    Morning, Richy!
    Glad you enjoyed your recharge back home, but I'm sure a lot of us are equally excited to see you back in Thailand.
    I just love airports. Newcastle airport reminds me a lot of our major ones here in Australia. Very close in design to Brisbane.
    Is it as cold in Rome, as it was in the UK? Maybe not an issue for you being airport locked. I see a lot of the people were in all different seasonal clothing so it was hard to know. Must be a busy hub, because there were a lot of flights on the departures board.
    Wow, Abu Dabi is a nice airport! No expense spared, like Dubai! Haha, the no-sleep challenge to Bangkok was over in the lounge! It's such a long haul. 😩
    Welcome back to the land of smiles!

    • @ParkinsonRaw
      @ParkinsonRaw  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Greg it’s great to be back mate. I was only in air conditioned Rome airport for a couple of hours unfortunately, it would have being great to have a look around the city if I had time.
      Abu Dhabi is also a really nice airport much like Dubai you can spend hours wandering about there.

      @@ParkinsonRaw How much did you save by doing 3 flights? Apologies if it's mentioned later in the video still watching as I write this.

    • @ParkinsonRaw
      @ParkinsonRaw  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @jacktersey3688 hi Jack, no it’s not mentioned mate as there are so many different prices. If I went direct I would have had to go to London which is about 260 miles from where I live in Darlington. The direct flight from there would be £450 and 12hrs instead of the 19 I did. So on top of that the train to London £70 one way if I booked it early, then transport to the airport approx £25. So I basically saved £170 and also it would have taken about the same time with getting them transports to London etc.
      It’s the first time I’ve done three flights and I won’t be keen in the future, it was very tiring with little sleep.

    You're actually in the "old" 2nd terminal (at 38 minutes) albeit that section only opened around 2006....there is actually a newer terminal that just opened but not all flights depart from there just yet.....older travellers will remember the very old terminal set in a circular layout that had gold leaf right across the ceiling and about 8 gates in total.....I actually used it on Tarom (Romanian) who used to stop there for cargo load for an hour before onward to Bangkok from Bucharest....around 1994 this was so 30 years ago....its still there but normally now only domestic and short haul go from there

      I’ve been backwards and forwards for nearly a year now mate. I come on a uk visa exemption for 30 days then extend it for another month. After that I’ve been to Cambodia, Malaysia and Vietnam in between. The rules now are two land border crossings and unlimited air runs per calendar year for UK residents. There is talk about the visa exemption been extended to 90 days🤞🏻
