The main reason why I will buy this as a tech enthusiast is that I know it will get tons of custom rom support with the sheer amount of people buying it here. And with the upgraded cooling we can probably oc gpu via konabess to match a 888 in performance with comparable temps.
So the Poco F4 never was overclocked. They have never been able to truly overclock the CPUs of phones. The problem is everyone on XDA used to say that so much, people actually believed they could.
@@faithfulservantofchrist9876 yes and no? Some manufacturers keep clock speed limits and more conservative governors on stock roms to compensate for inefficient cooling and such. Many custom kernels bypass those. While we cant 'overclock' the soc in the traditional sense, we can set it to run on max clock speeds for longer. Also main reason why I only mention gpu. You can undervolt/ overvolt konabess compatible gpus and run them to their true potential provided you have the cooling solution.
Fun fact: sd870 in Poco f3 outperforms sd8 g1 in s22 ultra and Poco f4 gt in genshin impact by 20-25% it shows how after 2 years Qualcomm can't make a better chipset than 870 with Samsung manufacturing
@@hellonoitisnt393 no denial that the UI after miui 13 update got a bit junky on f3 but the gaming performance is still up there. a phone like s22u or a tablet like tab s8 can perform very well and even better when it comes to UI performance but unfortunately a chipset like sd8g1 manufactured based on Samsung's 4nm process which is only on par with tsmc's 7nm used for SD870 and this holds back the performance target of 8g1 and when it wants to hit 30% higher performance it needs like 40-50% more power which causes the phones with this chipset to get super hot and the performance throttles down and it underperforms really bad despite all expectations. the only phones that right now can handle this chip are gaming phones with proper active cooling which makes this chipset non qualified for mainstream phones

The chip is better, the problem is cooling. Eveyrone chases after having the most performance but they are stuck with the same old cooling methods, the new chips can't stay cool enough and the old cooling tech can't keep up with the heat produced by these powerhouses. Unless they come up with some new cooling methods, having more powerful chips than this is worthless, since they can't sustain that performance due to heat.
@@heisenberg7935 there's no deal breaking bugs but there's definitely a little more bugs (like 20-30%) compared to the galaxy a71 and s8+ which were my phones prior to f3 also the launcher is more like stock android so I guess it's better than regular miui launcher and it carries most of the features (I don't think there's any missing) and the gaming performance is top notch, f3 outperforms s22u in both genshin impact and Apex legends which is mind-blowing. a two year old chipset performs better than the newest chipset Qualcomm made which switching from tsmc to Samsung for manufacturing is the reason
I am having a f4and it is a great phone downplayed by f3 owners who cannot accept f4 entry. F3 is a big disappointment in proximity sensor issue. F4 is bug free atleast. Speakers are way better. Only f3 design and egornomics is better I have to agree
Flat phones are good in the palm but when the back is also flat and the phone is not slimmer, it gets uncomfortable in the hand. That's why I'm not able to use my S22 Plus anymore. It's flat at the front and the back and it's not slimmer

The Poco F3 works amazing, that proximity sensor just ruins the experience expecially now in summer, it gets triggered quite a lot just from the light...
f3 had a lot of problems with reliability as after a few updates the phone's motherboard just died and a lot of ppl were offered note pro plus instead of it, that's why they are offering 2 years of warranty this time, plus it is just such a god value makes no sense to g for greater value for the price of reliability....
Ordered 2 Poco F4 8/256GB Black phones in todays launch for a combined £528. So £264 each. Hopefully a decent upgrade from our Realme X2 Pro's which are now starting to suffer battery life issues

The most annoying thing for me is whilst I'm on a call, if someone else calls and that ends, the original call doesn't auto resume, but I assume this can be fixed using a different call app. Battery lasts me all day easily, and it's constantly connected to my Fossil Gen 6 & Soundcore Life P3s. Usually on the phone 7+ hours per day so in all honesty, it's living up to expectations so far. Fast, reliable and nothing seems to be wrong with it (for now)!

You should see the absolute hate mob on this device that is going on with the GSMarena page of Poco F4. Dumbasses left and right claiming nonsensical stuff about it like the battery performance is garbage, the screen isn't good, the camera upgrade is worthless, the SD 870 is outdated and so much more. What's even more hilarious is that most of them have a mid-range device that costs roughly the same but has a significantly weaker processor and less RAM, screen with no HDR or 120hz, worse software etc. Goes to show you how far some people are into the copium when it comes to having regrets for buying their own devices that they have to bring down such a well made device like the Poco F4. In fact, give it some time for the price to reduce and it will look like an even better deal.

Depends. F4 runs cooler and has a faster charger, but if price diff is high, its not a worthy purchase over f3. Though f4 is cheaper in India than the f3

Almost good but that camera set is so crappy. Xiaomi is insisting with this pseudo cameras with all their range currently. Useless 2mp macro and below average 8mp wide is just useless. Why not dual main camera + telephoto only and make both good? I will not replace my Poco F1 for this.

yes, battery problem is bad. looks like adaptive refresh rate is not working properly. putting it in 60hz seems to do the trick, but then it defeats the purpose of having 120hz. One thing we're waiting for is a support for android 12 with Autohz to manually set refresh rate for different app. For now, do a quick search on yt to save more battery. (this is most likely a software issue).
They should've named it the F3 Pro not the F4. This phone doesn't feel like a generational gap at all, besides it doesn't even embody the "Performance is King" idea that the F3 was built upon. It's just an Uglier F3 with a better camera, a newer MIUI and a faster charger.

Once upon a time I had a SonyXperia Arc S, moved onto moto g. After moto, I got my 1+(most exciting phone I had), I dropped it, broke the screen, couldn't unlock it, sent it to have it fixed. When it returned, it never turned back on 😮💨. Tried to charge it, no signs of life. I had to move on to my next cheap phone, Nokia. It wasn't the best, so looked around and found the Poco f1 (2nd favourite phone). And this year after carrying it around with a cracked screen, I finally broke the screen to blackness. I never learnt anything from my previous mistakes, no phone cases and no protectors, anyway I needed an emergency phone so I got another cheap phone and this time it was Samsung and now I'm looking for my next bigger better phone. I'm thinking of going big. Rog or Redmagic 😃. Go big or go home, any suggestions?
Just a quick dumb question. Does the 120hz still work on apps like TH-cam/Chrome? I'm using a 90hz redmi phone and after updating to miui 13 it slowed down drastically it could scroll at 90hz on Chrome but no longer after the update. Never on TH-cam though that was always a choppy 60hz
So its its an uglier version of the poco F3 while costing %50-60 more. the camera quality not much better. This is going to fail miserably. this was supposed to have Dimensity 8100
3:31 My Poco X3 NFC received the May android security update for 2022 a few days ago. 3:40 the finger print scanner on my POCO X3 NFC was slow and didn't always work at first too but after a few updates it now unlocks the phone immediately every time. It's very fast to work.
If they had fixed the proximity sensor of the F3 i would get this instantly since it even beats a lot of flagship smartphones, but the broken or lack of proximity sensor was a deal breaker for me which sucks because aside from that it's incredible and with gcam even the camera would look way better.
Actually it was fixed in the F3 over various recent updates. Today it works fine on mine at least, and it was terrible originally. More bothered by the green tint in dark mode in low light.
@@WildReefer F3 is not fixed, it doesn't detect if in your pocket at all. It just uses the gyroscope during calls to turn of the screen sometimes. It does not have a proximity sensor.
I no longer have issues with proximity. Mine works fine. Very rarely does it cause an issue in my pocket in my case. Their software solution appears to work fine on mine and is mostly indiscernible from a hardware sensor.
@@WildReefer if you have notifications turned on that briefly show on the screen like most phones do by default or double tap to wake turned on and if you ever walk with your phone in your pocket the issue is massive.

Flat screens are better when it comes to screen protectors, the edges of the phone make absolutely no difference at all. It's just a stupid trend started by Apple with the 12 series and now everyone else is jumping on board 🤦

I've had my F3 (8gb/256g) over a year, and am still not tempted to replace it. The 870 is great.

I've got the F3 and it really is a good phone although the camera is nothing special. Can't see the need to upgrade yet.

This phone doesn't feel like a generational gap at all, besides it doesn't even embody the "Performance is King" idea that the F3 was built upon. It's just an Uglier F3 with a better camera, a newer MIUI and a faster charger.
They are probably gonna release a "PRO" version of this phone.

Uncle spurt, curved edges have gone because it costs more to shape that stuff. Just my opinion of course but kinda makes biz sense 🤔

Once upon a time I had a SonyXperia Arc S, moved onto moto g. After moto, I got my 1+(most exciting phone I had), I dropped it, broke the screen, couldn't unlock it, sent it to have it fixed. When it returned, it never turned back on 😮💨. Tried to charge it, no signs of life. I had to move on to my next cheap phone, Nokia. It wasn't the best, so looked around and found the Poco f1 (2nd favourite phone). And this year after carrying it around with a cracked screen, I finally broke the screen to blackness. I never learnt anything from my previous mistakes, no phone cases and no protectors, anyway I needed an emergency phone so I got another cheap phone and this time it was Samsung and now I'm looking for my next bigger better phone. I'm thinking of going big. Rog or Redmagic 😃. Go big or go home, any suggestions?

Just a quick dumb question. Does the 120hz still work on apps like TH-cam/Chrome? I'm using a 90hz redmi phone and after updating to miui 13 it slowed down drastically it could scroll at 90hz on Chrome but no longer after the update. Never on TH-cam though that was always a choppy 60hz
So its its an uglier version of the poco F3 while costing %50-60 more. the camera quality not much better. This is going to fail miserably. this was supposed to have Dimensity 8100
screw you xiaomi for killing the F line. the f3 is still on sale and its Much MUCH cheaper
3:31 My Poco X3 NFC received the May android security update for 2022 a few days ago.
3:40 the finger print scanner on my POCO X3 NFC was slow and didn't always work at first too but after a few updates it now unlocks the phone immediately every time. It's very fast to work.

If they had fixed the proximity sensor of the F3 i would get this instantly since it even beats a lot of flagship smartphones, but the broken or lack of proximity sensor was a deal breaker for me which sucks because aside from that it's incredible and with gcam even the camera would look way better.
Actually it was fixed in the F3 over various recent updates. Today it works fine on mine at least, and it was terrible originally.
More bothered by the green tint in dark mode in low light.
@@WildReefer F3 is not fixed, it doesn't detect if in your pocket at all. It just uses the gyroscope during calls to turn of the screen sometimes. It does not have a proximity sensor.
Agreed, if it had a proximity sensor I would have gone for this too. Best price to performance ratio by far. The F3 is unusable due to this omission.
I no longer have issues with proximity. Mine works fine.
Very rarely does it cause an issue in my pocket in my case.
Their software solution appears to work fine on mine and is mostly indiscernible from a hardware sensor.
@@WildReefer if you have notifications turned on that briefly show on the screen like most phones do by default or double tap to wake turned on and if you ever walk with your phone in your pocket the issue is massive.

Flat screens are better when it comes to screen protectors, the edges of the phone make absolutely no difference at all. It's just a stupid trend started by Apple with the 12 series and now everyone else is jumping on board 🤦
@@sjstu "Flat edges" normally refer to the back glass or plastic. Thats doesnt affect screen protectors. I think you mean flat display, which is obviously more convenient when applying screen protectors
@@aayushsan1397 I know Samsung refers to the edge of the display as "edges". Flat sides or rails means exactly that, not an edge. An edge is where two sides meet. Where the display meets the sides in an edge. A flat edge between display and rails as opposed to curved edge is what most people understood from my post.
