I unironically love Camrys. Both my parents drove Camrys while growing up, my first car was a hand-me-down Camry that racked up 280 thousand miles over its life. The first car I got myself was a Mustang, and after endless repairs and plowing through fuel (and honestly I realized that I'm a car person in theory but don't actually want something designed for performance as a daily driver) I went back to a Camry. It's got great fuel efficiency, it's comfortable, it's familiar, and it's reliable as fuck. I may have other cars in the future, but my primary will always be a Camry.

You guys go over so many cars and one thing I would like to suggest is 30 seconds to talk about the "driver comfort" or "driver fatigue reducers". I ended up having a rental Toyota with Lane Track Assist while on a trip and it was such an improvement from other brands that just "help you not move invade" other lanes. I remember feeling much less tired when compared to the same distance traveled with our vehicle. If we want the auto makers to start making our lives better, this is the type of feature that we could highlight when comparing to other vehicles on the same segment. Thanks for all the amazing videos.

They did... you won't hate anything about the ride, but you won't necessarily love anything either. You will get out of the car after a long ride - just feeling "normal". They also kept referencing it as an "Uber" car. I mean if your living is driving all day, and you want your passengers comfortable... that's a taxi/Uber if I ever heard one.

That’s why I like that the paddles control regen braking in my Ioniq Hybrid, but in sport mode it does actually control the transmission. Though it makes slightly more sense in my car since Hyundai gives their hybrids a 6 speed DCT rather than a CVT.

This is the same in Honda's hybrid lineup and it makes perfect sense. Why Toyota hasn't implemented that same feature seems odd. It doesn't bring the car to a complete stop but it's a fun game to play to try and time a stop light and get as close to stopped as you can before you have to apply any brakes.

The mid-size sedan market has been shrinking steadily for 2 decades now. It's basically this and the Accord. The rest fight over scraps. The Camry has been the King in this class for a long time (in terms of volume of sales) and these changes should ensure it remains that way. It's not a sports car, it's not a muscle car, so as long as you don't go in expecting an M3 on a budget, you'll be fine. If you want a regular family sedan that will be the most reliable vehicle on the planet and actually be worth something when you sell it in 10 years, you can't lose. The Camry is likely THE pick in the class.

@@Mr-furley 0-60 times on any non-sports car is a fool's game spec. Next time you are at the lights in your city, floor it when the light turns green. You'll look like a fool and have to let off the throttle to avoid excessive speed after a few seconds or you'll end up smashing into the vehicle in front of you. Your regular driving around town likely equates to a 0-60 time (although, do likely won't go that fast in town) of about 15-20 seconds. Marketing people convinced people that 0-60 times are an important metric when buying your next vehicle. They are meaningless on anything other than a sports car. If you care about 0-60 times, get a 911 Turbo S.

I think the biggest bit left out is that the base Camry comes with the hybrid standard, gets 53 Cty/50 Hwy (51 comb.) MPG, makes 225 HP, and costs $28,400. Consider that even the regular Prius only gets 57/56/57 MPG, and with 194 HP. That's a pretty good deal if you wish a more "normal" vehicle than a Prius.

I had the V6 for a decade and I’ve had a hybrid for 4 years. Besides missing the occasional full throttle activation on the V6 (which only really felt quick from a rolling start due to limited low down torque) I’ve really not missed the V6 at all.
Interestingly the hybrid acceleration from 60mph shows plenty of go at full throttle which I found recently when I took it into the outback and had to pass the double trailer trucks we get out here.

But the new gen camrys are some of my favorite cars we have. They have a very decent power to weight ratio and drive really really well in comparison to other vehicles the company i work for buys and its priced very accurately. @blakeogeris2494 BMW don't do it (excepts for their recent EVs and Hybrids etc, but I hate New BMWs). Ever since Hyundai created the latest Genesis, everyone is doing it. Ferrari, Subaru, Toyota, Nissan, Renault, Jeep, Hyundai, Ford etc etc.

@mattyb1624 yea that's right! I couldn't put my finger on it.. yea it's not really good look.. a lot of car manufacturers are having the headlights pretty much at the bumper grill area and having the daytime running lights where the headlights should be

The V6 is way overrated IMO. Inefficient, not very refined, have to rev it out to get good power, and no more reliable than Toyota 4-cylinder hybrids. This is such a better powertrain for 99% of Camry buyer.

Agree. None of those so called high performance v,6 Camry very really sporty or even fast . Fact is it never really put that power to road.

@@jaimeb6873 all good if you like it - I know it has its fans. My comment is based on years of driving that V6 in my wife's Lexus. It hasn't given us problems, it's just an old engine that doesn't offer much vs competition IMO.

I bought myself an 04 Camry a few months ago for $4k with 79k miles (at the time). No other issues other than very mild rust. I guarantee this car will last me until the end of time. 250-300k miles easy. 500k if I don’t push it too hard. It’s going to be my reliable daily while I work on my project car(s)

I bought a 07 RAV4 V6 just to use it for a ski vehicle. Now it's my full-time daily. Sold the BMW with no regrets. It's so nice to never have to fix anything on a car and that's what these Toyota's bring.

Thanks for not botching the external design Toyota--and for maintaining that handsome and sporty look Camry has had since the previous gen--especially when comparing to something like the competing accord which got badly clobbered with the ugly stick. I just wish the newer Camry had more performance. The names Camry and Cressida are synonymous with V6 in places like the middle east. It's their defining feature. And something that looks this sporty should also excite with its performance. Last year's Camry TRD with the V6 is looking like the much more desirable and smarter option.
