I heard Dr. Feelgood instantly thought about motley Crue. So now Aretha is gonna haunt me. I’m from Detroit… Also, the prince Mötley Crüe connection is hilarious
I love this performance!! Does anyone know the date and location? I’m pretty sure this is 1992, but wonder if the entire concert is located out there somewhere… Awesome vocals from Rosie❤!
Yeah looking at the Prince Vault website, it's 1 of 2 possibilities. More likely April 18, 1992 in Melbourne, but there's also January 19, 1991 in Brazil
I believe the Brazil concert was Rock in Rio. Correct? I don’t think he wore that yellow outfit until 92. (I used to remember these things but they’re starting to slip my memory these days)😅
Rosie his best vocalist overall of his many amazing backup singers and duet partners. Her voice honestly as technically strong, or at least nearly, as the greats like Patti, Chaka and Stephanie. Not quite Aretha, Mariah or Whitney but in that next tier of greatness. She was special but sadly has both physical and mental challenges. Much love to Rosie. The NPG back then apparently treated her like a second class citizen behind the scenes and P wasn’t the honorable and humble mentor he’d later become. Honestly people make a lot of fun at his conversion to a Jehovah Witness after his baby died, both parents passed and marriage ended. It did wonders for his personality and he was very different live after that from when I saw him in the late 80s and 90s. He was more talkative and sweet. Don’t know how else to explain it. He was a little preachy and judgy for awhile at first but when anyone finds a religion, goes sober or vegan, it’s all you hear about for at least a year and it’s almost like they’re selling you on their new discovery. Then it cools down. Like it did for him and he became the world’s sexiest and naughtiest JW. Only he stopped cussing. Crazy considering he was a poet of profanity. Anyway Jehovah did him good overall. He was an elder statesman with class in his later years. I think Rosie would’ve liked that version of Prince better. I know her daughter contacted him when she went missing for a bit and helped them out financially. It apparently shocked him that she was in that state and he cared for her a lot. Like he did many of those he seemed to dismiss from his circle after a certain point. Complex dude. 💜💜💜♊️♊️♊️
I thought it was the guys in NPG that were teasing her and she had to be moved off their bus. I'm sure Prince sent her through the wringer in other ways, her daughter said that he would often call her in the middle of the night to come over and listen to new songs. He had too much energy for a normal person to deal with. I think that transformation in the 2000's was necessary and made him a better man.
She was suffering from diabetes the last thing I heard. Used to be my friend until she turned her back on me. Still I consider her to be a lovely person, and a very good artist. I used to love our conversations
Thanks to JJLovesPrince for the priority request. Who is your favorite singer Prince performed with?
Rosie is hands down my favorite duet partner with Prince. They sounded so good together.
Rosie is a force. I’m so happy you enjoyed this performance 💜💜💜
I very much did. It was awesome
Rosie has some pipes! Sing it girl!!!!💜💜
100%

I was wondering if it would be a Motley Crue cover as well
They have to cut the live tracks off tight because he doesn’t pause between songs, he launches right into the next song.
That has to be awesome to see live, but for reactions, it's just abrupt
“Joy in Repitition” live at Montreux Jazz
I'll add it to the list

The guitar & clothes are all yellow. 👍

Oh that is unfortunate. I suppose remember her as she once was
Rosie's stardom sadly never happened. Wasn't meant to be. She has a good rock voice.
That is unfortunate
I was hoping it was a Motley Crue cover
Honestly I was thinking the same
