One of the greatest rock n roll voices of all time.
Who knows what we missed
Thee Voice.. His phrasing and pitch is simply incredible.
Agree 100%. What a great rock voice. Miss you John

For those who believe, like John, that early Rock N Roll is the best kind, this is right up our alley.
Oh yeah. They say that early rock has its roots in jazz and blues. You can definitely see the jazz and blues influence in this one.
I love how John dropped a classic rock n roll banger right in the middle of disco craze. What a legend
You're you're right on the ball bro I've got all about the disco craze
It was really cool, but, actually, he did it for contractual obligation
@@ClaudioLaureano936 That's true, but he sure did pour all his soul into it!
It was part of a lawsuit settlement when he was found guilty of ripping off a Chuck Berry song You Can't Catch Me for Come Together. He had to record a bunch of classics owned by the record company.
It was meant to come out in 1973 but Spector went away with the tapes. So that was before Disco.
He's getting back to his roots and paying homage to his earliest heroes.
John Lennon, a rocker always and forever.
John's voice on this whole album is an absolute joy.
He really nailed these songs
ABSOLUTELY AGREE!!! You can Feel His voice, His presence... Gave Me GOOSEBUMPS!!!
You can really tell how much he loved the songs on the album!
Yes I agree John Lennon a awesome singer and song writer,he did alot of great songs

Joh surrounded by brilliant musicians singing rock and roll - just fantastic.
John improved every song he performed.
He really understood rock n roll this guy . Nails it.
One of Lennon's best vocal performances ever.

Who really can vow that 63 years after you started your life's work, that large groups of people will still celebrate it?

At this moment,John Lennon & Little Richard are jammin' in Rock & Roll Heaven.
Scott - Ahhh Nice☮️thanks for putting it that way
Craig Cardone someone’s having a bad day huh
I'd say their not because as far as I'm aware they both rejected Jesus ( their choice entirely)
Heaven is for believers the redeemed of the Lord Which as you may or may not know Jesus had to pay an exceptionally high price for.
No I believe little Richard had faith, he recorded a lot of gospel albums.

Lennon at his BEST playin' his Rock'N'Roll..!! 🎸Oh yeah!! 🎶💓💕
What a fantastic voice John had!!!
Even Freddie Mercury admit that Lennon is a genius life is real.
This is why John’s ROCK AND ROLL album was so fantastic. You knew he was having the time of his life. He loved those rock and roll songs.
We’re grateful for that, because they got him excited about music. And because of that we had The Beatles.
It's my all-time favorite solo album of his!!!
These are the Big Bangs of all that came afterward!
In my top 10 fav LPS EVER
John and his backing band are having a blast and it shows.
Brilliant...we all miss you John...but you'll always be here with us.
Real musicians, real vocals, real talent, real good!... John's vocal is amazing on this track.
Lennon had obvious pleasure playing these rock classics.
Mr. Lennon doing what he was born to do, Rock'n'roll!!!!!
Nice to see John sounding so vibrant & looking like he’s having fun. What a talent!

His voice has that special rasp. A one off. Happy Birthday John.
As a lifelong Beatles fan and especially a John Lennon fan, this is the first time I've seen this film. John is absolutely great with this old rock classic. Like when President Kennedy was assassinated I'll always remember where I was when John Lennon was murdered, it ranks as one of the saddest days of my life. However The Beatles music will last forever and so will John Lennon.
Same for me too. I woke up to the early morning radio news and ran into my parents' room in shock and heart-break...
Frank , this is Bob Flagg, your cousin from way back, anyways good statement!
“One of the saddest days in your life” when a wife beating, drug taking, greedy, egomaniacal, passed-his-best pop singer gets murdered?
Really ?
Admittedly he was good in his day but his death affected me to the exact measure that my death would have affected him.
@@Hutch41 people like you are sad, thankfully we’ll always have Lennon’s spirit and magic through his music and message ✌🏽

He was a washed up, incredibly lucky creep who overestimated his intelligence and talent.
Without McCartney he’d have gotten nowhere.
A self piteous whining envious greedy knacker of a man and the world is a better place without him.
PS Forgot to mention … he was a violent yobbo too who kicked Stuart Sutcliffe (the so called Fifth Beatle) so hard in the head in 1961 that he developed a fatal brain tumour.
Yup … a wonderful man alright.

Stoker Films We do! Problem is, the Universe grants only one magical group per billion years... The Beatles & the 4 individuals who comprised it, were it. Ain’t nobody ever gonna fill John’s shoes. Sadly.
That grit in Lennon’s voice was always the best, like when he sang Twist and Shout! Paul McCartney had a smoother soft voice, but that lennon growl he could never match
Mikail Stacy Paul’s voice could get quite raunchy too though. Like on Helter Skelter, Oh Darling, Long Tall Sally, etc.
Oh Woman Oh Why freakin rocks.
fjf sjdnx “My guy”? Lol. Are you a No Life Shaq viewer?
fjf sjdnx I’m the same as you, a hardcore Beatles fan, and I personally hear a smoother voice on average with Paul, and I hear gravel when John strains...I’m not saying Paul could never use his voice to make an aggravated modulation...jeez John released scream therapy after the Beatles broke, Paul never compared to the angst John could reach...yes yes..Paul could yell like I could yell, but NOT LIKe JOHN the end .
Mikail Stacy Yep. Crank Mother when it hits you and dang.
Unmistakable voice! There could only be one.❤
John was out of this world !!!
Such a voice, grear arrangee and composer !!! One of the 10 best rockers of all time !!! Thank you for being yourself always , being genuine and Telling it Like Is , to the establishment !!! RIP
You can really tell he's having a great time performing the kind of "swingin'' good old fashion rock and roll that he loves. Fantastic skilled musicians all. This performance should have been released for radio play. I think it would have done well. You are unable to think about any problems you, or the world, may have while listening to this.
Thank you, John!
"Great arranger"??
Arrangement were done by Phill Spector who produced the “Rock and Roll” album.

Lennon's voice is in optimal form just before his hiatus, despite the turmoil of the Lost Weekend times. It sounds every bit at home during the Rock And Roll sessions, with this performance of Slippin' and Slidin' showing that he still had "it" and more. I've loved this song since being a kid, it gets better with every play~! Miss u, JL~!
A lot of his solo stuff was really mellow. Seeing this reminds me of the Beatles days when he really exercised that vocal talent he was born with.
Love this Rock'N'Roll album John recorded in 1975 and his interpretation of every track on it.

Not generally crazy about Lennon's forays into old school "rock n'roll", but his voice is utterly spectacular here. As good as it ever was.
He really loved his rock and roll.
John was nothing but forays into old time rock and roll.
Sacré John dès qu’il interprète un morceau c’est vraiment intense et incarné !🥰🥰🥰
As I get older; I still pull out 70's and 80's hits and cover them. For John; he grew up in the 50's and Little Richard was the bomb in his book. What a cover....THE rock and roll voice that will never be duplicated in our lifetime.

Lennon was at heart a rocker. Had he not met up with McCartney he might well have become a pub and club turn knocking out these classics of r 'n r... and if he had he would no doubt still be alive today.
I think if he hadn't met Paul he would have made a totally different group in the 60's carrying in the 70's and probably through the 80's also
