- Santorini is one of those places that always pops up on my Instagram feed. It looks so picturesque online so I've always wondered if it's as beautiful in person as it is on social media. In this video you'll get to realistically see how Santorini is so you can determine if this highly popular summer vacation spot is worth coming out to.
Some tips:
-bring comfortable shoes
-bring a plastic bag for small trash items (there are barely any rubbish bins)
-do not drink the tap water. a big water bottle only costs €1. Stay hydrated.
-it is possible to get around by bus but if you're planning on renting a place outside of Perissa, Fira, or Oia consider renting a quad or scooter. Walking to bus stations suck.The sun is brutal and there is hardly any shade.
-Fira is the central hub for buses so if you plan on only taking buses around consider staying at a place around Fira. Water taxis are available but they don't run when the tide is choppy.

Gorgeous. It's got me excited about my own trip to Greece in 6 weeks. It looks crazy busy where you were though, I'm hoping where I'm going will be a little bit quieter. I'm going to fuss ALL the cats!

I have not been to Santorini (would have loved to but my disability now prevents it 😰😰) but I have been to Mykonos, Paros and Anti Paros, all part of the Cyclades chain of islands…. I left my ❤️in Greece - I need to return to claim it back 😄 do you know “why” there are so many blue domed churches on the islands?
Fira is definitely not handicap accessible but you could totally go to Parissa and even most of Oia and have a nice time! The beach is lovely!

I think I’ll just keep my memories of Greece that I have from 1977. People rode donkey’s through necessity not horrible animal tourism and NO influencer photographer log jams. But your food certainly looked a lot better.

A California roll is white rice and in the center is cucumber, crab or imitation crab, and avocado.
OMG it seems if you’re over 45 there’s no where to go. Everyone is young. 😢. Those hanging chairs are called egg chairs.
There were definitely people there over 45 on the island!

Sunset over the ocean is pretty much a sunset over the ocean. 🤷♀️
People go to see the sunset hit the buildings. It’s what everyone always talks about online of top things to do. I’m kinda the same way. A sunset is a sunset 😅

It really wasn’t as busy as I was expecting. Definitely busy for summer but not suffocatingly busy
