- Back at the pointy end, the loudest, biggest, quickest, fastest, most powerful and most violent cars on the premises.... If those select few weren't aren't impressive enough for you, how about 7 of them equalling in excess of 70,000hp!
If you haven't ever experienced Top Fuel for yourself in person, there is no way to describe it that will come close to what actually being near them is like. It's an absolute assault on every single one of your senses, and to watch these cars accelerate from a complete stop to over 500km/h in less than 4 seconds whie pulling over 5G's doing it - and in most cases side by side all the way to the 1000ft mark... It is absolutely ridiculous to watch, to the point that your brain struggles to process how that is even physically possible, but it is, and the maniacs who voluntarily jump behind the wheel of these things love it! It's pure insanity, but we will never get sick of being around them or watching it.
Purely looking at the crowd these Fuellers draw, be it in the stands or in the pits when they fire up after disassembling and reassembling the entire engine after every single pass - there's no denying that people are in awe and that this is the pinnacle of the sport we live and breathe being Drag Racing.
We hope you enjoy this one, what an absolutely phenomenal acheivement by our local team and close friends in the Putland's - absolutely inspiring effort from the entire team to campaign a car that was right there with the teams from the East that have been doing this for a very long time now. Can't wait to watch the Putland's progress in the Top Fuel Championship this year and we are genuinely proud of all they have acheived to date.... anything from here on out is an absolute bonus!

Would have to be the definition of insanity strapping in to one of these things 😂 Scary enough to watch let alone pilot one… Never ready for that hit even though we know when they’re going full noise, complete assault on the senses!
Nothing else shakes one's skeleton as much as top fuel does.
My father got invited to bring his jet car team to Australia in the early 90's and I got to tag along. I still remember how passionate Perth fans were for drag racing and everyone I met was so incredibly friendly, I hope to go back some day

Burnouts are done at around 1/3 throttle, during 'a run' the supercharger requires about 1000 hp to operate & a failed sparkplug can hydraulic a cylinder.

its seems mustering up a full power side by side pass is still a challenge . Not much seems to have changed since the 90s, the last time I saw TF in Oz
Have seen a couple of full 1000ft side by side runs but they are rare! Hopefully next year will see more 😁👌🏼
Drag racing is not a mainstream sport in Australia and therefore we do our best from the limited sponsorship money and the wealth of the car owner, the money to become
more consistent like in the US is not possible enough said. Just been to the Western nationals at the Perth Motorlplex there was a side by side under 4 second run and a 3.82 at 320 mph a great night.
Nitro champs at Western Sydney dragway 6th May 23 was the best Top fuel racing I've seen. All runs were side by side and most finished under power .

Well presented as always mate one thing I have noticed in videos is the audio quality, it seems suppressed and muffled when your mid track, can hardly hear them idle and the burnout is quite.
Yep totally agree with you there, it’s tricky because mid track is a fair way away and the audio spikes when the cars get up to where we are, if we bump the first part of the audio up it sound a echoey and terrible but we will see what we can do for the next one as it has to be done manually for each individual clip and it takes a fair amount of time doing it! But will see what we can do 👌🏼😉

To be fair, the mic's and/or preamps are well dialed for the jump in volume to full throttle.
No distortion from the SPL just crushing the dynamic mics. At least, i presume not condenser, cuz shew buddy, 1320video checked at the stands top of some track in the USA and saw something like 140dB all the way at the top row of the bleachers.
That's gotta be a trick to dial the sound recording in on either way.
I wonder if a compressor smashes the full sound experience down too far to even be similar to the real cars noise?
Lots of impact can be lost compressing the noise floor/ceiling.

I was freaking out at the speed......... Till I seen a British flag on one of the cars and then looked at the foot note and realized it's in metric..... 😕 then converted the numbers...... Eddie Hill blew those number away back in the1990s........... the best being a 4.520 seconds at 323.74 MPH in 1999! Then, The fastest speed in a National Hot Rod Association race in the Top Fuel class is 338.94 mph (545.47 km/h), achieved by Brittany Force (USA) at the NHRA Finals on 11 November 2022 in Pomona, California, USA.
Yep, our boards here are in km/h at our track 👎🏼 All Top Fuel run to 1000ft now as the top end mph was getting a bit crazy, but they’re still ridiculously fast

Not quite 😁 This is our new track (well since 2000)… Ravenswood closed down when they opened up the Perth Motorplex in Kwinana, we do have fond memories of Ravenswood though.. grew up going there as kids!
yeap great footage good sound way better then the NHRA tv footage which you struggle to hear because the ott commentary is so bloody loud.

Don't know how old this video is or in what part of the world this was taking place at? But here in the States (U.S.) these monsters are putting out 11,000 hp and are running 3.25 ET's on the average at about 335 mph. But then again this is where it all started at.....(Nevermind this is Aussie racing (Burson Australian Top fuel Championship), my apologies. 👍

It is! I dare say it’s similar to F1 now and for safety, not all of the Top Fuellers run enclosed cockpits but there are definitely a lot more running them now… They actually look alright in our opinion 😁
There's Australia population 25million & 7 top fuel dragsters & UK,population 67million & we generally have 2 top fuel dragsters,but both are Norwegian owned. Think perhaps I should head south.

If they dropped said item that's an automatic disqualification of that certain race of qualifying or final race. There would never be a 3rd. 😮😮😮. Ok enough with the OMG. @@_erwinrommel probably because many of the cars in this video aren't finishing the full 1000ft? I've seen plenty reaching 500+ kmph on a complete run.
@@_erwinrommel The Australian top fuel record run is about 3.77 @ about 530 kmh in the USA theirs is about 3.64 @ about 538 kmh so Australia is just over a tenth slower but the USA leads the way and is faster than any where else in the world but us aussies are not far off the pace.
