My son was four months behind in his studies when he decided to complete his secondary school education at home. He only worked at his assignments an average of 3 hours per day. He finished his high school leaving an entire semester ahead of his former classmates. His grades were excellent. He said that the structure in our schools was designed to fail, and the teachers spent most of their time managing behavioral issues in oversized classrooms. He accomplished more in less time at home.
It's absolutely astonishing seeing these young Finnish people speaking English close to fluently. I, an American, have been learning the Finnish language for nearly a year, and it is maddeningly difficult. I can only image that English would be equally difficult for a Finn to learn. Wow! #sisu
Andrew Jager Actually Finnish is one of the hardest languages in the world. But you're right, learning a language is always hard to do, but English is fortunately easier because it doesn't have as much stupid grammar as Finnish has and we usually start studying English at school when we're 9 years old (I was 10 but that's uncommon because I started with German when I was 9, usually English is the first language children begin to study) and continue to study it for many years, for example I have now studied English for ten years. But it's also easier than other languages because you see it everywhere. I guess you don't get to see and hear Finnish that much around you daily? :D When I'm comparing English to Swedish that I have now studied for seven years, I'm not that good at Swedish because I don't need it that much and I don't use it and Swedish is one of the official languages in Finland after all. But I'm happy that you are learning Finnish, it's a nice language and I can only imagine how hard it can be!
Well, having myself learn to read at the age of 4, and starting to learn English when I was about 7 years old, it actually wasn't all that difficult to be able to speak and understand English fluently by the age of 12-13. Only thing I'm really struggling with now is comprehending the school system and what are the mandatory schools you have to go through in other countries. However, I have noticed English isn't easy for us all, as most of my friends do know it, but many can barely speak it.
+Andrew Jager LoL I get my feelings hurt every time I deal with foreigners who speak English IN THEIR OWN COUNTRIES and I'm like, "wait... I've tried German and that pissed me off. How dare you." lol
+Andrew Jager Well, you have to understand that nobody is going to translate a book or a movie for just 5 million people. And the finish language has nothing in common with swedish or any other european language. So they are forced to learn english quickly and well.
Elite7555 Do you think that books or movies etc. are not translated into Finnish?? Of course they are and not only a couple of books and movies but a lot of them. Most of the movies I watch and the books I read are not Finnish but I watch them with Finnish subtitles and read in Finnish.... And there are naturally lots of Finnish movies and books too. We don't need to learn any language if we don't want to, you can easily live your life knowing only Finnish (we do have to study English and Swedish in school but you don't necessarily need them after that). I have only read about 3 books in English in my entire life because I wanted to try that and learn English better, but it wasn't very nice because it's still very hard and I don't think I'm gonna do that again. And I don't know why people seem to think that Finnish people are so good at English. Some people are good, but there are lots of people that are not and some don't speak it at all. Younger people are usually better but not all of them. And I know that 5 million might sound weird and really small but actually it's not. I bet our lives are not that different even when we have so much less people living here than other countries do. We speak Finnish and do everything in Finnish and we have our own Finnish culture and history and English or other languages are not part of it if you don't want that yourself (except for probably Swedish because of our history)
Asian people are very liked in Finland. They are usually here to work, and they often learn the language and melt in the culture of ours. Welcome to Finland!
the secret of the english skills is simple: people watch a lot of tv and it's not dubbed but subbed. apart from that finland is in pretty dire straits these days. practically no growth, high unemployment, no one manufactures stuff that people want to buy abroad etc..
Well the part where they told we have no homework... Usually we do. But if it's a good day there is a chance you did all of your homework at school already or you just didn't get any. And we do have exams. They just aren't standartised (probably spelled it wrong xd) like in USA. Otherwise, I find this documentary pretty accurate.
That's right. In Finland we don't have standardized tests. But that doesn't mean that we would'nt have tests at all. We do have tests/exams but they have been made by the teacher and the meaning of the test is that the teacher can see if we have learned anything. Oh and yes we do have 1 standardized test but it is at the end of upper secondary school/high school. It's like a final exam and everybody around the country do the same exam.
A kid is gonna learn as much as that kid WANTS to learn. A good teacher can teach with a stick and a dirt spot. Here in the states most kids don't wanna learn. They go to school because they have to and then to college because that's what's expected of them. If weren't for the parents, drop out rates would be even higher. Big difference between grades and learning.
I agree, but sometimes even the parents don't really care about their learning. They want their kids to stay in school, but they don't value education.
SixSentSoldiers You can say "if it weren't for the parents" but many parents think that all the work fall on the teacher's shoulders when they are the ones who need to look out for their child's knowledge. If you are a good parent and there's a bad teacher who doesn't do it's work properly then it's your job to help and support your child. People expect others to do what it's their resposabiliy, that's the problem, not just teachers (I'm not sayin that teachers should do their job but that parents can't expect teacher to do the parents job)
+John W ouch, that hurts. some of us try to be humble, but then you have the trump supporter types who make the rest of us ashamed to be american. good thing i'm moving to finland! : )
Not that far i mean their are worst countries i mean thousands of countries behind the usa i tell you the problem is latinoas and black people are an educated am not saying stupid or dumb cause no body in this world is stupid but they choose not to workhard in school so that is why it sames that the usa education is falling
Pretty much everybody can speak decent english here. We think that it is one of the most important skills to have. Even the absolute worst students can speak english well enough to hold a conversation with a foreigner. We are glad it's appreciated.
archanth In middle school about 20min per day homework, in high school about an hour or more. Of course that varies between students. Every course is tested with an exam or some kind of raport and the grade is marked on your study report. You're average has to be above a certain level to get in to high school and then university, if requirements are not met you go into a vocational/trade school after middle school. In reality kids are being tested all the time, how else would they know how they are doing.
Compared to mostly everywhere else, we have close to zero homework. In primary school I'd usually get them done in less than 10 minutes. Compared to that, an American high-school student gets a shitload of homework.
Gheiter That's interesting. It has been many years, but, other than learning my times tables, I don't recall doing any homework in primary school in Australia and England (up to age 11). After 11 (in England and Australia) it probably averaged an hour a night (mostly math, as I recall). Some subjects require more practice than others, though--math, of course, but also languages (Latin and French, neither of which were of much use outside class in Australia.). Do you do this practice *within* classes?
I went to highschool in Finland, but I didn't graduate through the "traditional" Finnish program. Rather I completed the IB (International Baccalaureate), also taught by Finnish teachers mainly, in Finnish classroooms. But compared to my national side friends, I had about 5 times more homework and, essays and tasks to complete. I also had more classes. But then the IB is "an advanced" alternative to normal highschool. Although overall I had less exams (Because in the IB, you only get tested twice a year, while in the Finnish system, you get tested every term). I do have to say though, compared to elsewhere (Having lived abroad) normal school Finns get little homework. Same goes for Swedes.
As geebeetee1, I wouldn't have heard of this documentary either if it wasn't for this upload. Now that I've seen this great documentary I feel like purchasing it legitimately to support the creators. If you read reports about the true effects of piracy, you'll see that they're actually solely beneficial. I do understand your point of view, though, and I commendate you for your polite request, and I wish it was respected by the uploader; I am glad, however, to have viewed the documentary.
Maybe it also would be of interest that "Helsingion normaalilyseo" is not a ordinary school. It's a teacher training school for Helsinki University, even though it has ordinary pupils. Their teachers are the most up to date ones.
In Germany we maybe have one of the cruellest school systems in Europe. After 4 years of elementary school we seperate the children into 3 different types of schools, from dumb to smart. So if your family is economically week and youre parents not so well educated, chances are pretty high you end up in the last type of school where you will be stigmatized. Naturally this type of school is full of migrants who will never have a chance to ascend socially. If youre parents are academics, there you go, you end up in the last type of school and make your qualification for university. This is cruel social seperation. The children never had a chance of equal education. And the "smart" kids look down on the poor. And the poor kids have no perspective and are driven into criminal activities. Naturally the ones from the last type of school will stay poor like their parents, the others will study like their parents. And for years we see these outstanding PISA results from Finland, we demand a change in the educational system...but nothing. Never touch a running system...
Elite7555 + That desciption sound so cruel and horrifying. Germans seem so smart, hardworking and capable... It's so sad that's the reality of your education. Actually, that system must be againts human rights! (Against the right of education, no discrimination and children rights)
I've taught HS Biology and Env. Science in Finland, Singapore and S. Korea; and these countries have very similar things in common; both containing a very small, homogeneous population. This has a major advantage in incorporating good cross curricular education. Countries like the US have a much larger, mixed population; this makes things much more difficult to encompass high educational standards. Also the importance of education is accentuated at an early age; not so in the US.
Can i just say, i would not of known or heard about this wonderful & educational documentary, had it not been uploaded on to TH-cam. Maybe a rethink on the Authors part? Regards & many thanks
Isn't finnish society more egalitarian so everyone receives the same education. In the UK things in society are very unequal, we have the private system, state system, independent system. If you are rich you get the best, if you live in a wealthy area you get a better education than if you live in a poorer area.
Here in Finland you don't care which school you go, they are the same. If I'm moving from Lapland (north) to Helsinki (south) the school I would go is always the closest one, no matter if your family is rich or poor.
It was in the official statistics that people from Kenya, Tanzania, and Nepal had a lower rate of unemployment than the native Finns. There might have been others as well.
That is a serious amount of homework my friend! I hope your teachers also follow up and discuss that work you've done on your own, otherwise there is no point to it.
There is more to learn about it especially about the PROCESS of QUALIFYING AS TEACHER... only 1 in 10 applicants even get into college training! and they learn 80% pedagogy, and only 20% subjects... only the stuff we teach at school, so that's easy stuff. We already learned it at school." Also, of course, this requires a sane adult population. Sane? Yes, one where the national student council has a veto right on any new law in education. When students fail... it's not them crashing out, "their fault", but the principal asks the teacher "how come the student has difficulty learning that in your class? After all, it's all easy stuff..." So, a population where people 18+ love and respect people 18-. That proves to NOT be the case in 99% of countries. Finland's rules and adults' view "We tend to see the students as our friends, like in a sports club, and our obligation to uplift them as much as possible, since they are the future of our society, the ones shaping my future too." It also means adults trust the young generation not to f#ck them over. See, That's healthy human beings. It's like the Opposite of the American, British, French worldview and practice. What's it like in your country?
Maybe I missed it, but what are their class sizes? It seems like these schools are able to run a pretty individualized program which might be difficult in overcrowded schools.
You are correct. But, the schools as they are now, are not the best places to develop socially in a positive way. Look at the bullying that goes on. His social life is less toxic, now, and he is his own person. Not the product of social engineering.
yes, thats exactly what i was thinking, but there was an article in finnish science magazine called tieteen kuvalehti about a research that shows fins having spanish blood, it had something to do with dna or something showing that our roots come from spain
You're somewhat correct in a sense that usually the Pisa results top 3 is Singapore, Hong Kong (or China I'm not sure about this) and Finland, not in that particular order but there's a consistency in the results. Now why is Finland looked upon at you might ask. I think it is because every child in Finland has the same opportunity for education. I am not familiar with the educational system of other top countries, but somewhat doubt they give the same opportunity for all their children.
"PISA most challenging test,,, Finland ranked at top of PISA exam,,, US ranked below average,, " Dear Robert A. Compton, Finns are trying to say that they believe in cooperation, collaboration not in competition. But still you are doing the same thing as americans always do: ranking, grading, who is no.1 who is no.1, the best the best? pff
Ghkjdf Hbjhffh It's spelled Freedom. And you sound ignorant as hell. All first-world countries basically have the same civil liberties or should I say "freedomes" so you can understand?
***** you can sue big companies and win 2 million american dollars that is how free we are and even if you don't win at least you can have a case and have judges listening to you
We learn plane geometry in 5th and 6h grade and those equations we learned in 4 th grade , but my country does not respect education and teachers and provides only shitty jobs for 300 euros per month ; so even if my iq is 140 i am a taxi driver in Bucharest , Romania because i can earn 4 times more than a teacher or a doctor. Shame on you ROMANIA !!!
Comparing Finland to US is absurd. Tiny mostly homogenous country while US is enormous (134 million), enormous in size, enormous immigrant populations, and religion is popular in US. Sad how a Harvard educator lacks critical thinking.
Asian countries rank well because students go through an intense and stressful school experience that often all boils down to a single standardized test that dictates where they go to college and the rest of their lives. The suicide rate is extremely high because of all the pressure, and society is extremely cutthroat. (at least in China) Finland is special because they achieve similar results, without all the stress and test-heavy culture.
*How so?, I think it's a case of the grass is always greener on the other side. Finland was once the suicide capital* *of europe. Norway is one of the most expensive places to live on earth... Sweden & Iceland just looks like you* *would die from boredom.. even so, so called "happy countries" always have an undercurrent of fear & darkness all* *of their own...*
This documentary would have been much better if the narrator didn't feel the need to "talk us through" the class room operations. Watching the teachers in action, without the constant commentary, would have been much better. Let us watch, then provide follow up comment if necessary. Dr. Wagner had the chance to observe the class room operations and form his opinion, but did not extend the same opportunity to his audience. I did not need his constant guidance to understand what was going on.
Motivation through less stress and having a good time while learning. I´d say most kids on grades 1-4 and later enjoy going to school. That is a good basis for further success in school. There is next to none competition among schools/students so there is very little feeling of inequality. As said below on comments it all is balanced towards mediocrity and that´s fine in here. No need to be the best to succeed. And that shows as a negative factor on some stats.
Well, you might have been one of those hard working students unlike me. They do give home work, but most of us just ignore it. It's not like they punish us or anything.
Are you making this point because you are interested in finding the best system for all people to work together cooperatively, and to realize their fullest potential? Or are you being unkind?
"I am money hungry and greedy producer of The Finland Phenomenom and the owner of the copyright. You have posted my film without my permission and im loosing money. You are certainly welcome to post trailer to any of my films since they are free adverts about my products, but im not gonna pay or give you any thanks for advertising my films and I think this is alright because in the end, im the only one making money out of this." - Fix'd
Stopped the video after 45 seconds. Are the students in Finland more naturally adaptable for basic educational skills? Because of culture? Family? Diet? Visits from alien abductors? All of the above?
We need more vocational education and training in America's educational system! This delusion that every child needs to go to college is insane and conveys a very disrespectful and unappreciative message to those among us who work with our hands and make it possible for the neurosurgeons of the world to get to work (thank you, mechanics!), work in an environment with operable machinery (thank you machinists and other technicians!), and not be swimming neck-high in human effluence while doing so (thank you custodians of the world!) SMH....really our system needs to pull its head out of its undercarriage and start valuing trades other than those that require a phenomenally-expensive sheepskin to practice! Not all children want to go to college, nor do they need to, nor should we expect them to want to do so!

Funny. In all other videos in TH-cam (even in those not related to Finland) Finns are being so proud of themselves (I'm from Finland!!1), but oh man when there comes this kind of all-praise-and-glory-to-Finland video, they are the first ones to say NO! Our society is a piece of zit and we have bums all over the place! That's ok, one should never stop evolving and there're always things to make better, but people typically see the bright things when they are taken away from you.
But it is a true fact what I said... I'm sure the USA could have a similar school system, but the classes will enviably be larger as some parts of the USA are so densely populated. That's all I meant. The inequality in the USA and the way in it perpetuated is something that makes me very angry and the slow to zero progress in solving it is disheartening. I believe the USA and my country has a lot to learn from all the Nordic countries.
I agree that we have a great education system in Finland but education is not valued enough. Here an example...Lets say 1 person has studied 3 to 4 years for a single profession like a construction worked and then we have another person who has done construction work for let say 3 to 6 moths and both are now unemployed, guess who has a better chance of getting a job in construction. Experience > Education...So full time work since 14 > 4 to 5 years more school...i think thats fucked up.
While our system has its advantages, it's still not magic and the system is far from perfect. Looking at the top schools in the capitol gives little knowledge of what it's like in the less-than-perfect classrooms further inland. The problems are the same as in the USA: substance abuse, bullying, broken homes and restless classrooms are all too common. We're not all PISA kids, but few are, and that seems to be enough to make the statistics. This documentary is true, but not the whole truth.
Maybe this isnt possible for the sole reason that the US is too busy having an education policy of teaching idiocy to people ....youtube .mtv and gansta rap is the education policy of the west.... the comments on this alone prove my point ten fold...
And now the mighty Finland skydived in most categories in the latest rankings. The sweet times of basking in international fame are over. All the excuses (video games, internet, junk food and whatnot) and the national self pity has been pretty gloomy to observe. With its falling economy and dismantling of the welfare system the future of this country is not looking very bright.
Skydived?? Finland is still the best in Europe. One reason why they had fallen a bit due to a strong recent immigration. Just like their fellow Sweden, Norway and Denmark experienced some decays ago.
sellammar1 That's not exactly true. Have you an idea how much effort ie. South Koreans put into school? It's not unusual to study 16 hours for straight. It's just insane, but you can clearly see it from the results.
I would not say that Finland has a very good educational system. Finns are more successful in reaching a certain level because there are very few immigrants, But the "consensus" of having the same thing for everyone is also dragging the top down. In Finland mediocrity is king, you should not stick up from the mass. There is no drive toward excellence because the whole culture revolves around that not being desirable. Very apparent even in this short clip.
well i do look like a mongol, but wish i had the text in english to link around, it was about something that u can track ur elders for tens of thousands years back with dna or something
Hah, thats not true. We are polite for other persons, maybe we dont like people who comes to Finland just to ask money on the streets, but other people is as good as people born in finland!
its an average test overall base for scoring........of course Amercia, China and other large countries will have more elite students per numbers.....elite private schools have and will continue to make the education and success and income gap worse not better.
Education doesn't have to be a competition, and it looks like Finland is the first country to recognize this...

"where students have barely any homework, are rarely tested" WHAT? Where did you get this false information about us?
How much homework and testing do you have?

Their teachers are the most up to date ones.
the US needs to adopt this education system.
Also the world
damn right
This movie grabbed me! I do believe that sooner or later Finnish education will conquer the world!
No other way for us!
Respect to you Finland! You 're exceptional country in many ways.
yeah that is really Because I live in Finland now I am student so Finland pepoel they are very very good thanks suomelaiset ihmiset mä rakastan kaikki
Elite7555 that sounds terrible system:o
Elite7555 + That desciption sound so cruel and horrifying. Germans seem so smart, hardworking and capable... It's so sad that's the reality of your education. Actually, that system must be againts human rights! (Against the right of education, no discrimination and children rights)
that's fucking terrible
I've taught HS Biology and Env. Science in Finland, Singapore and S. Korea; and these countries have very similar things in common; both containing a very small, homogeneous population. This has a major advantage in incorporating good cross curricular education. Countries like the US have a much larger, mixed population; this makes things much more difficult to encompass high educational standards.
Also the importance of education is accentuated at an early age; not so in the US.
my favorite country
because of the moomins :)
***** OMG
It's about the same amount of inequality in the US.
That's how the U.S. Is, but we don't want to admit it.
Here in Finland you don't care which school you go, they are the same. If I'm moving from Lapland (north) to Helsinki (south) the school I would go is always the closest one, no matter if your family is rich or poor.
The girls in Finland are so pretty. they don't walk around with a cake face full of makeup,
Haha thank u
.
Barely no homework? Wrong.
There is more to learn about it especially about the PROCESS of QUALIFYING AS TEACHER... only 1 in 10 applicants even get into college training! and they learn 80% pedagogy, and only 20% subjects... only the stuff we teach at school, so that's easy stuff. We already learned it at school."
Also, of course, this requires a sane adult population. Sane? Yes, one where the national student council has a veto right on any new law in education. When students fail... it's not them crashing out, "their fault", but the principal asks the teacher "how come the student has difficulty learning that in your class? After all, it's all easy stuff..."
So, a population where people 18+ love and respect people 18-.
That proves to NOT be the case in 99% of countries. Finland's rules and adults' view "We tend to see the students as our friends, like in a sports club, and our obligation to uplift them as much as possible, since they are the future of our society, the ones shaping my future too."
It also means adults trust the young generation not to f#ck them over. See, That's healthy human beings. It's like the Opposite of the American, British, French worldview and practice.
What's it like in your country?
Maybe I missed it, but what are their class sizes? It seems like these schools are able to run a pretty individualized program which might be difficult in overcrowded schools.
Class sizes in Finland are about 20-24 students.
I like the picture of the man standing in your profile.
but where are his arms ?
But still you are doing the same thing as americans always do: ranking, grading, who is no.1 who is no.1, the best the best? pff
The whole world do that only finland so stop talking about america at least they have more freedome than your country
Ghkjdf Hbjhffh It's spelled Freedom. And you sound ignorant as hell. All first-world countries basically have the same civil liberties or should I say "freedomes" so you can understand?
Patrick Collins haha really not like the usa
Ghkjdf Hbjhffh
Tell me one freedom you have that we in Finland don't.
***** you can sue big companies and win 2 million american dollars that is how free we are and even if you don't win at least you can have a case and have judges listening to you
See guys? MONEY DOESNT MATTER! U need to love what u do, or atleast like it.
What awesome teenagers. Really grounded and mature. Love.
Smithsonian.com has an article about the education in Finland, please everybody read it, kiitos.
The first comment I read below from Vegaskidd illustrate very well the lack of good education in North America!
Comparing Finland to US is absurd. Tiny mostly homogenous country while US is enormous (134 million), enormous in size, enormous immigrant populations, and religion is popular in US. Sad how a Harvard educator lacks critical thinking.
Did you even watch the video? Seems your critical thinking is lacking. They compared Finland to one (1) state in the US.
"Have barely any homework"? How much homework do others have? I certainly had my fare share of homework and I'm from Finland.
Scandanavians have a much better quality of life full-stop, definitely than the UK anyway.
Scandinavian have a much better life quality than the whole world my friend
*How so?, I think it's a case of the grass is always greener on the other side. Finland was once the suicide capital* *of europe. Norway is one of the most expensive places to live on earth... Sweden & Iceland just looks like you* *would die from boredom.. even so, so called "happy countries" always have an undercurrent of fear & darkness all* *of their own...*
Norway is also the most profitable place to live and work... Our salaries in finland are so ridiculous that i dont even want to work.
tuipale As long as your not over 50 years old ( aka youd have shit education)
anyone know which is this music?
Tietääks joku mikä on nuoriso- ja vapaa-ajanohjaaja?
Yes I did. (Sidenote: meant "fair share") What kind of school do you go to? A FInnish one?
Are you making this point because you are interested in finding the best system for all people to work together cooperatively, and to realize their fullest potential? Or are you being unkind?
so good, brazilian education...help now...
"I am money hungry and greedy producer of The Finland Phenomenom and the owner of the copyright. You have posted my film without my permission and im loosing money. You are certainly welcome to post trailer to any of my films since they are free adverts about my products, but im not gonna pay or give you any thanks for advertising my films and I think this is alright because in the end, im the only one making money out of this."

Mean while at Salisbury middle school we can barley afford toilet paper.
I want to move to Finland and raise a family there now. I wonder how they treat Asian people?
i wish i can meat a finland teatcher so that we can share experience i'm from morroco and looking dor a primary school teatcher thanks for responding
according to researches fins seem to have spanish blood, i donno how that could be possible but yeah
I'm moving to Finland
its a good film.
good work.
I was educated in Germany, which wasn't bad, either.
Stopped the video after 45 seconds. Are the students in Finland more naturally adaptable for basic educational skills? Because of culture? Family? Diet? Visits from alien abductors? All of the above?
Well now, all 10 of those blonds are 4.0 students, brovo
one of the best country in the world
Sorry, I meant to say inevitably, not enviably
Sounds like paradise to us Vnamese students :v
Guys, choose Finland when u reincarnate.

CARITAS CHRISTI URGET NOS!
That's ok, one should never stop evolving and there're always things to make better, but people typically see the bright things when they are taken away from you.
i read somwhere that koreans singaporeans and cinese hongkongers defeated finland..
Sounds extreme, no wonder their method of education is not looked upon as an awesome way to educate children. :S
We should have the same system in Sweden :/
You are lucky to even have schools there anymore. Probably they will be all burnt soon by rioting "young swedish men" ;D
xDD
I agree that we have a great education system in Finland but education is not valued enough. Here an example...Lets say 1 person has studied 3 to 4 years for a single profession like a construction worked and then we have another person who has done construction work for let say 3 to 6 moths and both are now unemployed, guess who has a better chance of getting a job in construction. Experience > Education...So full time work since 14 > 4 to 5 years more school...i think thats fucked up.
Not even good education can cure the lack of intelligence.
Finland people is very busy for Studies or for work, I'am very interested,Thank you @lilieksp - City of Bandung Republik of Indonesia.
What do you mean :D?
I'm from Finland I thought this is normal xD
spanish blood among fins, no way.
spanish are a mixed race of part european, a whole lot of Arab genes and bedouins from north Africa.
The school are smaller because Finland has a lower population density than the USA...
now your son has to work on the social part :)
It's just insane, but you can clearly see it from the results.
show me more than 3 out of 10 students in the us who are willing to learn from others... maybe you should start to solve this problem first.
Kukaan ei tiedä.
It depends on what kind of videos you have been looking at. Immature Finns often think that Finland is the "greatest country in the world".
Hi
I would not say that Finland has a very good educational system. Finns are more successful in reaching a certain level because there are very few immigrants, But the "consensus" of having the same thing for everyone is also dragging the top down. In Finland mediocrity is king, you should not stick up from the mass. There is no drive toward excellence because the whole culture revolves around that not being desirable. Very apparent even in this short clip.
well i do look like a mongol, but wish i had the text in english to link around, it was about something that u can track ur elders for tens of thousands years back with dna or something
most people in finland look like they are part Mongolian.
Hah, thats not true. We are polite for other persons, maybe we dont like people who comes to Finland just to ask money on the streets, but other people is as good as people born in finland!
its an average test overall base for scoring........of course Amercia, China and other large countries will have more elite students per numbers.....elite private schools have and will continue to make the education and success and income gap worse not better.
nice
@7:01 He'd make a lot more $$$ in the NHL!
dak ngerti aku!!!
Is there anybody in Finland that doesn't speak perfect English? :)
