..aw man this entire soundtrack brings me to tears. it's like if aquatic ambience from donkey kong country took over the whole game and drowns you in a blissful journey through heaven underwater
Every few years I find my way back here when I need to be grounded and let some tears go. This song makes me feel completely enveloped and protected in a “heaven underwater”
This sound track still shocks me at how amazing it is and how it sounds great beyond so many years :) i love this game despite its often frustrating difficulty...
@@zaytoony would love the see you publish them (if they aren't too personal). Love his music and would like to see him get the recognition he deserves.
The soundtracks to this entire series are beyond stunning. Defender of the Future has an OST unlike anything else in gaming, truly special and unique and this track encapulates all of that. Beautiful.
I loved this game, still do. I first played it as a demo on the Official Dreamcast Magazine demo disc. This game is one of the games that showed the power of Dreamcast hardware. It's fun to play.
It was that Dreamcast demo disc that made me go out and buy the full game which I still own today along with the PS2 Version. Would love to see this on PS4 or better still a sequel to it on PS4.
awww sooths the soul right ^_^ picture the water and all the life there and sun shineing down on the serface just wish that we all could visit a place like that insted of a stressful city
I remember when I came across this level on the dreamcast. I thought it was the way I was SUPPOSE to go at the time... only a few years later did I discover that it wasn't... You can get to it from Up and Down and fromthere you can also get to Pathways From Nowhere.
Man if ya'll like this, certainly you've listened to the original soundtrack from Ecco 1 and 2 by Spencer Nilsen? It was the OST to the Sega CD\version, not the Genesis one. But my goodness it's still my favorite video game music ever. So wonderful. And perfect for my favorite dolphin~
damn... the guitar mimicking dolphin calls...

Tim Follin really is truly a wonder. I had the pleasure of having him tell me about his experience working on this project.
@@zaytoony did you interview him? Would love to see that.
@@jezgomez I exchanged a couple of emails with him a very long time ago (2004 - 2005) This guy is really something when it comes to crafting music.

@@jezgomez i think that would be a good idea. It will give an insight into how he came about the creative process, his struggles etc..
Criminally underrated soundtrack
Even in videos about the composer like going through his timeline of work he's done they almost never touch on this game or play a sample or anything
@@akpokemon I don't understand that to me this is his crowning jewel, he has done some great music but this music is so special!
Believe it or not this music helped me through anxiety and insomnia.
Vangelis would've been delighted to have made this.

Tim Follin is such an amazing musician. This track is definitely influenced by 'Marooned' by Pink Floyd but still amazing all the same.
Потрясающий трек, в детстве его больше всего выделял. А сейчас слушаю уже более взрослым слухом и поражаюсь на сколько же гениальная работа
I never played this Ecco game but this song is beautiful! A mix of Pink Floyd and the Blade Runner soundtrack
I only started listening to this soundtrack a few days ago and I have fallen in love with this song. It's a soothing relaxing underwater song.
The best video game music track I listened in 40 years.
When you're listening to Follin, you're in damn good hands
Follin brothers never disappoints.
Passage from Genesis. You know, the Sega console? The one that featured the first Ecco the Dolphin? Is your mind blown or what?
Boom
Uh huh mhm oh yeah oh baby okay yeah mmm
Oh you mean Mega Drive!
Such a beautiful piece of music
Play this at my funeral and serve soul food and seafood
i'm legit blown away at how much this sounds like some of Vangelis' earlier work
Haha, I was saying the same in the comments section
Passage from Genesis....to Dreamcast.
That's Ecco the Dolphin's story.
So basically, Ecco zapped himself from the Tides of Time to Defender of the Future.
I can dig that.
That doesn’t really work for the rest of the world!
This song is what got my friend and I to play through this game together. Delightful experience so far :)
im crying...
This game was a lot difficult but I persist and win ,such memories in this music.
So beautiful and relaxing.
freaking beautiful
wow am crying!
Simone Bernacchia lol it's just under the sea music.
yeah but is a HECK of a under the sea music!
@@lakotalin485you wouldn't understand the emotion you could get from music... Some songs just completely flood me with emotion
Reminds me a lot of Pink Floyd, especially the track from the Division Bell album, called Marooned.
i ll never get what kind of soulless Monsters could possible dislike this beautiful dream of a OST ?

OMG yes! Especially the Undercaves on the sega cd version
I did, but Defender of the Future still remains the greatest soundtrack in the series
thats just unreal
I love Ecco since I played it on megadrive/genesis ♥
my ears are in heaven
Must......fight.....tears. >_
getting vangelis vibes somehow, boy id love that collab
The one dislike came from the Foe Queen. :P
This is beautiful. Sounds like latter Pink Floyd ('Marooned' for example)
There's a bit of Vangelis' Blade Runner here
I wanted to write the same thoughts and saw your post, the mood of Vangelis is determined
@@SpcFnk indeed 🙏🙏🙏😃
So beautiful... reminds me of swimming inthe Great , Endless Blue
Love you Ecco 🐬🐬🐬
It's good to be home
Parts of it sounds like something from Pink Floyd's Division Bell.
Thanks Shitman!
Soooooo beautiful!
This would make a sick DNB track.
This track slaps. Guitar going all in too.
This song is great guys!!
That Soundtrack For The Next Powermen Model And The Music
:,) thanks for posting this
I thought that you can unlock it by jumping into the side pool at the side in the PS2 version.

Honoured to provide the 600th like
I can hear lots of Pink Floyd here
Fits Ecco to a tee :)
mee too!!!
Why in the actual FUCK has no one covered this???
Goes hard on 0.25 speed
