I don't think any of these players were playing this as if it was something important. They probably try hard ranked way more. Alpha surely wasn't tilted at all
It's just how we're wired. We're prone to focus on negative stuff over positive stuff. It's more important to remember the tiger in the jungle than it is to remember how delicious the berries we just picked are

This format is amazing, length wise I think it’s class doing 15 games. It remains entertaining the whole way through and as much as 1s content is amazing, sometimes it’s nice to switch it up like this

@@itsjeroen9578 oh dear someone isnt good at maths, its not 3x4 or there would be games of players that have already played. It would be Alpha/Vati vs Monkey/Zen, then Alpha/Zen vs Vati/Monkey, then Alpha/Monkey vs Vati/Zen. Then all players have played vs each other.
Love this style, it also helps eliminate the "video length" issue that's exists with TH-cam spoiling the outcome of a series. With this format the length of the video doesn't matter as much, you would still almost have to watch until the end to see the outcome. Johnny is my favorite RL context creator, always creative and amazing at what he does!
P.S. Wasn't a huge fan of the fast-forwarding part. I would've rather watched the game without the commentary at normal speed but that's just me

What does it matter? You're gonna see the results in the end either way. I don't get you people 😂
@@ChodyRay It matters because I don't want to just see the results. I want to feel the game and the uncertainty of whether a play is going to be a goal or not. Fastforwarding until a play that ends up in a goal removes that excitement and uncertainty. When it slows down, I already know a goal is coming. There had been quite a few plays in fast forward that could have been a goal too.
@@Acelnorst You're going to find out the results regardless. Does it matter when you find them out? It doesn't make sense 😐 I get not wanting it to be sped up, as I'm in the same boat, but getting "spoiled" by seeing the results "early" is just inconsequential

small gripe, I personally would rather have had game 13 a regular speed. I understand it was sped up because no commentary, but it removes all the tension out of that game. All in all though, excellent format and video.
Also, comforting to see a couple backflip mistakes from the pros, they kinda like me fr.
I thought it was absurd to fast forward through the gameplay. That's what we're here to watch more than anything, Johnny is just a nice bonus on top of it. It could be a bit bland to watch EVERY game without commentary, but also would have been perfectly fine to have one game without it.

Johnny, I fell asleep with this video in the background, and had an epic dream narrated by YOU. You were driving an ambulance and bumping me (in a truck with a trailer) THROUGH WALLS OF AN ARENA, telling me that I had chosen a bad position and now Monkey Moon had a free 1v1 against my teammate.
Words cannot describe how surreal it felt to wake up and realize the game I was playing in my dream was not, in fact, Rocket League.

I love how smart it was from exotik to leave the boost voor vatira at 56:06. As its better for vatira to take the 100 boost since he had 0, exotik has 33 boost from the respawn. It was either vatira 100& exotik 33 or exotik 100 and vatira 0. Such a smart play

Whats the equation for figuring out the number of games for "n" number of players? I feel so dumb right now and this is driving me crazy
I believe it to be
N! / 8*((n-4)!)
So for 4 players, 3
5: 15
6: 45
7: 105
And so on
@@tomhumphries6077 Wouldn't you arrive at the number of possible combinations by just adding the numbers from n-1 in a downwards direction? Like all the possible combinations of 5 players would be 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 10. AB, AC, AD, AE, BC, BD, BE, CD, CE, DE. Here, all 5 players/letters are "matched up" 4 times equally, right? But I suppose that doesn't take into account the 2v2 context. *And 4 players = 3 + 2 + 1 (AB, AC, AD, BC, BD, CD)
@@holysecret2 that was all taken into account, my formula is simplified down. It also needs to take into account for AB vs CD Is the same as CD vs AB, or DC vs AB or CD vs BA. That's where the 8 on the denominator comes from. The factorials boil down to n* n-1 * n-2 * n-3 as the choice from the player pool.

Zen is so skilled but comes off as a sore loser tbh
to me exotic might be the best 2v2 french player, he is really an all rounder, with a very easy game to read for his teammate. Great rotation, rarely over-extend, deadly shots , great vision, perfect challenges ... he is probably not an offensive powerhouse as he rarely make aerials play to beat everybody but give him a tiny space and you can be sure he'll score. To me alpha his the worst of this 5 guys, even in 3v3 he is the exact opposite of exotic i always feel like his teammate cant figure out what he is gonna do and how to play with him. He is a great player with monstrous mechs and i think he could be one off the best 1v1 player but every time I see him play he always feels off when it's in 2v2 it feels like its a 1+1 vs 2 if you see what i mean . I think the overall rhythm/momentum you can build through the game is really important and exotic always succeed to put more and more pressure has the game goes on and i feel like it's the opposite for alpha. ( full respect, no offense, they are all fantastic players)
Exotiik is good, but mm and zen gotta be the best French players in 2v2, if not the world. This video confirms my hypothesis

This is very different because I'm just so used to the 1v1 competition on your channel, but I'm not opposed to this as long as some 1v1s still come out here and there

Watched the full thing. This was a fascinating watch, it was fun to see the players ebb and flow through the 14+1 games. Alpha started off weak, but his play got a lot better by game 7 where him and exotiik just had godlike defense and teamwork. Monkey moon seemed to dip a little in the middle with some misplays and missed opportunities, but started and finished extremely strong. I thought Zen/MM would be a god-tier team, but I don't think they won any(?) Really fascinating, I think maybe Zen wasn't sure how to play off MM and MM was having trouble predicting Zen's decisions. Great play and endurance all around.

I absolutely love this format idea!
1. In this format, the camera should def be on 1 player each round. The cam switching frequently is quite distracting when trying to focus on the game and it detaches from each players' true pacing and style.
