6×12s weigh around 1200 pounds before the build out. It would only be an estimate on my part, but judging from the build out, I would estimate 2500-3000 pounds.
@@billanddeb- I’m actually just about to buy a 6x12 all aluminum trailer with a V-nose in order to convert it, and the weight is right around 950 lbs. For my build, after all is said and done, I’ll come in around 2000 lbs (or so that’s the plan! We’ll see how it goes).
I recently found this channel and really enjoyed your videos. Thanks for the content 🙏 I have learned several things from your videos already!! This build-out was great, especially if you plan on carrying a motorcycle or dirt bike. The one question I have is on the window AC how does he drain or account for the condensation on the back of AC unit? I know he covered the ventilation but missed that. When I was growing up, all we had was a window unit or box fans and I can remember having a lot of condensation on the back of them. That is one reason they are installed in windows and slightly angled downward so it will run off outside. If there isn't any compensation to make up for that wouldn't it just dry rot and cause mold issues on the wood shelf it's on? I'm generally curious if he figured out a fix for that.
Iove this idea, build it how you want it way more rugged than a typical travel trailer, more cost effective, upgradeable just all together the way to do an RV . You can build freeze proof easily serviceable, pull toys lift it up ,build to marine grade specs they sky is the limit. Don't buy a regular RV if you have the time and skills to DIY.
We've done other walk thrus with similar setups. They usually fabricate a box at the rear that separates the intake from the exhaust and then incorporate a small pan to catch the condensation with a tube attached for drainage.
He didn't build the trailer. He bought from someone else who actually built the trailer and used it. We've done walk thru videos where others have used window units in this fashion, and made them work by fabricating a box of sorts behind the air conditioner that separates the intake from the exhaust. How do we know this one was done in the same fashion???
We can and do with ours on occasion. We didn't get into how big his battery bank is, so we really don't know what it's capable of when starting with a full charge. That little air conditioner is just that,,,,,little, for a little trailer.
@JRogersPhoto1 our battery bank is a little over 6kw. We have a 12,000 btu mini split and and 10 cubic foot residential fridge. We can easily run both through our 3000 watt pure sinewave inverter all day and all night. 😃
Lovely camper. Simple build. And that open rear with the views and airflow, and the lifted seating area, cozy and very livable. Would love that.
We're glad you like it!
So cozy! Beautiful build.
Glad you like it!
Interesting that the builder was able to find an angled show pan. Nice build, hope John and his wife are able to enjoy many more adventures!
Although we didn't really talk about, it appeared the shower pan was fabricated.
@billanddeb
How much does his trailer weigh dry, or loaded?

Nice setup!!!
Yes it is
Big step up from tent camping. Enjoy!
I wanted to hear more about that AC setup.

Nice job
I think that I would put those baskets under the sofa Instead of on top. Other than that, it's an amazing build!
Better air flow up top for mold growth, easier to clean the floor, and don’t have to bend over with a bad back.
Nice.😊
Cool
What is the door latch you have?
👍
🤠🤠👍👍👍👍

Build it for your needs
Wonder how John vented the air conditioner drainage? Any ideas, Bill??

How does he heat the camper.?
I'm sure he has a plan for that, when it becomes needed
Both owners did a great job on the build.😊
