I know he's still doom guy for goblins, but as the story progresses, he opens up more and becomes a lil more normal. I like to imagine that this series is the closest thing he gets to therapy. I hope he returns to someone more adjusted by the end.

He did sleep with one after a run on goblins that he almost died. How it was explained was she had to to make him better. In the book it read like BS in the anime it seemed like a convenient reason to have him and priestess to sleep in a bad together. Other than that i do not think he has shared a bed other than with his sister in the novel maybe with cow girl in the flashbacks that she got into his bed with him after he fell to sleep just "to feel better". But yeah Goblin Slayer has 0 or almost 0 romance and the MC isn't dense just is way to focused on killing goblins to care.
Excluding the final arcs of most shounen I’ve watched, I’m sure I can think of 1 or 2 that the MC had a kind of relationship w a girl that isn’t just friends. Idk offhand if inuyasha is a shounen, but like, inuyasha was just short of marrying the love of his life, kikyo. Something like 52 years later he got over kikyo and her death and started developing feelings for kagome, eventually marrying her in the final season. And after having kids w her. Then there’s dragon ball. Goku got married to and had 2 kids w chi-chi way back when. Granted he did it more out of obligation then love but still. Chainsaw man. Kanji almost lost his virginity. And damned he be if he doesn’t get himself a GF. I’m sure there’s more but those come to mind.

Goblins in this world isn't a threat but is a very vicious species, going around raiding places and stealing women for breeding purposes And yes, he have trauma involving goblins in the past because if I remember correctly, those green creature raided his village and killed everyone, and only him and cow girl survived He had vengeance for them afterwards and vow to exterminate them at every chances he gets
It also doesn't help how in that world goblins breed and grow really fast, in a few months a group of 5 goblins can become a group of like 20, not to mention goblins learn learn fast and are as cunning as a young child, add in the goblins that evolve into higher species means they aren't lacking in strenght even if the average goblin is as strong as a child. Overall goblins are a small threat that very quickly spirial into larger threats when left alone and are verg difficult for newbie adventurers to deal with dispite being a newbie level quest, that is because the people who need goblins to be kill do not have enough money to actually hire better adventurers.

It wasn't. It expanded on what s1 left behind. By the end of s1 Goblin Slayer says he wants to go out more as an adventurer which he does in s2 fighting other monsters and out of a cave. He's becoming more normal and outspoken and bonding with the group
