The last time a Dutch skater wasn't on the podium at 10,000m was in November 2006, in Moscow, Russia. Enrico Fabris finished 1st, Tobias Schneider 2nd and Øystein Grødum 3rd.
Just saw a neat video of a lake in downtown south Minneapolis that showed pics of speed skating in the 1920's.I've seen other videos of the pack style from the 1940's and '50's that Jordan mentioned. The pack style was at the Lake Placid games in 1932,the Americans won the races.
The 'coward' comment by Nuijs was one of admiration for Stolz, he actually said that if he 'opened up' more and dared to find his limit more he would be an even bigger threat for the rest of the field. Stolz already proved that now.
Can you guys tell how a training week of Jordan looks like? (Or any other pro skater 500-1000-1500) i’m really interested in how many hours they put in on ice and biking and weight together in the winter. Thanks
