My father lived at the bottom of the Tor. My bedroom faced it. He was forever throwing people off his property with metal detectors. I never slept when I went to visit, as that was the view from my bedroom window at night.
When the moon Sar behind it, late at night, you could feel the atmosphere. A medium finally bought the house from him, saying she HAD to be there.

Not to go up the Tor. The Chalice Well costs £4 (about $7) to visit. Well worth it.

@@jamieleeredwood8011 If you spend the night on the Tor it is possible that Lord Annwyn may take you into the inner faerie kingdom that lies within. Should you be permitted to leave you may find that despite having been within for only a few days, many years will have passed in the outside world.
Of course, you may simply find yourself shivering in the chill night air that blows around St. Michael's Tower. That is until you are abducted by a UFO. Apparently the bodily probes that you will then be subjected too will raise your temperature considerably. You may find you are transported through a wormhole to the Cygnus constellation.
So yes, it is quite safe on the Tor at night.
