilings. It would work even better than yours since it’s approximately 800 ft.².

      @@jbr555s thanks for the response. My ceilings are 12’ high. Well, the exposed rafters are 12’ high and they are about 2’ trusses so 14’ to the roof decking. I just don’t want to insulate. I spend no more than two hours per week in the garage. And it’s only uncomfortable for about six months out of the year. Right now it is between 90 and 93° in the garage. Low 80s would be awesome.

      @@troybower9419 yes what you just told me you will be just fine. You don’t need to insulate for what you’re going to do. And it also heats absolutely perfect for those 30° desert nights if you want to warm it up.

      No the Mr Cool comes with the lines pre-charged it's pretty easy there's more videos you'll see where they hook it up. once you screw the fittings together the Freon releases and it's pretty easy and awesome!! it just coils up outside it worked out just fine

    • @jbr555s
      @jbr555s  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would definitely help a lot I don't know if it's a really really hot humid summer if it would get it down below 78 or 79° because of the size of yours. mine is 1000 ft.² and it works great. You could always start with one and if you feel like you need another one add one more and you're covered completely. as for the heat, you get a lot colder than we do so you might check with Mr Cool because I believe they have one that has extra heating but I don't know how big it goes. mine never has any problem in Vegas even when it's 30° outside in the winter I can turn it on it does whatever I need to

    Very cool. No pun intended. Couple of questions if you don't mind. How has the mini-split performed so far? I'm in Phoenix and am just about to have an RV garage built (24x50). Also, what is the cost comparison between the blue pine and drywall? The pine looks nice, but it seems like it would be pricey. The garage looks great.

    • @jbr555s
      @jbr555s  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It still works perfect. I use it to turn on the heat when it gets down to 30° if I want to do something in the garage. And then in the summers it works flawlessly the app is terrific and makes it easy I can turn it on when I leave work and that way it's whatever temperature I want to be when I get home. I can't remember what price it was I got the blue pine from Home Depot but yes it was way more than drywall and it would probably be a whole lot more now with the price of wood. Thank u. I highly recommend Mr. cool mini split super impressed

      It still works awesome!! Winter when it gets down to 30° and in the summer when it’s up to 110° like today. it’ll cool my Garage anytime I turn it on just like an air conditioner in a car almost. Finding someone to install it you’ll need two things someone that will Do the electrical and then someone to put it up on the wall and place the outdoor unit. Me and a friend just watched a TH-cam video for Mr Cool and It was super easy to install the unit and I had an electrician do the other part. You probably won’t find an air-conditioning person to do the whole thing because it’s too quick and easy and they won’t make enough money at it. Especially this time of the year in Vegas with this heat.

    • @jbr555s
      @jbr555s  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It works incredibly good! it’ll be 110 outside and i’ll leave work turn the air conditioning on with my app, a hour later it’s exactly where ever I want it to be. Keep in mind though I have spray foam in the entire garage. Purchase one if it’s not enough then you can purchase another one. The one I have does the entire garage perfect.

      Thx man! Triple H construction. They are little slow on response time and communication but you can trust them 100%. CJ is the guy in charge. In Las Vegas the process is you have to get some engineering work done in architecture stuff done before you break ground and believe me I did tons of research to figure out a way around doing all that but you have to for the permitting. That’ll cost you 10 to 20 grand before you break ground for the engineer and architect. Let me know if you got any other questions
