This Cavs team went nowhere, but they were one of those memorable fun teams to watch and root for, regardless. The franchise was still digging out of the hole that Ted Stepien's disastrous ownership put them and not much was expected of this club. George Karl was a rookie head coach. They got off to that 2-19 start, but then Karl righted the ship, they finished strong, slipped into the Playoffs and gave a 63 win Celtic team all it could handle.
Free such an underrated star of the league. This was late in his career and he was still very good. Very powerfully built man with endless range. As the franchise player for the San Diego Clippers and later Cavs, he should be in the HOF no doubt.
Free and Karl saved this franchise. I remember those dark days. I remember this game and still have no idea how they lost. That part was clipped out I guess.
It's crazy how different this team was from the 1987-88 version of the Cavaliers, reminds me of the difference between the 1987 Warriors that played the Lakers in the Playoffs, and the 1989 Warriors with Run TMC
a memorable year for the cavs ........even at 36-46 ..........bird sat in game 3 in cleveland .............cavs win ............game 4 in boston was down to the wire .........world b. was a joy to watch .........he could get way up on his jumpers ..........always liked hinson .........traded to the nets ....???? dumb move by cleveland .........
Hey. This series in my opinion was one of the most exciting series ever! When Edgar Jones jumped over a Celtic player to dunk it, that was Amazinnnnn! Boston had no more trouble except the Lakers after this series.

I think they traded Hinson for the draft rights to Brad Daugherty, so it wasn't a dumb move. Brad had a better career than Hinson.

had to check ........hinson went to the sixers .....it allowed the cavs to draft brad daugherty ..........liked hinson though ......solid .......
So . . anyone else come across this after searching for "Ben Poquette"?
I'm sorry there aren't a lot of highlights of him here. Game 2 for sure
