Newcomers and people who haven't played any games since PD extend because of a lack of hardware. The early games had like 20-30 songs, so by those standards 111 is an awesome deal.
sadly won't happen as much as i would love it. Sakurai has stated time and time again that its video game characters only. She's a mascot of a voice synthesizer program. (she existed long before the Project Diva games). It's the same reason why anime characters won't ever be in Smash. Smash is about the celebration of video game characters (as Sakurai stated himself) Plus the legal hurdles between Yamaha and Sega.
I have played the versions for PS Vita and I'm so pumped for this one. I played the demo a couple of time and I'm definitely getting the pack with all songs!!! 😍😍😍
Visited my family today and my younger sister was playing a miku game on the ps5 think it’s project x . Ask if there’s one on the switch when i gave it a try, we found out yeah and it was this one with the mega pack bundle with the game for 48$. She instantly got it cause she loves Miku and playing handheld. I even got the game cause i love rhythm games 😂
A little late, but I'll take it. I gotta say, the joy cons don't make this the most comfortable to play in handheld, but it's neat to finally have a traditional Diva game on a Nintendo Platform.
Yeah! I was happy when they announced a true Diva entry on the Switch, vs just Mirai on 3DS.. I dislike Mirai, but it's what we had, and I played it some, but I have all the PSP/PS3/PS4/PSVita versions so I was playing those until MegaMIX dropped.
Try the demo man. It has catchy tunes and the gameplay is really good. Especially on higher difficulty where it follows the beat almost 1:1. Really fun stuff. I’d say its on par with guitar hero when it comes to fun.
im late but its so funny seeing both replies be polar opposite 😂 “oh this game is actually kinda good try the demo” “this game comes from the spawns of hell try the demo to see what i mean”
Seriously? Dang... Glad I'm looking around and didn't buy anything yet. I still have my psp and Project Diva 2nd (69 songs) and unfortunately fully in Japanese so I still sometimes forget what the menus mean if it's been a while. I thought about it and love having the handheld option which is why I would think about the Switch version if I do get it and not Project Diva F (70 songs only but a full 60 bucks). 100+ songs for 40 or 50 is definitely worth it cause old and new songs.
Really can't justify buying this... I have ALL the previous games, including Future Tone with an arcade controller. This game only has about 10 new songs, and doesn't add anything else that is significant... They are just milking the series at this point. Neat for newcomers, but not worth it at all for longtime fans. It's not the first time it's portable either, the Vita had 3 games, as wel as the (admittedly aged) psp, but still.
You're not wrong but im not gonna lie I got more into this one for some reason aha. Though PSA It still does that trash where you have to beat Hard to unlock the fun difficulties and the new touch screen mode is also trash The joy con buttons are just so good since they're all separated, and portable play is amazing. I have it on Vita too but who really carries that with them anymore lol. I think the pick up and play nature of it is just better on Switch lol it's easy to just quickly pick up and play for 5 minutes. Ps4 you have to commit a little more lol I set the icons to be arrows that are the same colour as the PlayStation buttons which is a super nice touch aha playing with ABXY was beyond frustrating
It know has 11 DLC pack. With 2 bundle packs to save money, instead of buying each separately. With a 3rd season of packs coming. I'd say its more than worth it. At least now anyways
Nice, I'll get it in the future for sure! From time to time, I'm still playing Project Mirai DX on the 3DS, so I'll get this one too, to have Vocaloid songs also on my Switch.
I’m not a fan of rhythm games but I always wanted to this game. I’m afraid I’ll be frustrated though like with other similar games but the art style is so adorable.
Thank you for reviewing this game without any bias, but as an aforementioned veteran to the Project Diva series, I found it distracting that you didn't have the song's on screen audio playing sync'd up with the note chart that was being played... if that makes sense whatsoever. Pretty much the entire time it was "Catch The Wave"'s audio. Another somewhat small nitpick is that you didn't show off any "HARD" mode charts, and I'm aware that not everyone is a veteran like myself since game 1 on PSP (I'm assuming you guys at NL aren't), but it would have been nice to represent some gameplay above "NORMAL" vs just showcasing "EASY" and "NORMAL". Lastly for the nitpicks, the game indeed does run smoothly with all the decisions Sega made when developing the game, but there are songs where the framerate is both 30 fps and 60 fps at the same time. What do I mean by that? Well, in some songs, like "Senbonzakura" for example when and where there are several characters on screen dancing around, the PV (Promotional Video/Background video) runs at 30 fps, where as the actual note chart pattern runs at 60 fps. It doesn't really deter from gameplay, but that's just a fun fact in case you didn't know that. I've had this installment since its Japanese release (I got the 10th anniversary edition/limited edition bundle from retailer AmiAmi.com) back on its release on February 13th of this year and I admittedly haven't been playing it super much, but when I do get the mind set to play I enjoy the living *ahem* out of it. It's quite literally yes a sister game to the PS4's and Arcade's Future Tone, but I also consider it to basically be a slightly watered down port of Future Tone from PS4 to Nintendo Switch. You can argue with me on that if you'd like, but that's how it feels for me. Lastly, I'm sad that among the 135+ songs available (with DLC factored into that number) it doesn't have some Future Tone staples like "High School Days -Diva Edit-" or other fan favorites. Anyway, thanks again, and thanks again for reviewing this game with no bias.
sometimes wish there was an option to speed up the buttons slightly so they get spread out a little bit instead of sometimes being on top of each other - unless there is and i havent messed around with the options enough
I won’t buy any rhythm game for the switch anymore because they all have input lag. Taiko no tatsujin, Xonic Beat and all the others are just unplayable via buttons.
Orogoth of course I tried the pro controller via cable but it’s the same lag AND the random UP inputs on the D.Pad. Almost forgot about it. Thx for reminding me why I didn’t use to play Tetris 99 with it :(
This game kinda sucks tbh. PS4’s future tone is a lot better with more songs and better graphics. ig it’s good for portable future tone but not worth the price.
I dont trust this reviewer at all. I played the demo and this game is god awful. Id give it a 3/10. And thats being generous. Its the bare minimum for what qualifies as a rhythm game.

Next dlc smash character right there

I got 4 notifications about people’s Xenoblade Chronicles DE review going up along with this one, but here I am! ❤️
LITERALLY ONE OF THE BEST RYTHEM GAMES OUT THERE O^O
No. It would be Pop n Music, Dance Dance Revolution and Taiko no tatsujin, in exactly this order.

Finally a man of culture reviewing this gem.
If I can get over the vocaloid singing, I think would really enjoy this one! I have never played a game in this series before.

Mad I can't do mix mode on the lite doe
You're not missing much... Sega I feel only added that in to make it somewhat unique and not a complete/direct port.
Thank you for showing all the vocaloids! appreciate it :) Some songs have vocal change its awesome!
Great pick for your favourite song Zion :)
I’m sad because we didn’t get a physical version in North America :(

All the Switch needs now is the Persona Dancing games
And Mother trilogy
I think i got my anime fill for the day now
Miku has some better dance moves than me tho

1:51 is that nostalgia.....welp I know what song I'm binging
Excellent review
you forgot to mention the fact that you can just listen to the music and have a portable concert that you can fit into your pocket.

Is there an option for arrows instead of Nintendo buttons?
Yes.
currently trying to 100% this game (yes really) I am forty hours in and am at thirty five percent.... AAAHHH!!
Oh man I was on the fence but I can switch the buttons to look like the Playstation? Omg that's great!
How does Miku have better dancing than everyone in the world
Are the notes the same on the physical version?
Dropping by to show some ❤️
Is the dlc worth it if you buy it seperately

This game feels amazing on PS4. I dislike my joy con controller so would probably only get this if I was getting a pro controller also
The animated PVs are my favorite
And you can Switch from letters to Arrows. Great for us DDR game folks.
i just want them to include gakupo and gumi :(
GUMI is not owned by the same company as Miku is.

IMO only the new songs look good in the new style. may just be me and my years on PS4 and arcade.
missing to many great songs from future tone

Not sure about those other ones, but Mega Mix does have an input lag calibration option to fix that.
Dawson Armstrong That didn’t help at any game because of the ultra slow and cheap BT connection.
Wouldn't a wired connection help in this case?

I'm not so sure about buying. I can already get all the songs on the internet. The game doesn't seem worth $40-$60. :|
Well now it is half off on the eshop for the regular version and version with extra dlc. So I'm getting it.
