@@Heartlesschordz Its about Miku being in a Romeo and Juliet type of relationship but she doesn't want it to end with them dying like Romeo and Juliet but wants it to end with a happily ever after like Cinderella. To sum it up basically.

Just for those who can't take it seriously, yes the lyrics for this song definitely include sexual content, but it also perfectly depicts young love as well. From the desires of wanting to leave with the person you love, to taking the first steps of leaving your innocent childhood, to even having your dad despise the one you truly have feelings for. The lyrics are more than just lewd desires, but an actual masterpiece in the sense that teenage love is exactly like this.
Yeah, but I have to disagree on the teenage love part. The song is about a toxic relationship. Miku realizes that her lover doesn't love her back as much as she does. And due to her childhood and lack of love from her parents, she is seeking unhealthy affection from this guy, who eventually leaves her after she gets pregnant. She can't live without him, but so she is blind to see that he isn't the one to rescue her.
Golden axe is also a quote from romeo and juliet, romeo is responding to the Prince after he is exiled instead of being killed for killing Tybalt. "Thou cuts my head off with a golden axe" (something along those lines), he's saying how being separated from juliet is equal to dying. Just some context :)
that's one of the moral's but the real moral is that your lies may lead to the "wolf" the end of your relationship, but she keeps lying to be with him so she's taking chances
I really dislike how people just viewed this song as a song about sex. It is not ENTIRELY based on sex. Yes it does have sexual themes, but it is actually a beautiful song with a deeper meaning. If you analyzed the lyrics carefully, it has a whole different story than you think. It tells the story of a girl in love with a boy, but they seem to be at a young age, and her parents do not like their relationship. They meet up secretly every night, but even so, she longs to just run away from her home with the boy, but she remains trapped there. She said to herself that one day she will run away like Juliet/Cinderella, and she will leave a glass slipper with the intentions of wanting the boy to find her and save her from the "wolf", the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. In other words, the "wolf" is the end of their relationship. It is called "Romeo and Cinderella" because she wants to have a happy ending, unlike Juliet who had a tragic ending. That is why she would rather be Cinderella, who had a good ending. This is just my interpretation of the song though. It can be interpreted in other ways. Nonetheless, the song is beautiful.

honestly really think this song has a interesting meaning! It seems like a naive teen girl wanting sex and romance and the fairytale life desperately, as many girls grow up thinking. But she fears an unhappy non fairytale ending. She's young and uncertain and maybe a bit foolish. At least I see it that way, there are other interpretations :)
I think it is a song about a young teen girl as suggested by her school uniform and she has a "romeo" that she loves that her parents dont approve of but she wants a happy ending of Cinderella and not the tragic ending of Juliet .She lies to her parents about the relationship and continues it.Also I think that the guy is wayy older and is preying on her as she is a minor(I think even in the Shakespearean play Romeo was much older?) However as the song progresses on she realises she lost her virginity to a guy that was only preying on her and in a fit of passion rather than actually loving her (" even if you bite me and it hurts you love me right ?" these lyrics suggest that) ..The guy leaves her and she realises that she was living in a world of lies(The fairytale world she wanted to live in ).Her lies to her parents makes her have regrets ... The wolf ("the romeo" or the preying bastard) gobbled up her happy dreams("Cinderella") and is probably going to go after more innocent girls who dont know any better(i.e Juliets). I know the golden axe in the lyrics probably means something else but I just like to think that she killed him with a knife and calls it a golden axe(in the story the woodcutter gets a golden axe even if he dropped a wooden one of not much worth so she was able to get something fairytale like even if it is useless in the grand scheme of things just like how a golden axe is not really useful for cutting trees and in that case the wooden axe is more practical) as atleast some wishful revenge she was able to get and prevent any more "juliets" .
If you listen to the lyrics, here is the main "plot" of the story/song: A teenage girl likes this guy and wants to be with him. One night, they want to "go far" (O_O) and she wants her parents to not see them or else they will separate them for eternity, just like the love story of Romeo and Juliet, where they can't be together. ~the end
I remember listening to those songs when I was too young to really get what she was talking about.. so many memories...the good old day when my biggest problem was that's donjon in the legend of Zelda that's I couldn't finish...
it's actually a really simple outfit! if you know someone who knows stitching/tailoring you can show a cosplay of it to them or directly the model and maybe they can help. if you know sewing, you can even do it yourself.
'teenage secks so naughty xD' meme aside, can we actually talk about how legitimately ingenious the allegory in this song is? Like, goddamn This is among the most symbolically significant and accurate depictions of teenage love that I have ever seen represented in Vocaloid music Every aspect of the picture it paints illustrates another aspect of the mentality of the love-stricken teenage girl From the fact that throughout the song it continually refers to various fairytale stories, which represents her childishly idealistic approach to love as well as underlines her inexperience To all the little comments she makes that betray her petulant expectations of a relationship To the rebellious and obstinate mindset that she maintains, holding onto the feeling of her passion beyond anything else, even when she is confronted with the reality of her situation at the end she delusionally holds onto her conviction that her feelings are the sole codifier of what makes the love a reality I deeply admire the poetic ingenuity that doriko used to deal with these themes And I would like to hear what everyone else thinks about it
I'm late but, yeah. I agree with your comments. but really, the thing I love about vocaloid's music especially ones that specifically made for Miku is the deep meaning and all the analogies the creators use for the songs. More often than not Miku's songs contrast the lyric. like this Romeo and Cinderella, Saihate, Two Faced Lovers and One Thousand Stars just to name a few. those songs are sort of cheerful and catchy even though the meaning is just too sad or gritty... It annoyed me sometimes that most ppl would not catch the meaning of these songs because they're too caught up to the surface symbolism. I remember getting annoyed that One Thousand Stars was viewed as not worthy to be in concert because it was supposed to be a cheerful concert and yet the song winner is talking about depression and suicide. The thing these ppl don't understand is the culture in Japan is different. in Two Faced Lovers there's this whole notion about a girl who lost her way to see what love is because she had been betrayed therefore she just goes "to the other way". The thing I love about Japanese creators is that they actually try to tell ppl how Japan really is in the eyes of its citizen through these songs and it's not all kittens and rainbows in daily Japan. Also I hate it sometimes when ppl scoffed at vocaloid's music because they encountered the badly made one (and the fact that vocaloid is just a program, therefore not "an artist" in their mind) before listening to the better produced ones.
My mom: what’s this song about? Me: oh it’s just about a girl who can’t be with a guy because of her parents Also me: *pleasedontreadthelyricspleasedontreadthelyricspleasedontreadthelyrics*
8 year old me: *not thinking much about the song and just vibing to it* Present 13 year old me: *I feel like there’s a not so family friendly meaning in this song*
It's true though. In Japanese culture, sex isn't as taboo of a subject to talk about as it is here. Rather, violence is basically their version of how sexual content is treated here. That's why, for example, the Dead or Alive series (a fighting game that is known for fanservice if you are unaware) is not as frowned upon over there. Meanwhile, you ask someone about Mortal Kombat over there and they'll likely have no no idea what you're talking about...because it's banned in Japan.
I honestly love reading the interpretations of this song in the comments. I love this song so much and what it talks about, but I feel like I can't fully comprehend the meaning behind it as I am just about as mature as the girl in this song😆😂 also this song feels so romantic and sad and confusing and mysterious and everything it's just so gooddd ^~^

this is such a beautiful song imo. a young teen girl explores her sexuality, while having her parents not support the person shes with; while still exploring herself and finding out who she really is. god, its so good in a way i cant explain.
The Lain profile picture checks out! This song is so special, you really brought it to words!!! She wants to be forever together with the one she loves while finding herself and exploring sexuality, she's worried about it. Such an amazing song
I know people will be uncomfortable with the fact that they're talking about sex, but this song handled it in a mature way, between two people who love each other and want their relationship to thrive. It's not like the "bitches and hoes" kinds of song.
***** I'm not saying it's deep, I'm just saying it's not just a "fuck bitches" kind of song. The reason why she mentions her parents is because the cakes she talked about and the caramel are representations of love: her "mother's cakes" are the love she's received from a mother to a daughter, the "enchanting but choking caramel" is the affection she's receiving from her lover, romantic feelings that she's never experienced before. The approach is a lot more mature is what I'm trying to say.
+TheChildofAuraReborn The song isn't even about sex though, it's about two teenagers who love each other, and want to be with each other, however the parents of the girl do not like the guy, so they are doing everything in their power to keep her from him. Yes, sex is mentioned, but the song is not about sex at all, in any way.
@smiles_90 Yeah, she really is the best. She's always down to play games when not working. Like Mario Party. And she loves RPGs too. We both adore Legend of Dragoon, and pray every day that it gets remade.
So here I am, returning after 6 years when I first heard this song and find out vocaloids exist.
@@nobitanobi3475 I totally agree! Although, I think I actually thought the Golden Axe was just her virginity, so to speak?
True.
I like this interpretation! Good eye.
If you listen to the lyrics, here is the main "plot" of the story/song:
A teenage girl likes this guy and wants to be with him. One night, they want to "go far" (O_O) and she wants her parents to not see them or else they will separate them for eternity, just like the love story of Romeo and Juliet, where they can't be together.
~the end
But Miku doesn't want to be seen as Juliet so she says she's Cinderella... :v
then that means that she doesnt want to be known with that type of a tragedy in her life. so she calls herself Cinderella instead
Rosalie Ackerman she wants her love stpry to be like romeo and juliet but the ending to be like cinderella
Yeah, pretty ironic. I was wondering what if Romeo fell in love with Cinderella, it would be a completely different story right?
Nice.

'teenage secks so naughty xD' meme aside, can we actually talk about how legitimately ingenious the allegory in this song is?
Like, goddamn
This is among the most symbolically significant and accurate depictions of teenage love that I have ever seen represented in Vocaloid music
Every aspect of the picture it paints illustrates another aspect of the mentality of the love-stricken teenage girl
From the fact that throughout the song it continually refers to various fairytale stories, which represents her childishly idealistic approach to love as well as underlines her inexperience
To all the little comments she makes that betray her petulant expectations of a relationship
To the rebellious and obstinate mindset that she maintains, holding onto the feeling of her passion beyond anything else, even when she is confronted with the reality of her situation at the end she delusionally holds onto her conviction that her feelings are the sole codifier of what makes the love a reality
I deeply admire the poetic ingenuity that doriko used to deal with these themes
And I would like to hear what everyone else thinks about it
Faithful Fox Finaly someone Who comments about those lyrics.
:D
I agree. That's why I love Vocaloid, because most of the lyrics of songs are very well written.
I agree, and the more I listen this song, the more I'm amazed by how well it's written... And the more I feel shy listening it..

Two things:
1. The lyrics to this song are so emotional!
2. WHY IS THIS SONG IN PROJECT MIRAI, WHICH WAS ADVERTISED IN JAPAN ON CHILDREN'S TV?
japanese people are not scared of sex
but it isn’t based on sex-
@@NecroCh if they aren't scared of sex, why don't they teach it in school?
It's true though. In Japanese culture, sex isn't as taboo of a subject to talk about as it is here. Rather, violence is basically their version of how sexual content is treated here.
That's why, for example, the Dead or Alive series (a fighting game that is known for fanservice if you are unaware) is not as frowned upon over there. Meanwhile, you ask someone about Mortal Kombat over there and they'll likely have no no idea what you're talking about...because it's banned in Japan.
I accidentally played this video on my big TV in front of a 7 year old. That's when i realize the lyrics....

that’s the meaning?? Wow

This song is so special, you really brought it to words!!! She wants to be forever together with the one she loves while finding herself and exploring sexuality, she's worried about it. Such an amazing song
Alright that explains
(i wont share to mvperry about this one lol bc he said he also don't understand the song so no snitch)
It's quite a bit darker than that. Romeo died, Cinderella didn't. Pretty sure Miku is a yandere in this one, given how dark vocaloid tends to be.
Maybe get a relationship and you could explain it
今までもこれからも1番好きなボカロ
Hmm... maybe is this the reason why project diva got rated T
all these dirtyness created us
+TheChildofAuraReborn The song isn't even about sex though, it's about two teenagers who love each other, and want to be with each other, however the parents of the girl do not like the guy, so they are doing everything in their power to keep her from him. Yes, sex is mentioned, but the song is not about sex at all, in any way.
Ven Kainz I know, but I said "they're talking about sex", I didn't say the whole song was about sex.
