I would love to see Oxford and Cambridge team interviews on where these students learnt all these facts which regular human beings struggle to even understand what the question being asked is in order to provide any sort of fact in the first place. Across such a wide variety of topics and question types it's almost unbelievable how they know so much STUFF!
My favorite aspect of this competition was how well the teams were rounded out... each person complimented the other with his knowledge. You could tell when someone was in their field of expertise..

When they asked the question about Mississippi I was thinking finally a question I know but no. Although for the question after it would’ve helped to know geography and geopolitical context, Tennessee borders Mississippi so when they said “well not Mississippi, Utah?” I knew it wasn’t going to be right.
I got Wales for the poets RS and Dylan, I thought of 'The Fly' but couldn't remember 'The Lord of the Flies', I got John von Neumann, I was thinking of Judy Dench but didn't come out with her name, and I got Hegel. I feel humbled by these student's knowledge though! There is nothing better in life than to know things and be enthusiastic about such knowledge.
How do they get ready for the subjetc the judge ask? do they have a list of subjetcs that are going to be taken? or they only read a lot about the differents aspects of the world xd?
It's quizbowl so the distribution of questions is the same for each match - e.g. 4 history questions, 4 literature questions, 1 each on biology, chemistry and physics

Some is taught, I knew a lot of the STEM questions from uni. The history/art/architecture/literature/political deep cuts are self taught
