SensiblePrepper i agree, the only thing we really do differently is that i edc a g19 every day. I dont actually own a smaller gun. But the new gen 5 g26 is very tempting after your review.
My edc: - Hi point C-Money with extendo clipazine - Track phone - Oil spill butterfly knife - Keys to my 93 Civic with enough bling to start a country - Money clip with enough cash for a colt .45 if I get the thirst - 12 rubbers - Golf pencil - Watch i got from the last fool who got lost in my hood.
2018 EDC in the UK: A good leather belt I’ve had for 5 years now, Mobile phone, Casio G-Shock classic (GR-8900A-1ER) watch (solar powered, no battery and keeps great time), Access Denied (RFID blocking) wallet which includes all relevant licenses, debit cards, cash and an ICE card with contact details, Olight S1 mini baton flashlight (sometimes swapped out for an ATactical A1 flashlight), Usually two lighters, Keychain which includes an inexpensive flathead and cross head keychain attachment, Glasses (so I can see), A USB memory stick, Chapstick for the cold windy weather on the coast here, Sentimental item: my signet ring from my family is on every day not useful but it’s there every day. Then, only when doing work around the house, I will carry a multi-tool, When I go out anywhere I try to take a sharpie pen with me as well. I don’t carry a tourniquet on my person, but there is always one in the building either at home or in my bag when I’m at work or on the go. I agree with you Sootch, it feels lovely unloading everything at the end of the day onto the side and feeling lighter! Great video keep it up!!
Sensible Prepper: I really enjoy your videos. Prepping and the idea of being prepared for the unexpected all the time sometimes seems to strike the wrong idea in people like we’re radical fanatics who are waiting for the world to end. That’s not it at all. We just realize that things happen sometimes, emergency situations are never expected but do occur whether they’re manmade or natural. Personally, I like to carry the following 5 items with me on my person at all times: A bandana (use as a breathing filter if there’s smoke, filter water, tie up wounds, etc). A simple but bright and efficient flashlight, preferably one with a pocket clip. A pocket knife with a smooth and serrated blade. Preferably one with a window smasher button on the bottom end, and a seatbelt blade hook for quick release if you’re in an accident Cordage, usually in the form of a paracord bracelet And a zippo lighter, for obvious reasons. Those 5 items, I feel are the essentials to get you through a lot of predicaments
Besides my edc firearm, I generally add a Surefire rechargeable flashlight, a Benchmade folding knife and a Swiss Army (Victorinox) Tinker model, cell phone in a Maxpedition case with an ink pen and a spare Mophie battery pack for my phone. I usually include a DSM banner (Don't Shoot Me) in a pouch clipped to my belt as well to aid in being recognized as a good guy by LEO's should the need arise. Of course I also have a couple spare magazines for my pistol. I can carry all this because I use a heavy duty laminated belt, usually a Gould &Goodrich. Without it, I would be lost. I have found that a good belt is absolutely essential to comfort and avoiding back pain as well as not having to hitch up your belt every few minutes. Love your videos, Don. You're my favorite TH-camr. I watch your stuff even if I could care less about the topic because you make it so entertaining.
It's nice to see a nice simple EDC that isn't loaded with guns and knives. I watched a few where they had 4 guns and 8 knives. It was crazy and made no sense.
M-F in my office at work in my "lunch bag": cell, Busnell Flash light, S&W folder, Aitor Utility knife, small pack of band-aids, thick Sharpie, Gel pen, small notebook, wallet , small roll of paracord, and a small tube of superglue. I smoke so I always have some kind of fire, my LCP 2 with one extra mag, cigs, at least 2 cigars, and my Xikar cutter. I love the comfort of Propper pants. They have pockets everywhere you need them. Especially the one at 6 o'clock. If not at work, one sidearm (varies on what time of year and wear I am going and how I have to dress) flashlight, knife, wallet, and of course cigs, cigars, and cutter and fire.
Pistol: custom Glock 19 with spare magazine +2 basepads and Surefire XC1b Holster: T Rex Arms appendix sidecar Fighting knife:CRKT minimalist Neck knife:CRKT minimalist Utility knife: Benchmade Griptilian Light: Streamlight Stylus Pro Phone: IPhone 8(probably my most important EDC item) Keys: Mazda 3 FOB Wallet: Fox wallet Belt: Ares Aegis enhanced belt(good belt pulls my entire system together) Thanks for the video Sootch
Sadly I live in Germany where I am not allowed to carry a firearm or one hand folders. So I carry on the daily basis: -Smartphone -Keys in a "carbocage" -Leatherman "Juice S2" (Multitool) -Fenix "PD31" (Flashlight) -Zebra F-701 (Pen) -Manly Comrade (slipjoint folder) or -Eskabar by Kabar and ESEE (Smal fixed blade) -G-Shock G2900 (wristwatch) for work or -Suunto Core (wristwatch) after work This is basically all I need and sometimes even 2 much. Of course depending on activity and weather I have sunglasses, car keys, bike lock keys and such stuff with me.
Great vid, love ZT knives too. My favorite is the 0804CF, and leatherman surge when I'm not at work. If I'm at work I usually carry the 0550 and surge.
I’ve been carrying the OLight S1 baton mini for almost a month now both as edc and as a small back up flashlight for myself for patrol while working as a Police Officer. I also edc my HK USP 45c, crossbreed supertuck with crossbreed belt, spyderco para 3 my cell phone keys and wallet
Gun - Shield or PPS M2 Holster - Bravo concealment DOS Extra mag in a BC mag holster Knife - mini-griptillian or delica4 Multi tool - Leatherman wingman Phone - Galaxy S7 in Magpul case Light - Olight S1 baton And just a Fossil watch & wallet Stuff like pens, lighters, ifak etc. I carry in my 5.11 Moab 6 that I also have with me.
I walk everyday in the city and I carry my Glock 42/380 w/2 extra clips, Kershaw spring assist knife w/clip, iPhone, small wallet, and water. Thinking of getting a Glock like yours! I’m in Atlanta grew up in SC. Thanks sir!
Sensible presentation. If I may suggest for your "thin" summer carry, an S&W 9 Shield and upgrading the magazines from 7 and 8 rounds to either 8 and 9 rounds or even 9 and 10 rounds with a Mag Guts magazine spring kit. The Shield can then carry a flat base mag with 8 rounds (9 in the handgun) and have a back-up of 10 round mag in your pocket or belt mag holster or add it to the pistol for a total of a nice flat gun with 11 rounds contained therein. I have a 9 Shield with a Green CTC Laser sight which tucks nicely into a Kydex Blade Tech with an Ulticlip.
Firearm: sig c3, g19, czspo1, or g26 Belt: black alien gear Pepper spray Pocket clip mag holder Watch: Nike sports watch or various fossils iPhone Knives: kershaw, kizer, bestech, twosun, or we knive. No offhand blade at the moment Lighter Lip balm Keys with keychain flashlight Minimalist wallet Paracord bracelet
S&W 686+, benchmade 940, snap on pen light, leatherman wave with home made bit kit, swiss gear minimalist wallet and a relentless tactical gun belt (excellent belt highly recommended)
My EDC at work is: Glock 19 and two spare mags, Emerson Commander, Spyderco Cara Cara 2, phone, keys, wallet, Casio G-Shock, Springfield compact XD 9 with one spare mag. Plus baton, Streamlight, taser, ex... Off duty is the Springfield or a Ruger LCP II, Spyderco or Emerson lock blade, Olight S1 Baton Mini, Casio G-Shock and extra mag for either gun, wallet.
Keep up the good work, liked the vid. My EDC: Browning Government .380, spare mag, Cold Steel Kubon, Spyderco Police folder, small IFAK, Leatherman Super Tool. In the truck: CZ Evo 3 Skorpion 9mm, six 30 round mags, two large high lumen patrol type flash lights, & a pair of hand cuffs. Of course, a smart cell phone.
Thanks for the video! Since you asked ... I carry a S&W made Walther PPK, stainless, appendix carry. I have, and love, a Gen 4 Glock 26, but I have become concerned about 9 mm over-penetration as a result of watching Paul Harrell's channel. I use Hornady Critical Defense .380 ammo in it. Harrell got great expansion results with .380 HCD on his meat target. I carry a Benchmade SOCP fixed blade knife weak-hand at the 11 o'clock position IWB. I carry a small, Walmart bushnell 150 lum tactical torch and a zippo lighter. I use a slimline leather wallet. I don't know who made it. I carry a minimal key chain. It has a Leatherman PS4 Squirt attached. I carry a handcuff key in addition to my house and car keys. I carry a Zebra all steel ballpoint pen and a thin Moleskine notebook with detachable pages, maybe 30 pages. It's about the size of a 3x 5 card. I carry a Gerber Mini-Covert Spring-assisted knife, handkerchief, small Altoids tin, and an iPhone SE.
Ruger LCP, knife, keys (cheap keybar knock off from Walgreens worked for 2-3 years no problem), wallet, iPhone, lighter, small off brand flashlight, ink pen, guitar picks, Apple watch or heavy duty watch with built in compass
Okay, not going to go into the weapons I carry. Just don't want to mention those on an open to the public forum such as TH-cam. Left, Back pocket of pants: Typically some sort of tactical pen clipped to the very left of the pocket seam. Such pens are usually very durable. So no worries regarding breaking them or having the ink leak into your pocket. Lately it's been the same Battle Box pen shown in the video. Will soon be trying out the main one made by CRKT. Also, two stiff paper towels. Left, Back pocket: Bandana (so incredibly useful), car key fob attached to an old-fashioned brass belt-loop clip. (Hand picked by me at the hardware store), Powertac E2 single-AA light. (Ugly! But incredibly pragmatic. Perfect U.I. for me. Clipped to the very right of the pocket seam.) Right, Front pants pocket: Ontario Rat2 clipped to the top of the pocket. (Tip-up carry.) Excellent EDC knife. Sharp, 90-degree spine perfect for use with a fero rod. Black handle, black clip on black pants, practically invisible to the sheeple. (Mustn't scare the little children in adult bodies. No, no, no....) One-piece leather wallet from a company in England that holds all of my cards, I.D., registration, etc. Thin, very comfortable. Tube of Classic ChapStick. Ridiculously fragile garage door opener fob wrapped in layers of plastic. (I live in a Co-op and share the large, open, indoor garage with 42 other neighbors. I offered to pay for my own fob, but building management refused. Honestly, decided this wasn't a fight worth the aggravation and headache involved.) Brass money clip. Traditional, nothing fancy. I got it for a couple of bucks at a 4th rate stationary store. My oldest EDC item. Easily over a decade if not close to two that I've carried it. The back cover of a memo sized Moleskin that opens from the side. The skinny type that comes 3 to a pack. But not the mini version. Take some electrical tape, reinforce the cover. Now you have a thin, long "wallet." I keep emergency cash in it. Usually a $50 bill in case there's ever an emergency and I need to bribe someone into helping me. And a couple of $20s as well. Last item in that pocket is a 1976 bicentennial quarter for good luck. (Though I might swap that out with a half ounce junk gold coin. Yes, also for bribery purposes in an emergency). Let's face it, bribery works FAR better than relying on the kindness of your fellow Man when you desperately need help. Left, Front pocket: Two single use packets of Wet-ones travel wipes. One mini Rite-In-Rain notepad. On the belt: (Always a thick black leather belt with traditional buckle.) Left side, up front is a Nite-Ize fake leather smartphone case carried sideways. Kyocera Hydro smartphone in it. Case is a bit tight for the phone. But so far this case is hands down the best aftermarket one I've ever found. On the right side of the belt, also near the front is my house keys on a Bauhaus titanium carabineer clip. Small, electronic key fob for the lobby doors, two keys for my front door, and finally a Photon Freedom light. However, just yesterday I replaced it with a S.S. Fenix 10180 USB rechargeable light. Normally I hate rechargeable lights. When I need them, they let me down! But will give this one a fair shake. If I end up hating it, I've got a black Klarus Mi6 single-AAA light waiting to take the Fenix's spot on my keyring. It's nearly double the length of the Fenix. But is easily one of the smallest and shortest single-AAA lights I've ever found. And if that one turns out to be crap, screw it! I've still got my reliable as Hell Photon Freedom that I can clip right back on my keyring.
My edc 2 considerations: carriying a blade is illegal here, and guns are completely illegal too So -Right pocket front side keychain on a paracord suspension clip, with keys (leather sheath) olight aaa flashlight, opinel n2, a flint and steel, flash drive A kubotan with a lanyard A uzi tac pen -Left pocket front side: Small notebook Phone with reinforced case and tempered glass Earphones -back pocket right Leather wallet -back pocket left Sparrows "creeper" lockpick set -belt, left side Leatherman rebar -watch:seiko kinetik 100m with a nato strao
i am a small frames man so i can't really carry a lot. i typically have a pocket knife (cheap auto store brand) an old leatherman pst II tool i got in the 90's, G-shock watch, keys, wallet, and i switch between an XDs in .45 acp or S&W model 32.
Smith and Wesson 642 with a speed loader. Both with hornady critical defense. Leatherman rev, cree mini torch, Kershaw cqc11k, leather wallet. In summer I switch the 642 for a keltec p3at with an extra mag and the cqc11k swaps for a Kershaw ososweet.
Could you make a video on what you would carry as edc when you are out of the country? Many things has to be considered as some other countries don't allow firearms and big folders.
Mr. Sootch. Great array for your EDC. However, just like a Bic lighter for fire, I am surprised that in your array, a small inconsequential, until you really need it, good "pin-type" compass wasn't included. Thank you Sir, for your hard work in producing these types of videos. Oscar
My EDC hasnt really changed in a long time partially due to lack of funds and partially due to having no issues with what i carry. First off i'm Canadian so unfortunately i cant carry a firearm but i have a cold steel roach belly on my hip, a gerber dime and a thrunite T01 as well as a bandana but i also have a go bag in my trunk at all times
cool video thanks Don! My EDC is rather two-faced because I live in VA but work in DC which has very strict laws that often limit what I can carry. But on weekends in VA I carry the following: Gen4 Glock 19 loaded with Speer 124gr +P Gold Dot hollow points in a Crossbreed Supertuck IWB holster, a spare 15 round mag in Crossbreed IWB mag pouch, a Crossbreed Gun Belt, a Spyderco Endura 4 FFG knife, a Leatherman S2 Juice multitool, a Surefire 6PX Tactical or 4Sevens AA2 flashlight (usually the Surefire though), a 4sevens Preon 1 mini flashlight on my keychain, keys, iphone with magpul case, wallet, a pen to write with, my insulin pen, and blood sugar test kit (I'm type 1 diabetic). when I go to work I can't carry the gun, knife, or full size flashlights, but I usually will still have the keychain light and the Leatherman S2 as long as I'm not going to any government buildings. Not a perfect system but it seems to get the job done.
You have everything else, so probably don’t need on, but it doesn’t take much room, you should check out the lighter bro for bic lighters. Has a sharp knife blade, small screwdriver, and scissors. Can also get a pocket clip for it. I use mine literally everyday for the past few years. Also has a bottle opener on it. Best multi tool I ever spent money on.....
As always your EDC is very sound. I too carry similar items: I carry a full size Sig P220 in a IWB Galco kydex, I also use a kydex (Blackhawk) double mag carrier. I use a Galco instructor’s reinforced belt. My ammo is Remington Golden Saber hollow points .45. I carry two sets of keys, a CRKT 3 inch folder(RIPPLE™ ALUMINUM Designed by Ken Onion), Swiss Army knife, and a Super Leatherman multi tool. My watch is a Seiko divers watch which is an automatic (it is a self winding watch) I’ve had this watch since 1987 and has been tough as nails. The Otterbox case is great for my phone, however, I do want to get a Magpul case when I purchase my next iPhone. The pen is a BP Zebra F-301; this is a good, thin and sturdy pen. As for a light source, I love this Fenix E12. Lastly, no matter what the weather I always have my Oakley sunglasses/eye protection. Again, this is my EDC; I NEVER leave home without these items on my person.
Used to EDC a Glock 21, that didn't last long. Got a cheap Bersa Thunder 380, but there is a slight trust issue, so now a 19. other than that I carry a windmill lighter, CRKT Williams tac pen, Brous Division(I love a full size knife), sometimes a fox karambit, MecArmy SGN3 Flashlight sometimes a streamlight microstream, or a fenix LD 02, a Leatherman wingman when I carry a multitool. I also have the same magpul phone case on my apple 5 sc or se whatever it is.and a seiko skn or my seiko quartz chrono, but I am leaning towards mechanical watches nowadays and an Ariat leather billfold that I punched a hole in and put a chain on with a back-up "peanut" brass lighter.
My EDC starts with either my Walther PPS M2 (85% of the time since Florida is hot) or my new S&W M&P M2.0 Compact (loving it, Apex trigger is otw), either my Zero Tolerance Tiger Stripe or my Spiderco Enduro, pen flashlight as well as the same G2 Pilot pen lol, I carry a lighter as well for my herbage, standard D-clip key ring since I was 10 y/o (15 years now), just ordered me a new watch from MVMT Watches so waiting on that, and a standard tri-fold leather wallet.
As always a bunch of good ideas. But you did a video with some tactical hiking boots. What was the brand of those? Or just a good pair you would recommend in general.
I EDC the Thurnite Archer 1A V2 , ZT 0770CF, SWPENMP2BK M and P 2nd Generation Tactical Pen.. And then Phone, Keys, wallet Great EDC brother! Keep up the great content
Very well thought out, Sir. My EDC: Spyderco "Delica", iPhone 4S, keys w/ Victorinox "Manager" on them, Maxpedition wallet, Chapstick, & Pelican 1910 flashlight. My watch is a titanium Casio "Pathfinder". I sometimes substitute my Leatherman "Skeletool" for the Delica. If I'm carrying, it's my Taurus TCP .380 in a pocket holster. I probably should get an extra mag.
Someting to consider are wallets that have RFID protection. Protecting your identity, credit cards, etc. is just as important as protecting your person.
Been carrying for 10 years now. My edc glock 26 with spare glock 19 mag, wallet, phone, and keys that's it. I probably should add a small flashlight, but I like to stay lightweight.
Thank you for another great video! I like your EDC setup. I don't know if I trust a magnetic coupler for my keys tho... Have you used the Amflo air hose type pull apart key rings? I have used them for years....never had one fail.
What did you do when the alarm went off in Hawaii the other day? Some claim it was not a false alarm and something was sent and that something was shot down? A video on what to do when the alarm goes off would be good.
Hey Sootch. Great EDC setup. One suggestion though. You should always carry a Tourniquet as part of your EDC. If you have the means to poke holes, you should also have the means to plug 'em. I carry a SOF-T wide tourniquet that I bought from Skinny Medic and I highly recommend it.
I carry a Glock 30sf in a JM Custom Kydex holster, a double mag holder and a Colt Cobra knife with a drop point blade, been carrying it for many years. I also carry the normal carry items like the keys, wallet, phone etc.
Clean simple direct an to the point as it should be. Although I did hollow out my belt an put a heave duty reinforced zip strip in it. It is 1/4 in wide an 36 in long plus the usual pick set/ spear key to the truck an stuff. Like you'r videos thank's.
Kore Essentials gun belt, olight, anchor wallet (steel mesh to prevent scanning), Bench-made emissary, Seiko ProSpec Diver (300m) solar powered (90 day reserve power, no batteries) diver w/5 ring NATO band & Sunnto (Finnish) compass, H&KVP9SK, TSA took my tactical pen so now I carry a Fischer Space pen SS knurled. I also like the G2 pen for personal use at home but the Fischer Space pen will write on everything at any angle and is good eye and jugular stabbing tool in solid SS.
Something I've picked up from taking courses by L.E. instructors is to always carry pepper spray or a taser of some sort if you're going to carry a gun. First off, a lot of places that don't allow guns might not bat an eye at a pocket sized can of OC spray. The second thing is that the majority of the time, if an assault occurs you wouldn't be justified in drawing your gun, but OC spray would be fine. If you're going to carry a lethal option, it's good to carry something less-lethal too in the hope that you could end the threat without having to escalate to lethal force.
Does Olight or another company make lens filters, specifically red filters for preserving night vision, for their mini LED lights? Thank you. I love this TH-cam channel! You provide a pot if useful info.
Most days EDC... Spyderco Para 3; Bernhardt Sea Shark watch; raw brass Fisher Bullet Space Pen and Midora Bullet Pencil; FREEKey Exotac system with a Victorinox Swiss Mini Champ, stainless steel Fenix E05, Victorinox compact nail clippers, Scrade SCTPT titanium pry tool and Tec P7 clip; Allett leather thin wallett; micro fiber cleaning cloth; Spec-Ops Better BDU belt. The belt, watch and knife vary day to day but everything else is constant.
I had been really wanting to get a Daltech Force bull leather belt after watching your videos. Then one day, I found a near brand new one at a thrift store for $7!
Nice, you ever checked out the Ridge wallets? Perfect for EDC. I carry a 26 gen 4 and benchmade barrage. Need a good flashlight and will acquire one soon. Thanks for sharing brother.
Phone & wallet (card knife in wallet) Marine Corps 3 1/2 inch knife Generic 2 inch knife from Autozone Bullet lighter Chapstick Keychain Generic Watch from Target Swiss Gear Belt (I’ve practiced how to use as a tourniquet) Pen If I’m driving somewhere: backpack with first aid kit and a trauma kit I put together (A folded flag and the Constitution in the back zipper for added patriotism)

Yes! The Pilot G2 has been my go to pen since the Corps! Which one of those items makes the waffles, Sootch? How ya gonna hit the fan w/no waffles? J/k man I love that little flashlight and I totally dig all leather holsters, too. Great setup and very interesting vid!
Good, don't need a lot for the city or a small town . Food, water, phone, people, emergency services , everything is pretty much there . What and how you carry is then dependent upon you, your surroundings and your carry laws . I tend to agree with you and Comrade Shadowcat . I agree with the two ( or more ) gun setup in the same caliber . Depending upon the area I would prefer a Desert Eagle in 44 Magnum and a Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk 44 Magnum ( loaded with 44 special ) or a Ruger Blackhawk Hunter loaded with 44 special . The 44 special is not as potent as a 45 Colt ,but will do just as good of a job putting a big hole in your target with less risk of over penetration . I can load the revolver with 44 Magnum at my discretion . Usually my surroundings and other factors dictate something not so potent . In which case two 1911s 45acp in double stack configuration or two single stack 1911s in either (1st) 45acp, (2nd) 38 super or (3rd ) 9mm ( everything in the same caliber ) . If I'm feeling really safe and comfortable about my surroundings then 2 Colt 1872 style (clone) SA revolvers loaded in 45Colt caliber in a shoulder rig concealed under a jacket/coat . The 45 has been getting the job done for over 💯 years and it lacks the over penetration of the other calibers such as the 357 Magnum, 9mm, 40 S&W , 357 Sig , 44 Magnum ,10mm ,etc. Like they say behind every miss or over penetrated round is an attorney . If I have to shoot someone I feel more comfortable with the 44 special and the 45 Colt aka Long Colt , or even the 45acp . I reiterate less chance of over penetration and it gets the job done .
I carry a S&W shield or S&W 642, a speed strip or extra mag, Leatherman Style PS with a Benchmade Bugout or just a Leatherman Signal, Olight S1 Baton, Trayvax Original wallet, aluminum Keybar, and a Seiko 5 field watch. Also keep a Maxpedition pouch with extra do-dads in my truck.
I carry a parachord braid on my keychain and 2 bracelets with a whistle flint &striker and a compass on it...i suggest getiing some parachord for edc...100s of use's and they are cheap so u can use them and replace it for anywhere from $1 to $10
Normal EDC for me is Saddleback leather bi-fold, Benchmade 940, Fenix LD01, iPhone 8+ with Magpul OD green field case. A carry option would be a CZ P-01 or Sphinx SDP Black both leather pancake at 4 o’clock.
You should check out the Coast Hp3r light, it's one of my favorite lights. For a lighter you should try and get a-hold of a djeep, they are super tough. Otherwise great setup.
I’m only 16 so I can’t have my concealed carry permit yet, but my edc is: Benchmade mini barrage, leatherman squirt ps4, 5.11 atac plx flashlight, crkt Williams tactical pen, armitron watch, wallet, iPhone with magpul case, and 5.11 tactical belt. Btw great video as always.
Gel pens will not freeze. They are good in the winter temperatures. And with a watch you can navigate crudely but not with a dead cell phone. You need to do a navigation video. Or did you?
I too carry a pen (Paper Mate Profile) all the time. But what do you right on? I all so carry 3 X 5 white cards all the time. My pen get borrowed, all most as often as my knife!!! Like this video. What is your favorite size and kind of cigar?
Another great video! Thanks for for time in making it! I carry an Fenix e15 flashlight. You're right too that you find yourself using the flashlight alot! Use the same pen as you. Wallet is a no name brand with blocking. Knife is a Swiss army Hunter with locking blade. It works for first responders since the gutting blade works well for cutting seatbelts. Depending upon the what, you might find the Leatherman raptor on me too. Glock 43, if pistol needed (love to know where you got that extended magazine). Have a great year!
good stuff, Don. i REALLY like that first watch. i like the other one, too, but that first one is awesome! here's my current edc: glock 19 gen 4 in a bravo concealment kydex holster extra mags in a bravo concealment mag holster g-shock master of g solar watch zero tolerance 0350ts leatherman wingman thrunite t10t daltech force bullbelt or the 5.11 operator belt
Good stuff. Walther P99 compact in Vedder Light Tuck Holster loaded with HSTs. Rat Two knife. Wallet and phone. Sometimes a flashlight. Alternate carry guns PPS M2 and Shield. That’s about it.
Rat 1 in D2 or a Leatherman Crater 33tx or a Swiss army knife, NiteCore Tip rechargeable flashlight (it's very, very small) linked with 2 small spring rings to a Gerber Dime. The Nitecore+Dime fit in watch pocket of jeans. If I'm working, I carry an 8" pliers. If I'm not working, I might carry a Leatherman Rebar. Occasionally will carry the smallest Visegrip+wirecutter in a pocket. I ground dull the sharp edges of the Visegrip to protect pocket from wear. Same occasional carry of a dulled 4" Crescent, when doing mechanical work. I hate a big keychain ball of dangly stuff. I like the idea of a keybar. I don't carry a pistol. There are times that I consider it.
Glock19 with the accuclip no holster needed. Kershaw speed safe 3". Obviously leather New Orleans Saints wallet. Keys on a lanyard mini maglite that takes one triple A battery. Then I keep a 33 Rd mag and 2 17 Rd mags in my book bag with a couple flash lights multi tool and a few other odds and ins. Also have a Taurus tpc 380 when I cant carry the 19. Also carry a bic lighter for my camel Turkish silvers lol
I swap out my watches and knives depending on what I'm doing. I don't carry my $140 Benchmade or Tissot watch if I'm working or camping. I'll switch em out for a Timex expedition and a Kershaw beater folder. If I break or lose em, I'll just be mad instead of psychotic.
Your edc really is very sensible. Seem prepared but nothing over the top.
Thanks! I put a lot of thought into it. If it's too much, it stays in the box : )
SensiblePrepper i agree, the only thing we really do differently is that i edc a g19 every day. I dont actually own a smaller gun. But the new gen 5 g26 is very tempting after your review.
The Gen 5 G19 is an excellent Carry Option. The G26 is smaller but I carry the G19 as well.
SensiblePrepper i agree. I think i may pick up at 19x as well. Only time will tell. Always a pleasure bro, god bless.
My edc:
- Hi point C-Money with extendo clipazine
- Track phone
- Oil spill butterfly knife
- Keys to my 93 Civic with enough bling to start a country
- Money clip with enough cash for a colt .45 if I get the thirst
- 12 rubbers
- Golf pencil
- Watch i got from the last fool who got lost in my hood.
Neil Smith Lol.....Very conservative economy style I get it...
This the HNIC
2018 EDC in the UK:
A good leather belt I’ve had for 5 years now,
Mobile phone,
Casio G-Shock classic (GR-8900A-1ER) watch (solar powered, no battery and keeps great time),
Access Denied (RFID blocking) wallet which includes all relevant licenses, debit cards, cash and an ICE card with contact details,
Olight S1 mini baton flashlight (sometimes swapped out for an ATactical A1 flashlight),
Usually two lighters,
Keychain which includes an inexpensive flathead and cross head keychain attachment,
Glasses (so I can see),
A USB memory stick,
Chapstick for the cold windy weather on the coast here,
Sentimental item: my signet ring from my family is on every day not useful but it’s there every day.
Then, only when doing work around the house, I will carry a multi-tool,
When I go out anywhere I try to take a sharpie pen with me as well.
Personally, I like to carry the following 5 items with me on my person at all times:
A bandana (use as a breathing filter if there’s smoke, filter water, tie up wounds, etc).
A simple but bright and efficient flashlight, preferably one with a pocket clip.
A pocket knife with a smooth and serrated blade. Preferably one with a window smasher button on the bottom end, and a seatbelt blade hook for quick release if you’re in an accident
Cordage, usually in the form of a paracord bracelet
And a zippo lighter, for obvious reasons.
I watch your stuff even if I could care less about the topic because you make it so entertaining.
i bought a daltec force belt based off your recommendation a while back, easily the best belt i've ever bought
Now that I’m I’m my 50’s I’ve added Tums to my EDC.
Eric Keeble epic
Cousin Eddie Yes, we must not discriminate against our babies even if we have our favorites. 😉
Pistol: custom Glock 19 with spare magazine +2 basepads and Surefire XC1b

-Keys in a "carbocage"
-Leatherman "Juice S2" (Multitool)

This is basically all I need and sometimes even 2 much. Of course depending on activity and weather I have sunglasses, car keys, bike lock keys and such stuff with me.
Great vid, love ZT knives too. My favorite is the 0804CF, and leatherman surge when I'm not at work. If I'm at work I usually carry the 0550 and surge.

Yes Sootch has greatly influenced me!
Firearm: sig c3, g19, czspo1, or g26
Belt: black alien gear
Pepper spray
Pocket clip mag holder
Watch: Nike sports watch or various fossils
iPhone
Knives: kershaw, kizer, bestech, twosun, or we knive. No offhand blade at the moment
Lighter
Lip balm
Keys with keychain flashlight
Minimalist wallet
Paracord bracelet
I like either the Benchmade 940 or Infidel, Glock 29, 43, or 19. And the Casio Protrek watch is awesome for outdoors with the built in compass.
You’re right about those pens. Those pilot pens are amazing.
The battery is what sold me on that olight bought one right after your review.
S&W 686+, benchmade 940, snap on pen light, leatherman wave with home made bit kit, swiss gear minimalist wallet and a relentless tactical gun belt (excellent belt highly recommended)
As a non-smoker, a lighter for tactical/survival putposes is something I've never thought about. I need to grab one. Thanks sootch!
Perfect U.I. for me. Clipped to the very right of the pocket seam.)
Right, Front pants pocket: Ontario Rat2 clipped to the top of the pocket.
My EDC:
• Glock G19 Gen 4 carried IWB in a Bravo Concealment Torsion holster

• Fenix LD-10 light
• Benchmade Griptilian knife
• Spyderco Tenacious knife
• Leatherman PST II multitool

• Faded Glory clip wallet
• iPhone 7

2 considerations: carriying a blade is illegal here, and guns are completely illegal too
So
-Right pocket front side

A kubotan with a lanyard
A uzi tac pen
-Left pocket front side:
Small notebook

Earphones
-back pocket right
Leather wallet
-back pocket left
Sparrows "creeper" lockpick set

Leatherman rebar
-watch:seiko kinetik 100m with a nato strao
I’ve used Blackhawk belts for the last 6 years and love them.
i am a small frames man so i can't really carry a lot. i typically have a pocket knife (cheap auto store brand) an old leatherman pst II tool i got in the 90's, G-shock watch, keys, wallet, and i switch between an XDs in .45 acp or S&W model 32.
Many things has to be considered as some other countries don't allow firearms and big folders.
you have very nice things. I dig that clear mag.
Mr.
Great video one suggestion for a future video would be showing where you put all this stuff in, which pocket and etc.
G43 in Desantis mini scabbard, Spyderco Para 3, Olight Mini, Leatherman Juice S2 on keys, space pen, wallet, & phone.
Great vid! Thanks!
I carry two sets of keys, a CRKT 3 inch folder(RIPPLE™ ALUMINUM
Designed by Ken Onion), Swiss Army knife, and a Super Leatherman multi tool.

Good thoughtful video. Agree with you on most selection except Olight. Bought 3 last year all failed in a month.
I like those folding key things. Been meaning to check them out
Used to EDC a Glock 21, that didn't last long.
Nice Kit, I usually throw a bandanna in my back pocket, or side cargo pocket. Keep up the Great Work
Been carrying for 10 years now. My edc glock 26 with spare glock 19 mag, wallet, phone, and keys that's it. I probably should add a small flashlight, but I like to stay lightweight.
Sootch have u seen those new havalon knifes great addition to your shtf bug out bag..
Thank you for another great video! I like your EDC setup. I don't know if I trust a magnetic coupler for my keys tho... Have you used the Amflo air hose type pull apart key rings? I have used them for years....never had one fail.
I love the Daltech bull belt, it’s a beast! I carry OWB with a Glock 29 and Galco leather holster and it’s almost un-noticeable.
What did you do when the alarm went off in Hawaii the other day? Some claim it was not a false alarm and something was sent and that something was shot down? A video on what to do when the alarm goes off would be good.
So you don't prep then?
Although I did hollow out my belt an put
a heave duty reinforced zip strip in it. It is 1/4 in wide an 36 in long plus the usual pick set/ spear
key to the truck an stuff. Like you'r videos thank's.
Big fan of the leatherman juice. Very compact and has scissors 👍
the juice is fantastic! i made the mistake of buying the c2 so i got the corkscrew instead of scissors....so now i want to buy the s2
I carry petty much the same stuff including the Olight as you plus a couple other small items but I have to wear suspenders to keep my pants up.
After a lot of testing in my own ccw and seeing a ton of ballistic information I use the Underwood extreme defenders over the HST
A G-SHOCK watch would be a nice addition to your EDC.
Love the edc! Your channel since I started following roughly 2 years ago has gotten me way into my edc! Thanks for the great vids and reviews
I had been really wanting to get a Daltech Force bull leather belt after watching your videos. Then one day, I found a near brand new one at a thrift store for $7!
That's a sweet deal! Good find Brother~
Hey sootch. Would it be possible to do a review on any of the hazard 4 bags? I'm looking at the grey version of the plan-b specifically.
Aside from the usual wallet, keys, phone:
- Olight S1 (Sootch's fault)
- Leatherman Squirt PS4 multitool
- Fingernail clippers (come on... basic EDC there fellas)
- Spyderco Tenacious knife
- S&W Shield 9mm
- Ridiculously small / basic first aid kit
Please post links to the items mentioned above. Thanks.
Nice, you ever checked out the Ridge wallets? Perfect for EDC. I carry a 26 gen 4 and benchmade barrage. Need a good flashlight and will acquire one soon. Thanks for sharing brother.
Thanks David! I've seen the Ridge Wallets. I need to check them out.
I carry one daily in my front pocket and cant even tell its there. Hoping for a Review on that new Ruger Carbine. I know you’ll grab one.Take care man
Phone & wallet (card knife in wallet)
Marine Corps 3 1/2 inch knife
Generic 2 inch knife from Autozone
Bullet lighter
Chapstick
Keychain
Generic Watch from Target
Swiss Gear Belt (I’ve practiced how to use as a tourniquet)
Pen
If I’m driving somewhere: backpack with first aid kit and a trauma kit I put together (A folded flag and the Constitution in the back zipper for added patriotism)
Yes! The Pilot G2 has been my go to pen since the Corps! Which one of those items makes the waffles, Sootch? How ya gonna hit the fan w/no waffles? J/k man I love that little flashlight and I totally dig all leather holsters, too. Great setup and very interesting vid!
Can you do a update video on the harbor freight tool chest, really like these edc vids you do.
1911 10mm
Knife
Multi-tool
Wallet
Cell-phone
Chap-stick
Car keys
Flashlight or pen light
Lighter of some sort
Great EDC! Consider adding a tourniquet and maybe some quick clot
Would be nice to see Amazon links for your knifes
You should check out the Coast Hp3r light, it's one of my favorite lights. For a lighter you should try and get a-hold of a djeep, they are super tough. Otherwise great setup.
nice job sootch, I will always use a really good belt ( blue alpha) .I would send the cash on where you should always start. the base and work up
I’m only 16 so I can’t have my concealed carry permit yet, but my edc is: Benchmade mini barrage, leatherman squirt ps4, 5.11 atac plx flashlight, crkt Williams tactical pen, armitron watch, wallet, iPhone with magpul case, and 5.11 tactical belt. Btw great video as always.
Gel pens will not freeze. They are good in the winter temperatures. And with a watch you can navigate crudely but not with a dead cell phone. You need to do a navigation video. Or did you?
Dude you been rockin the same ole heavy edc carry for years!!!!!!! Cool brotha!!!!!!!!!
If it works, why not : ) Thanks Pg!
What do you use the knife for? Would cutting up an apple hurt or stain the blade, what about making Wood shavings
Have a great year!
good stuff, Don. i REALLY like that first watch. i like the other one, too, but that first one is awesome!
here's my current edc:
glock 19 gen 4 in a bravo concealment kydex holster
extra mags in a bravo concealment mag holster
g-shock master of g solar watch
zero tolerance 0350ts
leatherman wingman
thrunite t10t
daltech force bullbelt or the 5.11 operator belt
I have bought O light flashlights also, I really like using them.
Magpul cases are excellent, definitely second that! Wish they made them for more assorted phones
Have you thought about getting one of those pens that have the window breaker
