I am flying to Bangkok from Heathrow with Eva Air next week but the final flight destination is Taiwan - can you please explain how it works in terms of getting off/collecting checked-in luggage in Bangkok?
Hello! Sorry for the slightly late reply. So, as I've always flown only to Bangkok, I haven’t experienced the onward part of the journey. BUT, I had a look on EVA Air's website and they have the following statement in their FAQs which seems to cover your question: Will my check-in baggage be checked through to the final destination? EVA Air will check through your baggage to the final destination according to the following rules. However, if you are taking another airline and then transfer to EVA Air's flight, please contact the airline's regulations on transfer baggage: • Confirmed reservation on an onward-connection flight. • The flight transfer time is within 12 hours of departure. • The connecting flight departs from the destination airport of the previous segment. • There is an interline Baggage Agreement between EVA Air and the onward connection carrier. • The checked baggage complies with the laws and regulations of the country where the transfer takes place. • Please contact EVA Air's ground staff for information concerning relevant regulations on overnight transfer baggage. So it seems as though your checked baggage will automatically go to Taipei as long as the entire journey is purchased on one ticket and that the connection in Bangkok is no longer than 12 hours. You can check this on their website and they also have an office in London so you can call them to double check - their UK number is 020 7380 8300. From memory, they are only open Monday to Friday (office hours). The link to their website and this FAQ is: www.evaair.com/en-global/customer-services/faq/detail.html?FaqCategories=at-the-airport I hope this helps and have a wonderful journey!

@@loveflyingandhotels Thank you! This trip was my first international flight being blind. I lost majority of my sight 3 years ago. I don’t have sight in one eye and the other I have no central vision and everything is pretty blurry anyway. The crew on the flight helped me count rows ahead of me and behind me to easily locate the bathroom. They gave me emergency information in braille and one of the flight crew put tape on the screen so if I needed to call for assistance, I could easily find the location. I had to have connections between Taiwan, Thailand, and finally to Koh Samui. The crew made sure to introduce me to the next crew that would assist me and they did the same when my next connection was with another carrier because EVA doesn’t fly to the islands in Thailand. @@oooooooo347 Yes! it’s interesting as I have come across a few Thai people who have also flown either Bangkok to London or London to Bangkok, and they have flown both Thai Airways and EVA and their preference was Eva Air!. with the luggage allowance just be careful as it depends on how you book your ticket. some travel agents will specify just one bag.. I am actually flying EVA air on Monday, London, to Bangkok and I can’t wait! I already have their onboarding and landing music being played in my head!
Fair play doing this journey with only 1% vision I find it challenging being 100% sighted, how do you navigate through the terminals at Lhr/Bkk ? I know quite a few of the pavements in Thailands cities have those paving slabs with dimples on them for people with vision problems, I hope you enjoy Samui,. Cheers,.
Hello and thank you for your kind words and understanding! Actually, I cannot really navigate the airport so I request wheelchair assistance (just more easy). I could walk around myself and take hundreds of pictures of each sign, zoom in and then try and work it out but I just take the easy route! Yes, the pavements in Thailand are not the best (on small soi streets). They can be narrow with many bumps or indentations which can cause a trip. Mostly, I stay around the same area (Sukhumvit) and having visited now for 12 years I have now familiarised myself well. 12 years ago I had about 2% vision and life was great! I have occasionally bumped into a pole head on but I just act like I was intoxicated lol!. This happened as I don't walk around with a cane as I don't like everyone seeing my cane. I know that is sad. Well, I hope you enjoy the videos and thanks for getting in touch! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
will be flying eva air in december, premium economy from amsterdam to bangkok. i am however waiting for your return flight review. Love Eva air and flown them many times over the last 21 years. (You video has inspired me to do my own review of my travel to bangkok)
Hi there, that’s amazing! Will you upload it on to TH-cam? Do you have a channel? I would love to see it! Unfortunately, I was very unwell and wasn’t able to film my return flight. But The food was amazing, as was the service, and on my return flight, the USB ports worked!
@@loveflyingandhotels i am going to upload it to my channel in januari. im getting a iphone and i want to test that as a vlog device so might as well vlog my travel to asia and review @EVAAIRVIDEO . used them in the past always the economy premium. nice friendly cabin crew and service is good. im going to fly from amsterdam schiphol to bangkok. visiting my friends in asia so cant wait.
Hi! I think so! EVA Air is not the most generous when it comes to leg room, as shown on my video, but if you look at alternatives, there are not many options. EVA offers a direct flight from London and offers far better service than most airlines so it is a difficult choice to make. I would suggest trying this airline once and if possible snag the front rows. From London, the alternatives are Thai Airways and British Airways, both of which are less superior products. If you are flexible and are open to indirect flights, then you may have an alternative option.
As always, a fantastic , enjoyable and well made video. Great and useful information throughout and an enjoyable watch. I'll probably watch this a few more times before I fly!. I am flying EVA Econ in April next year, looking forward to it. Just one bit of info which some may find useful, Neither Heathrow or Bangkok have check in desks for premium economy anymore, so you have to queue with Economy, and get to Bangkok early as the queue gets very long and is not well managed. Thanks for taking the time and making the effort to put this up.
You are so kind, and thank you so much for that information. I was planning to video the return flight, but unfortunately I was feeling on well and didn’t get round to it. But if I find them again, I will definitely include that. I will say that on my return flight, the USB port didn’t work. I hope you enjoy the flight and feel free to let me know. Thoughts are. Will this be your first flight with the airline?
@@loveflyingandhotels Hi, I've been flying EVA since 1997, but switch between EVA, THAI depending upon prices. They used to fly Boeing 747 Combi's which were brilliant. upstairs was the business class area and even back then they had the 3 class set up. I've found EVA economy product the best value for money, the premium economy was also great value until the prices went sky high after covid hit. My only issue with EVA is the terrible system they have at Bangkok for check in. It gets really busy and the queue management and customer service is terrible there.
@@jammiedodger629 Yes the good old 747s! I can understand the issue at Bangkok. I’ve experienced it once out of about 8 flights but I normally miss it as I have to queue in the special assistance lane - thankfully. When I next fly I will try and give more detail about what time I arrive and show how busy it is. 😀
@@loveflyingandhotels I'm looking forward to your next report then Sir. Can I put you on the spot now? I'd be really interested to hear which is your favorite Airline to travel on for comfort and value across all the classes, long haul and short haul!. sorry to ask, but your Trip reports make it a hard choice :)
@@jammiedodger629 No not a problem. Some of the flights I’ve captured are my first flight and realistically I would like to fly them again before making a decision, but based on the flights I’ve taken I think my favourite economy class would be EVA for long haul. I haven’t flown to many other economy flights in recent years, but I have a few coming up so will be able to compare next year. EVA also, take my favour in premium economy. However, for business class, I like Qatar Airways QSuite. But again, I have more business class flights coming. In terms of first class, I’ve only flown Café, Pacific and Emirates. Whilst Emirates is luxurious and has a shower on board, the A380 and the bar, in terms of the seat, comfort and quality of food, I prefer Cathay Pacific. i’ve got a first class flight coming up with Singapore Airlines very soon so will be nice to compare. I think my favourite shorthaul airlines has to be Bangkok Airways. The seat comfort, his probably average across many shorthaul airlines, but I find the service unparalleled. If you don’t mind, I would be very interested to hear what your answer would be to the same question .
Hi! Yes it does. The airlines usually use the 2 prong headsets but if you have your own headphones with a 3.5 jack it will work in at least 1 of the 2 holes. I used my own headset 😀 hope you enjoy your flight and have a safe trip
Sometimes it may be just a few minutes but I’ve been lucky not to wait too long on the majority. But I do like this airline, I much prefer this to BA 😀
Nice nice! I hope you enjoy it! If you are flying economy, then just to say, they give those in ear headphones (I'm not a fan) so you can take you own if you like over the ear headphones. Also, not a huge western content on IFE. But gives you a chance to sleep! Enjoy!
I just read what I wrote and I should clarify - I am not trying to discourage - just giving you a heads up! I love EVA and they are in my top 5 airlines!
@duaneowens7777 11 hours ago Did they allow you go over 2kg extra? How heavy was your checked bag. I am sure there were lots of bags at the baggage claim from this flight since it was a 777
Hi, there are delays sometimes, mainly due to 2 reasons: 1) LHR being so busy and the aircraft arriving on time from BKK. It normally lands around 19:00-19:30 and the flight departing from LHR to BKK is at 21:35 - so not much time for turnaround. 2) The whether - when it is raining heavily, snow or severe fog, the flight might be a little delayed. But usually, the delay in departure is not more than 30 minutes, occasionally an hour but is generally made up in the air!
Amazing review! Made all the more impressive by the fact that you’re sight impaired I’d never have realised. I’m on this flight in November - do you think the legroom would be comfortable for someone who is 6’4?
Thank you very much for such a nice comment! in terms of legroom, I think it’s about as best as you could get. There are one or two airlines which might give you an inch or two more, but I’m not so sure about the rest of the products such as the service in food.! nothing will ever be perfect, but if you haven’t flown with them before then I think it’s worth giving them a try. I promise I’m not receiving any commission or anything for making this video, but they are just so good. If you are travelling between London and Bangkok then there are only 2 other options which are Thai Airways and British Airways both of which have less legroom than this product. It’s difficult for me to appreciate your situation as I am 5‘9“, but I hope this information helps you. If you do end up, trying this product, please feel free to let me know how it goes. I’m always interested about serious comments and experiences
Super tight ten abreast in economy with 31” pitch and 17” width . Exactly like the abominable 777-300ER’s layout @AA and UAL. Definitely nothing to be proud of.
Hi! It’s not too bad…. British Airways is the same but actually feels terrible - exactly what you are saying! But EVA doesn’t feel like it has these dimensions. The middle seat would be the worst but a window or aisle seat feels ok. 😀
Hello and thank you for your comment and subscribing. I really appreciate it.. generally speaking, you should be able to request an alcoholic beverage most of the time. I say most of the time is immediately before landing. They may refuse, but if it’s to alleviate your fears of flying, then once you take an off I would imagine they would serve you. I am actually flying with them tomorrow so I will test the water out for you and let you know on Tuesday./Wednesday. On a previous flight when returning from Bangkok to London as we approached for landing, I had asked for an alcoholic drink which was my first alcoholic drink throughout the flight, just as they were serving breakfast and they said that they are not serving alcohol then and offered the standard tea, coffee and juice or soft drinks. Am I right in thinking you would prefer to have it just after taking off and during the flight and maybe keep something ready for when it’s time to land? let me know and I will try and test out the waters for you. 😀🙏
@loveflyingandhotels wow thanks for the reply I did not expect such a quick and detailed reply 😁 yes after take off and during my flight would be the plan. The only problem I may encounter is that it is a night flight 21.35 from London Heathrow. Thank you very much 😊

I already have their onboarding and landing music being played in my head!
fantastic review, thank you 🙂
Thank you, that is very kind of you! 😀
We are travelling in April 2025 and found your video very helpful thank you
@@DarrenHolmes-q1r thank you very much and I wish you a wonderful journey 😀
same!
Flying Eva tomorrow this video is brilliant and I’m excited for what’s in store
Thank you! I hope you enjoy the flight! Feel free to share your experience😀
Great job = )
Thank you very much, that’s very kind for you to share 😀
@@RobJorg I’ll bet! please share your channel name, I would love to watch! I use iPhone 14 Pro Max and it’s very good! good luck!
We will be flying EVA next year in economy. Is the seat's leg room sufficient for my 6'2" husband?
Hi!
Very informative video, you've made me excited for my flight :)
That’s great to hear, and I really hope you enjoy your flight! 😀
I'm also excited as also flying with them in just over a weeks time!
Nice video 👌,i always fly with eva air to bkk.
Thank you! If you are flying from London, they are definitely the best option! 😀
If you want to fly on a direct flight
lovely
Thank you 😀
Does the entertainment system use 3.5mm headphone jack? Thanks for the review, will be flying with EVA next month.
Hi! Yes it does. The airlines usually use the 2 prong headsets but if you have your own headphones with a 3.5 jack it will work in at least 1 of the 2 holes. I used my own headset 😀 hope you enjoy your flight and have a safe trip
I have flown with EVA air before and think they are better than Thai Airways. I'm flying with them with EVA air now.
Agree! And, I've sat next to a few Thai locals who also say the same! Enjoy your flight! Lucky one!
Tôi mới đi du lịch canada , hãng EVA phục vụ rất tốt cảm ơn EVA !
Hello, I’m sorry but would you be able to write your comment in English?
Fantastic ❤
Thank you 🙏🤩❤️
I always find EVA leave LHR late. Not the most punctual of airlines.
Sometimes it may be just a few minutes but I’ve been lucky not to wait too long on the majority. But I do like this airline, I much prefer this to BA 😀
I’m going to book with them to bangkok in April

Did they allow you go over 2kg extra? How heavy was your checked bag. I am sure there were lots of bags at the baggage claim from this flight since it was a 777
I'm going to sum up the video with his own words... "EVA is a excellent airlines, no matter what class you fly"
I love that! That is fantastic!
Excellent 😂
Thank you very much!😀
It is pretty decent. i can't fly economy as i broke my back, so I fly business class
@@TheWelwyn21 I’m sorry to hear that. The business class is fantastic!
@loveflyingandhotels thanks for your kind words Eva is fantastic
This was as good or better than a travel show! I'm going to choose Eva for an upcoming trip now, maybe they should pay you commission! 😂
Hi are there any delay flying with Eva to BBK
@@loveflyingandhotels thanks for getting back! I will let you know how it goes 👌
@@willd4491 looking forward to it and thank you😀
@@willd4491 brilliant, looking forward to it 🤩
@willd4491 what was your experience?
There looked to be good leg room for you - what height are you please? Asking as my husband is 5'10"
@@BertieB-Jayne Hi’. Firstly, thank you for watching the video and secondly thank you for your question.. I am 5ft 9”. 😀
Hi, can I request an alcoholic beverage at any time alcohol helps with my fear of flying. Tha is great video I have subscribed 😊
Thank you very much 😊
@@marcfreeland7231 so my flight tomorrow is also the same 21:35 London to Bangkok, so it’s perfect for me to ask on your behalf! 😀
@loveflyingandhotels that is excellent thank you loads 😊 safe flight ✈️

@@loveflyingandhotels ah ok, I'm 6ft 3 so Econ might be a little tighter on the knees! But it does look better than most western carriers.
@@0tispunkm3y3r Are you flying from uK? Are you wanting a Direct flight? I would suggest premium economy, but at the moment the prices are too high. Unless you are booking almost a year ahead. Perhaps you could get the front row?
I prefer earbuds after experience Qatar's loose on ear headphones with poor quality.
@@cynthiamon5166 fair enough, I guess sometimes you could end up with an older pair. Unfortunately, but in a year headphones always falls out of my ear which is why I prefer over ear headphones. 😀
I have flown EVA many times, great aircraft, great service and staff, good value, fantastic...BUT... some idiot bean counter is making it worse lately, try getting a hot chocolate in economy, HOT CHOCOLATE for xxxx sake, not DomPerignon...I will still fly EVA but it is so ennoying to have cretins spoiling good things for you...
@@ChristianGuitard-v7f I agree they are fantastic. I’ve had a few more flights with them since making this video and I look forward to a cabin upgrade as some of the seats are showing their age and things like the power sockets and usb charging are starting to fail. When they do upgrade the hard product I am also guessing they will add more content on the IFEs😀 Once they do upgrade it will be even more amazing. I love this airline!
Are you really blind?
