Nah your not missing anything at all. What Steve is basically saying is, as well as doing his job as a ground controller, he deserves ramp pay with all the goings on that occured during that particular part of his shift. But as you know, that's Kennedy Steve for you and will be sorely missed when he retires from ATC duties.

Same company as you, so for the Speedbirds company is a British Airways Jet, for Delta company would be another Delta etc

It means the super rich, the kind of people who spend $200 Million on a boat so they can go sunbathing.

"Top 1%" is just a slang term for a private jet. As you can imagine, people who can afford to have a private jet are definitely in the top 1% in terms of their wealth. So, in this case, Steve is asking American Airlines Flight 21 (flying to Los Angeles) to follow that private jet.
