  • Giving another look at repairing a broken perimeter lace on a goalie catch glove. This time it's the finger side, the more common area where we see wear.

Id love to see a full relace video. All the way around and the palm lacing holding the whole glove together. Ive got a broken lace in the palm, but scared to tackle it myself.

Question: Why would the tip of the catcher fold in when closing?

What kind of needle is that? I would like to do it myself since there aren't a lot of places here where I can get it fixed.

Where did you buy that roll of glove lace?

We order it from Nash, the lace fills up the entire spool. Lasts us quite a while.

I just ordered some today from a shop in Pennsylvania called Berk's Beer Hockey. It's hard to find places with parts these days. I just ordered a blocker palm also from them.

This method is really only good as an "on the go" repair tbh I've been restringing catch gloves for 3 years witch is not a long time. However these types of repairs are so tedious cause if you accidentally move the tee back a hole that makes the catching space smaller. its better of spending $30 ish to get it fixed by someone who knows what there doing

You forgot to mention how you would do this better.

@@GotHockeyPod Absolutely! Id start by identify were the original lace starts and ends, if you already have a lacing needle then stringing should be very simple, I would start were it begins commonly at the bottom of the finger then work your way up through the tee and pocket space, be sure the make sure its a consistent tightness throughout the finger curl make sure the tee is tighter then follow that up with once again tightness through the palm once again. As complicated as it sounds it is a very very simple job that maybe take 30 min do it with no experience! This is still a good method you got just as an emergency repair!

@@GotHockeyPod with your method your now relying on 4 knots instead of 2, and the two are in heavy were down points?

@@ryanmerccer3660 of all the gloves I've ever fixed with this problem I don't think I've ever had to fix one where the knot came undone.
