Did this journey in 2000 on 1150gs with paper maps and a mars bar sized gps which I added waypoints by lat and longitude
Went up gorge Dade and didn’t have enough time to go back down so went across the top and came out at the top of Gorge todre
No roads there just rock strewn passages
Got to Todre like ‘Pale Rider’ and fell into the artesian well to cut the dust. Felt bizzare to see all the tourists there.
Backside was like a baboon until I put a goat skin on my saddle in Marrakesh which I still use.
You brought back so many memories for me because I only had 35mm film so limited pictures Which I still cherish.
Time to do it again but I will definitely not stress out that the extra technology brings.
    Well done

Hi Graham, I really enjoyed reading your story - a true adventure and I can imagine suddenly being surrounded by tourists was very weird indeed… I’ve definitely become too dependent on technology -
25 years ago I was touring all over Europe with nothing but a paper map and scribbled out directions blue-tacked to the inside of the screen on the Roadking I had at the time… Happy days! So glad to hear you are going to venture back to Morocco… brilliant! Safe travels 😁

Another very long day for you Steve. I really like that you pointed out at the end some all the things that most people wouldn’t think about in such as repetitive strain injuries and just annoying things about your clothing or the bike or fiddly things that can be very irritating. One of the most important parts of the bike is the seat and it’s often overlooked and many other videos I’ve watched. Five stars again, brilliant! Ken👏🏍️

Hey Steve 👋 I'm glad to see that you're SAFE and on your journey back home! WOW! A 16 hour riding day is brutal but your grit & perseverance has allowed you to cover about 500 miles each day since day 1. Although your left elbow hurts & some aches & pains exist...you've managed to be quite skilful in avoiding any accidents on the roadway especially with local traffic being quite dangerous & bizarre! Thanks for allowing us to be a part of your AMAZING JOURNEY Steve!👍

Mate, your video as always, is honest and real. I think when I do it I’ll definitely add a few days on as I prefer to keep it to 6-7 hours max riding but you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. Really enjoyed watching your trip .
I'm going to say something that probably going to make some people not agree. But
If you really want to go further do not put fuel save in you bike .
I challenge you run your bike as low as safe of fuel . Put hi octane in . Full tank .. do the miles. Then try it on the cheap rubbish..
    Honestly you will be surprised.
And it's better for your bike.

Hi Steve. Dare I ask, what is your job? Just curiosity. Perhaps mostly because this journey of yours has appeared rather tiring. Also, for us viewers, you have become a dear travel companion. Hi there, thank you so much for watching! My ‘day job’ is as a guitarist/performing musician/songwriter and music educator. I also write and record all the music for my TH-cam channel… The journeys can be quite tiring, due to having to juggle short windows of opportunity for motorcycle adventures between my work and family life. Luckily I have an incredibly supportive partner and my kids are now grown! The aches and pains are getting better thanks and I’m already planning the next big trip which will be published after three or four closer to home videos after my return. • @TwoWheeledDreamer
      @TwoWheeledDreamer  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Hey Jim, here’s a few of my thoughts: I would probably have got a local SIM card with data on it rather than trusting the All The World roaming pass I purchased from my provider, that way google maps would have worked properly and it would have taken away a lot of stress. I should probably have downloaded the maps to the Nav 6 too as it only has European maps. I would recommend purchasing a satellite tracking device (such as the Garmin inReach Mini 2). Not having my phone work in Morocco (not to mention most of France and Spain) caused a lot of anxiety for my partner back home. With one of those devices we could have stayed in touch (plus I might have found the desert camp easier/been able to launch a rescue party if I had properly come a cropper!). I didn’t take one as it was behind my budget but thanks to BuyMeACoffee I have now got one ready for my next adventure… Take plenty of cash as it really is king in Morocco (although the cities are more welcoming with cards). Ideally I would have ridden half the distances in twice the amount of days but time was not on my side so I just had to compromise a bit on stopping to sightsee and do the sightseeing from the saddle. The customs officials on entry to Morocco will want to see your original V5 - not a copy. Don’t be afraid to ask for help (finding accommodation etc.) - everywhere was so helpful and not out to scam. I think in places like Marrakesh there are more expectations on being paid for help if they offer it without you asking. If you do find yourself in that situation, establish the fee before hand. Also, at no point did I feel unsafe, even in Marrakesh at night I felt safe. Petrol stations are relatively commonplace so fuel anxiety shouldn’t be an issue (although I still worried at times even with the massive GSA tank) - a middle of nowhere fuel station will probably only take cash though. And the food is brilliant value and in my opinion, quite brilliant! I hope some of that helps! If I think of anything else I’ll post again… cheers Steve 🙂

Hi - what was the rationale around going in Winter (I assume Jan but not sure) whilst the temps in Morocco are lower the trips through Western europe looks flipping cold and wet - alot of people do this but why not wait until say April when the temps are milder for the long trips to Morocco? Must be a reason for it but it looks pretty harsh to me ...also was wondring why airbnb which are invariably hard to find whereas mainstream hotels tend to be just off the motorway and are well signposted so less mucking around trying to fin them? Anyway great vid as usual..👍 1st 😂

Hi there, going when I did was was a combination of factors really… it was when I had a window of opportunity and also knowing my aim was the Sahara meant the summer would have made that part of the trip too hot for me. I used Airbnb’s because the trip would have been too expensive for me in hotels- I’m definitely touring on a budget!
