$20 Mini Bike (Saved from the Crusher!), Will it Run + Ride?

  • Welcome to the crusher mini bike! Ike chased down someone on the way to the crusher, and bought this Baja Warrior mini bike for $20 just before it was sold for scrap. The chassis isn't in great shape, but it's functional and salvageable. The 196cc Honda clone engine is in poor shape- the previous owner removed the spark plug, and built a custom exhaust that points upwards, allowing rain to pool in the combustion chamber. This engine was REALLY stuck, but we freed it up, and got the old mini bike to run and ride!

The problem is unless you get free sponsored parts, the parts to fix that engine are worth more than the fixed engine. The 196cc engine being 4 maybe 5 HP compared to getting a new 6.5 hp engine for under $100 with the right coupon.
I'm all for restoring and saving things but sometimes more to it. No point in spending $100 to save something worth $50.

    • @1one3_Racing
      @1one3_Racing 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Its quite common. If you opt for cremation you generally won't get a new coffin and you won't be told. They don't cremate the expensive and elaborate coffins because of toxic smoke so you have an "exibition" coffin for the viewing/funeral and then they are transferred into a plain pine, eco, or no coffin at all for the actual cremation. Then they fancy coffin is reused. Over and over. And over. Until it becomes unfashionable or scuffed

The small engine power sports manufacturer I spoke to said they've had a 400% increase in sales since Covid19 hit. I think TH-camrs, namely John and Ike can take credit for a chunk of that increase in sales. Covid 19 caused more TH-cam watching worldwide, and a ton of people watching people like John and Ike. I believe the small engine power sports industry needs to show more gratitude in the form of fiscal transfers. 400% increase folks! Their bathing in sales. Time to start reviewing new parts and equipment from a stable of manufacturers and supply chains John, Ike!

Another trick for lapping the valves would be to use a piece of rubber hose between the drill gun and the valve stem. While spinning the valve, apply pressure with your finger to press the valve into the seat. This gives you more control and you don't have to worry about keeping the drill gun on axis as much.

You guys gotta paint it like the RK crusher camaro. Yellow, and the engine has to be the iconic red and gold

I'm a tool repair tech at a Home Depot rental facility and aside from maintaining our fleet engines, I also repair the customer's equipment as well. I can honestly say that was the nastiest carburetor I have ever seen and I have seen some janky ones! Every now and then when. I get a really bad one I'll take a picture. You guys might want to get a sonic cleaner BTW! Enjoyed the video!

    HELLO ! HELLO ! HELLO !
Isaac have you ever heard putting diesel motor oil in a motor like what you have with this mini bike . It has a lot of at additives that that motor needs . To make it quite smoking . and make sure the oil seal on the vale steam is all the down and sitting on the head . And I would put diesel motor oil in the cylinder and turn a few times . And let it set over night . Run the diesel oil tile the next oil change . Hope this helps your motor .
I have done a lot motors this why . And I like the way it brings the motor back to life !

I can't believe you guys got that bike going again. I honestly would have tossed that original engine if I saw that mess in the cylinder. Great video guys!

I have a factory Baja 196 motor, when I bought the bike we got it running without having any oil in the block. I took it home and filled the oil, it ran like a champ. Fair to say they are hardy motors

This bike was probably a flood victim.
Would be a good candidate for showing how all is not lost for those viewers that would rather Save than Replace.
    Show an engine rebuild.
An alternative could be to make it into a mini chopper since Y'all excel at fabrication of something different. Paint it a vibrant color, fabricate a custom polished exhaust, maybe utilize or replace the fake fuel tank with something functional. Heck, add a Sissy Bat and Custom Front Fork.
    The possibilities are endless.
    LOL

My Ford Focus was in a parking garage during Hurricane Harvey and every single car there was totaled through insurance, except for mine. Water had made its way into the engine and I had to clean every single thing but I didn’t even take the valve cover off. Fogging oil, some cranks, and fresh fluids all around.... that was 30k miles ago and that car still runs perfect 😍 202k miles on it now
