Otis uses the same mini buzzer as fire service and nudge mode and Simplex uses these on remote annunciators and Simplex fire alarm panels on 4001 4002 and 4100 classic standard. Otis uses the same buzzer as nudge and fire service but uses a beep instead of the mini buzzer that Dover, Thyssendover and Thyssenkrupp until 2010-2011 or 12 replaced by Grocery Store Beep.😀😀😀😀😀
My high school has both a simplex 4100 classic and two dover impulse hydraulic elevators and were installed around the same time, there's a third service elevator, but it's an older Otis unit
It seems that Notifier also used a PMB-24 or similar variant in their super-rare SGL-1000 panel from the 80s. Take a look at NewAgeServerAlarm's Mini System Test 20 to hear & see it.
The buzzer was in the following alarm devices: Simplex 4001, 4002, 4004, 4005, 4100, 4120, Notifier SGL-1000 panels, Simplex 4601, 4602, and 4603 annunciators
@@TheCarson116 There were some 4004s with the PMB-24. th-cam.com/video/lvMQ0GatWnM/w-d-xo.html Also, all variations of the 4601 had it too. Only the first generation 4603-9101 used them.
I've seen a Dover Impulse elevator that was quite strange. 1. The 3 sign was changed out and it looks unusual 2. It's silent. No chirp, no buzz, nothing except the up and down chimes.
+Central Jersey Elevator Filmer by NJelevators Thanks! I wouldn't be surprised if Otis did use the same buzzers. Of course we can't verify that until someone gets to take a look at the guts behind an Otis car panel.
The 4005 used this buzzer as well on the older models. The newer ones use a typical piezo
Dover Buzz sounds like Simplex Fire Alarm Control Panel.
Thomas school buses also sound these when the rear door is opened.
That's cool how the Dover buzz works
3:47 - from floor 1 it went to floor 12, according to the amount of chimes!
11
That is a pretty nostalgic sound as it reminds me of a hotel from the mid 90's

Now we know what makes the dover buzz! Simplex also used some of these on their annunciators/panels
+ElevatorMan5482 ElevExperiencing Productions Yep, mentioned that in both the video and description.
Definitely need that buzzer
nice dover buzz
Dover Buzz, the best censoring sound.
Sounds like a bee
Nice!!!!! That is so awesome that you got ahold of that
+Elevation Station Productions Thanks! Yeah, it is.
how cool would it be to have a dover elevator buzzer in an alarm clock. that looks cool
How cool what's you put it in the moving arrow elevator in the screen, that is going to be so funny!!!
*Buzz!*
My high school has both a simplex 4100 classic and two dover impulse hydraulic elevators and were installed around the same time, there's a third service elevator, but it's an older Otis unit
My camp has a 2003 Dover elevator. I love the chime
Dover hasn't made any elevators since 1999/2001 so you're probably looking at a Thyssenkrupp

Pretty sure the 4004 & 4601 use a piezo instead of the PMB-24 (& as I just discovered apparently only some versions of the 4005 used the PMB-24).

"These buzzers were used on pretty much all 1980s Dover Impulse elevators."
CORRECTION: Except the ones that were relay controlled.
But I overheard somewhere that the ones with the floor passing chirp still had the buzzers for nudge mode and fire service
Gillig also uses this buzz on it's buses for the hazard lights when they are on.
Cool! Yeah, these things seem to be used all over the place.
msj191961 hey I have that at my school! And it is cool!
Even the turn signals
Thank you for sharing this information, I found a few rmb24 in Europe, here it is very difficult to see Dover elevators.
Some of these are on the simplex 4100 series panels
You know you're in a Dover when it makes it's famous BEEPs.
It also does that in older ThyssenKrupp elevators
Can you try and get Schindler MT fixtures when available and show how the chime looks and works on them?
the elevator at my school is a Dover, and it has the buzz
Yep! Most Dovers do.
msj191961 a dover impulse elevator is it not much then the buzzer
I've seen a Dover Impulse elevator that was quite strange.
1. The 3 sign was changed out and it looks unusual

We have a Dover impulse at our school.
H.F Gaming same hear
Same
Do you have an updated link to the website in the description?
Very interesting video here. My dad would know a lot about this since he worked on elevators for a long time
Why did simplex ditch the Dover buzzer. Always liked it better then the newer grocery store piezo they used on the 4606s and the newer 4603s.
I wonder if these were used for Otis
nudge mode! Anyways nice video!! Cool demonstration too!
+Central Jersey Elevator Filmer by NJelevators Thanks! I wouldn't be surprised if Otis did use the same buzzers. Of course we can't verify that until someone gets to take a look at the guts behind an Otis car panel.
+msj191961 Actually, I filmed a Dover elevator modernized by Otis and it still has the buzz, but it's only used for nudge mode
That is really interesting have such a tiny device can amplify such a sound inside the elevator, how neat is that.
Very neat! These little mini buzzers can be pretty loud sometimes. That's why they put them on fire alarm panels and stuff like that.
does a simplex 4002 have a dover buzz?
patrick's elevators yes it does
patrick's elevators of course:
Elevator floor sound
Simplex 4100 Classic button press
Edwards ESA-2000 button press
Have you heard of DeselDucy?
+chatterbox5412 Of course I have, haha. Been subscribed to him for 3 or 4 years now.
@Marty Fourre No he is not!
@@halfajob1202 He is not! Thats mean to say, though
@@halfajob1202 I'm not trying to be rude
This is actually an electromagnetic buzzer not a piezo buzzer
I've always wanted to know what a piazoe looks like
It's spelled "piezo" actually
You should hook that up to your fire alarm system
I have a collection of these little buzzers
I got a thseen Krupp in my school I love the buzz
I have a HORRIBLE Schindler RT.
So cool
What decibels is it rated at?
Not exactly sure. Probably something like 60-80 db, but doing a search for the PMB-24 might turn up an answer.
The ones at my university didn't buzz, they beeped.
What brand?
The sound is like a car horn
My school elevator is a Toshiba
Which country? I'd be surprised if America cuz Toshiba elevators are EXTREMELY RARE in the US
Cool
0:08 0:10 0:12 0:15 0:19 those dover buzz are kinda annoying
