Fast tracking is a schedule compression technique in which activities or phases normally performed in a sequence are done in parallel for at least a portion of their duration. In fast tracking you review the critical path and list all vital activities. Then you analyze which ones can be performed partially or fully parallel with other activities. Example (The current project schedule will not meet the timelines required for the project. You determine that you could fast-track the training material development. The training material development would begin as soon as the screen shots are produced versus waiting for the system to receive final sign-off.) Whereas Crashing is a technique used to shorten the schedule duration for the least incremental cost by adding resources. In crashing, you review the critical path activities and find ones that can be completed early with extra resources that can provide the highest compression with the least cost. Examples of crashing include the following: Over-time Allocating additional resources to specific activities Hiring additional resources Incentive payments for early completion
fast tracking mean performing activities in parallel while crashing include addition of more resources and performing activities with normal sequence .Both techniques are schedule compression techniques

Schedule compression techniques Fast tracking Crashing fast-tracking is a schedule compression technique in which activities or phases normally performed in a sequence, are done in parallel for at least a portion of their duration. crashing is a technique used to shorten the schedule duration for the least incremental cost by adding resources. In crashing, you review the critical path activities and find ones that can be completed early with extra resources, that can provide the highest compression with the least cost.
Both are the techniques to decrease the duration of project as Fast tracking is used to speed up the work by rearranging the activities and tasks without impacting cost of the project Whereas Crashing is speed up the process by allocating more resources to the same activity. By using additional resources, the cost of the project increases in this technique.
Basically crashing is Done by increasing the resources to project activities, which helps to make activities take less time than what they are planned.. although both project schedule compressing technique. In context of the video there are vide difference b/w Fast tracking & Crashing 1- Fast tracking is explain as a technique in which activities are performed parallel, while crashing are more resources are being added to activities. Fast tracking can be done without any introduction as well cost also. 2- Fast tracking increase the project risk and result in rework while crashing increase the project cost. Similarities b/w these both are: •• Both method compression technique •• Main purpose is to reduce the Duration of the project Crashing involves adding more resources to critical path activities to shorten the project duration with out changing the original project scope. As a result it's always increase cost. Fast tracking performance of activities in parallel it's can increase risk. And also decrease the duration. Drawbacks:- Cost of the project Quality risk increase
SCHEDULE COMPRESSION TECHNIQUES: 1. Fast Tracking 2. Crashing 1. In fast-tracking, the activities are carried on parallelly which decreases the project duration. there are project risks in fast-tracking which causes re-work. 2. In crashing the project duration is shorten by inserting more resources (money, human, machinery) into the activities of the project. For Example: in the construction of a bridge. Activity 01 costs $100 and duration of 4 days and 60 labors Activity 02 costs $100 and duration of 4 days and 60 labors Activity 03 costs $100 and duration of 4 days and 60 labors Total cost = $300 and total duration = 12 days and total labor = 180 labors For shorting duration from 4 days to 2 days, we need to add more resources like (money, Labor, machinery). We need to double the resources for the activity required to complete early. Activity 01 costs $200 and duration of 2 days and 120 labors Activity 02 costs $200 and duration of 2 days and 120 labors Activity 03 costs $200 and duration of 2 days and 120 labors Total cost = $600 and total duration = 6 days and total labors = 360 labors. By adding the resources money and labor, the duration of the project gets half
In summary, the differences between fast tracking and crashing are: Fast tracking includes the performance of activities in parallel, whereas crashing includes the adding of resources to a project. In fast tracking, there is increased risk, whereas in crashing there is increased cost.

very simple and basics concept crashing add resources and fast add no more resources ..... your way of teacher is execellenttt 👍
