Flakes once again: "I can boom it but I can't because I'm trash, so I'm gonna wait for the bounce... and another bounce... Just wait for him to challenge..."
Looks like you came across some gold in the salt mine johnny. This was easily one of the best games I've ever seen on this channel, and that's saying something. You're a godsend for the RL 1v1 scene johnny, you really are.
I heard from the inside that this entire world finals has been scripted. And every player got paid pretty decent for the saltiest entertainment to go down in history.
This felt more like a straight up best of 7 series.. didnt looked like any servers change.. they both played a very entertaining match!! Thanks and thank you johnnyboiiii!!
Firstkiller could have won this in a sweep by doing 1 thing. If he tried challenging as early as possible, Flakes wouldn't be able to start the dribbles. Flakes is also very one-dimensional as he never goes in the air for offense, so cutting him off early on the ground would force a change.
@@AlpaccaRL It's pretty clear that you're not very high rank in ones if you believe that. If you watch the games again and look closely you would figure that firstkiller did try some (not a lot, but some) early challenges, a few succeeded but most of them ended up by seeing Flakes flicking the ball instantly and get it past him, often scoring. Early challenges are a clutch and risky move that you need to use when the opponent isn't expecting you to do so, otherwise you'll get destroyed. It works at lower ranks because usually your opponents touches are bad, and the ball is often coming towards you, which makes it hard for the player in control to outplay an early challenge because he makes it hard for himself to quickly do something efficient with the ball. If you look at these lads playing, most of the time their dribbling is controlled and diving early when they expect you to do so means you'll see the ball get passed you for sure. A controlled dribble gives you plenty of options for an outplay, and "challenging as soon as possible before he starts the dribble" doesn't make sense because as soon as your opponent have possession of the ball after you gave it to him/went for boost/lost a kick off/got challenged/saw your shot get saved he's already "dribbling", since he can do whatever he wants with the ball. It is the definition of ball possession, he is closer to the ball than you are which means that if you both go for it at the same time you'll get beaten... And the smart move in this case is thinking to make him give it back to you and denying his attack, not diving towards the ball and hoping for the best or a slow reaction time or a lucky 50/50 because a good player WILL fuck you up. Besides, even if you don't play 1v1s a lot, you should consider the following. If you believe that Flakes is top10 ladder while having weak aerial offense, or that Firstkiller didn't think about early challenges when he has played thousands of 1s games you surely should double-check your reasoning. You have very few chances of being right (which doesn't mean you're necessarly wrong, but at least it should push you to doubt a lil bit). Flakes decides not to go for aerials in 1s because he finds it risky and believes that there are more efficient ways of scoring. Firstkiller knows that he can early challenge but only does it when he thinks that will grant him ball possession and not dives when the opponent expects it, or if his challenge would get him in a bad position even when assuming that he gets his 50/50 and doesn't see the ball get flicked over him or get faked. I'm not saying you should fully agree with either of those two but just respect the fact that they probably know the game at least as well as you do (in fact, waaay better) and don't just assert that simple mechanics would have made someone win 100% without deeply thinking about it. Like cmon bruh they have brains aswell... and some of the best experience in the field. It doesn't mean you're automatically wrong and I'm not blaming you for challenging their decisions, but odds aren't in your favor, which is in contradiction with claiming such a thing with confidence. Unless you're considering that most people aren't always using their brain, which is not wrong, but in this very case these dudes (and it is not the case for every pro..) do think while playing.
This is why I love flakes playstyle, he doesnt do anything fancy, just keeping possessions of the ball to a perfection and keeping his opponent from knowing what hes up to
Great Series. Flakes really showed through with better 1v1 IQ, and did a great job of crossing First and putting him into positions that were very difficult to defend.
The play at 53:28 is why i love high level 1v1 ..... first in mid & got a 100 boost .. how do u deal with that ? Flake flicked the ball with little boost & faked a challenge forcing first to waste his boost going for that ball ... than he used the last 23 boost to go for the corner boost before first lands .. steal it .. steal the mid boost to keep the super sonic going .. goes for the other corner boost & steal it too .. take the ball mid & gain position & four 100 boost in a matter of 10 seconds leaving first starved in net with no boost spawning any time soon .. causing the winning goal ... really good game by both .. He's no longer in complexity? If that's the case, why?
@@oie4074 Complexity dropped the entire roster. I think they left rocket league but idk.
After Complexity went winless this last season, they were relegated to RLRS. They lost in the finals of the tournament, and they didn't make it back to RLCS. All the players were dropped from the roster. Complexity said they are looking for high quality players for their next team. Flakes on the other hand is LFT now, trying to find a team to pick him up.
Alex Castillo Should’ve just dropped greazy and looked for a third imo
@@omgpuppet Still would be on RLRS and I think Complexity had enough being a 2nd tier roster
Interesting to see this now I have a feeling flakes would get destroyed in the current meta against first
Omg, Flakes vs Leth? That's gonna be a whole lot of intelligence on the field.
And after all the hype saying firstkiller will defeat oKhalid in the finals...
Trickster exactly. I been watching everyone in the comments hype him up in these past few videos like no boys and girls. Watch and learn.
I mean that wasnt gonna happen even if he made it LUL
nobody even considered that lul. All we wanted to see was firstkiller getting totally clapped by okhalid. firstkiller is wayyy below his class but hes prime salt mine material.
Guys we should not think of matchups as this concept: A beats B and B beats C, so A is better than C. Instead, always look at it as rock paper scissors.
@@NexenTriz Not even Rock Paper Scissors, RPS is always the same, results in 1v1's will change from day to day.
big brain flakes
5Head
love to see it
The amount of times I wanted them to air dribble bump 😂
Leth: I have never seen firstkiller miss
Firstkiller: misses open net
Did Brian just say at the end “This is the EU salt mine” ?
Heres our castor "jonathon boy" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
