I love this! Specially the dynamics at the beginning it's so crisp and so clean all throughout. I love the intensity. Even the choreography, i see the choir moving naturally and not looking awkward. Filipino choral pieces can be theatrical and most of the time foreigners look awkward when they do movements. But you guys look so natural i love it feels like everyone enjoyed performing this. ♥️ also kudos to the conductor! She looks strong and confident like she knows the piece by heart.
To those who appreciated this, I suggest they watch also the interpretation of the same song by the Manila Junior Symphony Orchestra, performed in 2018 wherein they won First Prize in the Summa Cum Laude Festival in Vienna, Austria. That was really something.
Hi Congrats for this great interpretation! Could you help me to find the music? Where can I buy it? Thank you so much for help. Best wishes from Switzerland Christian
Kruhay katahum kang Kinaray-a!!! ♥ this song is about Malays who exchanged Panay Islands with a golden seige hat and golden necklace. Amazing performance. Love from Antique Philippines.
That's one of our local dialects in PANAY ISLAND, Western Visayas, Philippines. Well done guys! Gin baylo sang mga Ate ang anda nga puloy-an....The Aetas (native inhabitants of the island) bartered their homeland....
One of the best foreign choir versions that I am now listening thru my Altec Lansing studio headphones. The conductor/musical director had captured the very spirit of the song even though the language may be foreign to them. I could say with complete confidence that this choir had captured my heart. I am originally from the Philippines but had migrated to the beautiful City of Sydney Australia where I still promote the best of the filipino music to my friends and fellow collegues at work. Excellent job, again congratulations !!!!
Here I am with my lazy ass being busy with nonsense thinking why only Leanna Crenshaw is named as artist. Here are the other girls (I may be wrong with 2-4 of them): L-R Samantha Belgum, Tamara Beliy, Mallory McCollum, Lindsay Reed, Shasta Bigham, (no idea), Emily Lee, Julia Park, Kaitie Krogh, Kate Naffie, Mikaela McFarland, Monica Shaw, Leanna Crenshaw, Moriah Faranal, Olga Korolev, Ryanne McLaren.
BRAVISSISSIMO!!! This choir sings "Kruhay" better than the Philippine Madrigal Singers. Their dynamics is well defined; and the profoundness of all vocal sections put together is so balanced and clear; and the floating sound of the sopranos, especially in the obligato is what is outstandingly missing in the Philippine Madrigal Singers.
This is by far the best interpretation of the Filipino folk song by a foreign choir. Outstanding!
couldn't agree more!

Karay a is not a dialect po. It's a language.
I am a native speaker of the kinaray-a dialect! You guys did so well! Kruhay!
Thats Song is Originated from my HOME TOWN in ANTIQUE ,PANAY ISLAND , PHILLIPINES
Wow!!! Amazing!!! The best interpretation of Kruhay from a non-Filipino choir group so far.
Even if the audio is not that loud, I can hear the dynamics!!!! Very well executed 💗👌
