Now this is cool, the school I attend used to have a mixed system that was full of Siemens UMMT-S17s, Wheelock 7002s, a Cerberous Pyrotronics that was a mix of a UMMT with a rectangular strobe, Siemens ZNS in Red and White and a Odd ball Siemens U-HMU-MCS that there was only 1 of in the school behind the stage. About over 2 years ago, the cerberous pyrotronic and ZNS's were replaced with Siemens speaker strobes, while the Siemens UMMTs and 7002s would stay for another year until they were replaced by more speaker strobes. The panel was and I presume to still be a Siemens XLS that is now programmed to have voice evac. FUN FACT: the U-MHU-MCS is still in the school, just deactivated.
So I just found out that my co-worker graduated from that high school and I had a friend that used to work for the company you were doing the inspection with. Small world!

I never thought that schools in 2017 would actually have those many fire alarms I remember alarms like those back in my school years but I wonder does anyone know about fire alarms goin off on the intercom with fire alarms like those there would be a leading fire alarm sound that took over the inside of the class room and outside the building I can't never find those can anyone recommend me to them please

My Middle School has Federal Signal 450E+V1971 strobes. They are in continuous. I still don't know what the panel. probably a Fire Lite panel. (maintained by SimplexGrinnel)
6:40 the alarms in the gym or whatever area you were testing in didn't seem to sound the strobes activated but I could just hear the UMMT horn strobes outside the area. EPIC FAIL!
If you are referring to 10:25, you are correct. The Simplex pulls in the high school gym are connected to a Silent Knight conventional panel that is tied into the main Siemens panel. It sometimes takes a while to activate the horn strobes but in this clip, I don't know why they didn't activate or why I included the fail in the video. Thanks for watching!
Hunter Laska Hi! That's a waterflow Sensor. It detectors the flow of water in a sprinkler pipe. It uses a flap which moves when the flow of water changes causing a switch to activate. Thanks for watching!

Brendan Stein Well, it's not all in 1 system, the silent knight panel is for the Spectralert advance. And the Siemens panel is for the Siemens, simplex, and wheelock and Spectralert classic alarms, but you are right. This system has TONS of alarms.
At 4:20 they either need to A put it the way it's supposed to so they can see the fire lettering or B get a new one but with the lettering on the bottom of the horn
I'm from England. I like American systems but my school has a hochiki esp system with an advanced mxpro5 panel and then the pe and drama building has fulleon and gent bells.
Just a question: why did some of the horns not go off and only the strobes go off while other horns did go off with their strobes? Is that a malfunction in the alarms that threatens to have the whole school system replaced with BORING Advances?
Goldenrod636 It happens when you silence the panel really fast. Most of the strobes have audible silence and some take a little bit longer to work. It doesn't happen when the system is in normal alarm. Sorry for the confusing comment. Hope this helps!

I can't imagine being at that school and if I told you that would be annoying I've had enough with the 40-50 and I don't want to be with the Simplex 4903 or whatever that is
This school has more cool alarms that my high school did. Don’t get me wrong my high school had pretty nice alarms. They had two simplex panels an old 4208 that ran the old AC horns including the old 4050s in the cafeteria and main gym and north hallway. And the kitchen had a 9308 horn. Then a 4100 that was installed in the 90s that ran 4903s and a first generation Wheelock AS. Then true alerts that were added in 2002 when they did a big addition including auxiliary gym and fitness center and new wood shop and auto shop. And new science labs. I started their in 2005 before I did they replaced the old AC horns in the field house with true alerts. As well as new pull stations in the field house and cafeteria. And replaced the old heat detectors in the cafeteria with new true alarm smoke detectors. Then in 2007 they did an other big addition and renovation to the school. The system was not replaced but they were more true alerts added in the new additions including the new library and gym and new offices and classrooms. I graduated in 2009 as far I know the old Simplex system is still there. But most of the old 4050s were replaced I believe around 2010 or 2011. I know they were still 3 4050s working left there. And they were some 4903s on the second floor that were replaced with wheelock As. But I’m not sure how much longer the system will be there for. Because the system is getting old and the last time I was there the 4100 was having some issues including the display not working. And I did see saw pictures that some L Series were installed recently including in my old classroom. So I’m thinking they are in the process of replacing the system.
Does this school have any exterior alarms? Around 8:26 I thought faintly heard what it sounds like an Wheelock AS. I heard it after I heard a click from the UMMT

It's a mix of System Sensor Spectralert classics and advances, Wheelock AS's, and Siemens UMMT's. A part of the inspection was an exterior walk-around to make sure they were all working. I wouldn't judge. My school has a plethora of different alarms. EST Genesis alarms, System Sensor L-Series (Temporal 3k and normal electral alarms) and Federal Signal 450D alarms.
U probs shouldn’t have said to disregard any alarms today, because what happened if after u have tested the alarms a fire starts, the ppl would think it was a drill.
My school is brand new Siemens speaker strobes and Firelite command panel voice Evac ms-10ud and a amplifier panel all flush mounted even the panels are built into the wall.

The U-MMTs aren't U-MMTs. They're actually U-MHUs. U-MMTs have a lower pitch than U-MHUs.

It’s an ESI IP phone system. The phone controller is connected to the PA system via standard line level audio.

Does this school have any exterior alarms? Around 8:26 I thought faintly heard what it sounds like an Wheelock AS. I heard it after I heard a click from the UMMT
CoolSimasGuy Yes, the school has outdoor alarms. I don't remember exactly how many but I'd say around 12. It's a mix of System Sensor Spectralert classics and advances, Wheelock AS's, and Siemens UMMT's. A part of the inspection was an exterior walk-around to make sure they were all working. Okay, why is there a combined system. For example, there is 1 spectralert classic and a bunch of Siemens UMMTs and simplex like why is their that much alarms in 1 school?
So the system started out with simplex Those got replaced with system sensor Classics. and those got replaced with Siemens. UMMTs
I wouldn't judge. My school has a plethora of different alarms. EST Genesis alarms, System Sensor L-Series (Temporal 3k and normal electral alarms) and Federal Signal 450D alarms.
Was the alarm at 7:16 working correctly? Didn't hear a Horn Sound.
By that time, the system was silenced. A couple NAC’s wouldn’t properly silence, but the one on camera did.

My school is brand new Siemens speaker strobes and Firelite command panel voice Evac ms-10ud and a amplifier panel all flush mounted even the panels are built into the wall.
