    His ball-handling ability is incredible. He's never out of reach when dribbling.

    The best true PG of all time. It was great watching him play the game of basketball. Especially the way he played it. I wish him and dirk could've stayed together but watching him Marion and Stoudemire was AWESOME !!!

      Hardly the best all time, but he was fantastic.

      When you look at what you want from a PG, Nash gave you that every night on a elite level. I mean his assist/turnover ratio is amazing for him to play in this Era. Not to mention he's one of the greatest shooters ever

    • @theroseexperience
      @theroseexperience 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right off the top, John Stockton is better in every way as a pure PG and if I got into it I could find others, but there's nothing wrong with that. Nash had a fantastic, albeit, slightly overrated career. He didn't deserve that second MVP and he was a borderline turnstyle on defence as well. Still a great player and arguably a top 10 PG all time.

      TheRoseExperience I would disagree slightly. Stockton wasn't as great of a shooter and passer. He was good just not on the level of Nash. And even though he didn't get steals or blocks. Nash's defense was pretty good. Last time I checked taking charges count for defense. And he took a lot of them. Probably would've been healthy for the end of his career if he didn't. But John had the mailman on his team. I don't think The Mailman is 2nd on the all time scoring list because he had John as a point guard. As for pure PGs.. my top 3 is. .
      Nash
      Kidd
      Stockton

      The Uncle Drew Stockton was definitely a better passer as demonstrated by his assist totals. He was also a much better defensive player and while he wasn't the pure shooter Steve was, I would venture he was a better all around offensive player IMO.
      And yes, the Mailman would be the first to say that John was just as integral to him scoring as his own ability. You'd be amazed at how many PG's of the time list John as the most difficult player to match up against. Baron Davis, Payton, Marbury, etc etc all stated how good he was. Most just see the short shorts and comb over and think stooge' Stockton was a baller.

    Imagine Steve playing at his peak in today's NBA, where shooting three's is half of the offensive plays for all teams. You're basically looking at what Steve would do just by watching Steph Curry. Their games emulate each other because Nash was Steph's favorite player growing up. But if Nash shot as many 3's per game as the average NBA point guards do today, Nash would go down as one of the greatest 3point shooters in history.. Steph Curry, known as the greatest three point shooter of all time has an other-worldly CAREER 3pt percentage of 43%... guess what Steve Nash's CAREER 3pt percentage was...43%!!! The only difference obviously is that Steph Curry shoots many more threes per game than Steve ever did. But in today's game, Steve Nash would literally emulate what Steph Curry is doing now, if he had shot the amount of 3's Steph does... Plus just like Steph Curry, Steve Nash is a wizard handling and passing the ball, and getting his teammates involved... he's an even a better passer than Steph Curry is... Steve Nash would be considered an even greater point guard than he is already known for..

      What's interesting, is that when Nash shot more than x4 3PA, he was at around .455 from deep in those years. He'd probably shoot even better in today's wide-open environment.
