My friend says avoid Edinburgh in August but that looks amazing, I know my family would love it. Love the sound of all those pipes and also the projections on the Castle.

Hiya, Shaun. When we were there in May, the benches where being erected for this. I have always so wanted to see the Military Tattoo for my birthday. Well, thanks to you, Shaun, now I have. My birthday is Saturday and I will be watching this over and over having a better view than I'd have if I were actually there. Thank you, Shaun, for again giving us the best of Scotland! I plan on returning as soon as possible. What an awesome country with such lovely locals.
On the main channel here in Norway, Nrk, they always broadcast the Edinburgh Tattoo some time during the autumn, and then reruns around new year and Easter. I love to watch it and hope I get to see it live someday.
Great Video Shaun! As a child we attended the gathering in Salado TX and always went to the Tattoo. Be we.NEVER had the CASTLE in the background!! Awesome to see!

I like “Sky’s the Limit”, I was shocked when the bagpipes comes out.. And you should put Auld Lang Syne into your video, because along with God Save the Queen, ALS is the song that each year’s Royal Edinburgh Tattoo must have.
How cool I didn’t know they had military bands from around the world I thought it was just lots of Scottish military/bagpipes groups competeing against each other. Yeah the Mexico was probably one of the coolest

Shauuuun! I choked up watching this! I am 1/2 Mexican, 1/4 Scot Irish and 1/4 German and 100% American! On my Mexican side we are indigenous Original Californians Indian Juaneno Tribe so this hit me from all angles. Lost an uncle in Viet Nam and had another uncle serve for the Air Force both of whom I ams so very proud of! This festival has always been a dream of mine and I will attend it in the future!!!!
I wish I could have come this month but looks like late Sept early Oct. Depends what I can find in Edinburgh. Give me some ideas of places to stay. I'm in a wheelchair w/ service dog. The paperwork for him to come is as nightmare.
