  • In this video I will show you how I built this simple and easy portable bandsaw mount for my Milwaukee 6230 saw. This design keeps your saw from being bolted down and is able to be taken portable in just a few seconds making it a versatile part of your fabrication equipment and able to be used either fixed or portable when needed. If you have any questions, please leave it in the comments and I will respond promptly. Enjoy!

    I know this is 3 years old but just wanted to say this is a really good idea. I have my Porta Band on a Swag table since I don't use it portable much any more. But just enough it is a pain to remove from the table, put the guide back on and then reverse when done. Sooooo I will be building one of these too. Thanks for the idea and plan.

      Hi Jay! Thank you for your kind words! I appreciate it very much!😊 I love having it on the wall out of the way. I use it almost everyday in my shop because I’m always building something and cutting out small parts to weld together. I will say that I occasionally will run into a time when I need to cut something longer than 8” and it will run into the wall. Sometimes I can just flip it around and finish the cut, but sometimes not. To solve this problem I made another mount that fits on the edge of my welding table and allows me to cut any length I want. When I’m done, I just put it back up on the wall mount. 👍Cheers! Don

      Hi Paul, that’s a great idea! Later I realized that one of the flaws in this design was that I couldn’t make long cuts because it hits the wall. I then made another mount that fits the edge of my welding bench for when I need to make long cuts. Your version solves this and you only need to make one mount! Nice!😁👍

      Hi Jesse! Glad you liked my solution! I use this saw almost every day since I built this mount. It used to sit in the case most of the time and now it’s one of my most used tools! I used it to trim a 2x4 yesterday that I needed for a concrete form. 😊👍

    Hello, I love your bandsaw wall mount. It’s very neat, and sturdy. I seen a lot of them, but yours is by far the best. ( you should probably patent it )... lol. But the only thing I could not figure out was how you tightened the table on the saw. Could you please send me a pic
    Of how you done it. Thank you very much! Ps. Keep the cool videos coming!!👍

    Very nice presentation and design. It would be nice to know how you attached the cam lock and how it locks to the saw.

    • @PranaTech

      Hi Bob, I just drilled and tapped the plate for the thread of the screw in the cam lock and then cut an aluminum plate out of 1/2” that acts as a spacer and gives the cam lock something to clamp against the bottom blade guide under the table. 😊👍

    opps forgot something. Hope your still monitoring comments 3 years later ;-) How did you use the roll clamp underneath. I have the 1/4" steel for the table. How does it mount and lock in with the roll clamp. Love to see what hardware you have on the underside of that 1/4" sheet. Can you leave on the stock shoe?

    what a great design! simple and effective. what does the underside of the table look like? how does it attach?

    • @PranaTech
      @PranaTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It just has a cam style pull down clamp off of a Razor scooter handlebar to pull it down tight. It does have a 5/8” spacer block as well to stabilize the clamping force. 😀👍

    How is the cam lock mounted and how does it work ? I want to make one myself

    • @PranaTech
      @PranaTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi James, I just took the cam lock and drilled and tapped the large plate for the same threads up through the fork that the blade goes through under the plate. I then made an aluminum plate about ⅜” thick that goes under the fork that the cam lock goes through. This pulls the big plate tight down against the fork. Simple little life did it in this video at 11:35 he shows how the clamp is mounted. m.th-cam.com/video/HNaNbhQJ84o/w-d-xo.html hope this helps😀👍

      Hi Bob, I used a cam clamp from the handlebars of a Razor kids scooter. 👍😁
