Which is crazy for people to be snobs when you figure that a mechanical shark - the weight of a mini-submarine - on a rig in the Gulf of Mexico where there are plenty of real sharks would be totally terrifying. I'm an actor and if someone even pushed me in a tank with the original Jaws or Jaws 2 sharks, I'd flip out to maximum fliptivity. I think it would be very easy to play that terror.

Pathetic, No one knows what real acting is in horror films if you're a critic, but I'll tell you this: it's NOT what you find in the like of 'The Exorcism' & 'Rosemary's Baby'!

I was lucky enough to see Jaws as a kid in the theater in 1975 and Jaws 2 in the theater in 1978. Jaws to this day remains my all time favorite movie. Jaws 2 is a worthy follow up mainly because it retains elements from the first film including John Williams composing the music. The first record album I ever owned was the soundtrack to Jaws which I got Christmas 1976. I wanted the soundtrack to Jaws 2, but I guess I just didn't have the money, then it just disappeared from shelves. Eventually, around 1992 I got the Jaws 2 soundtrack when it was first released on CD which just so happens to also be the very first CD I ever bought.

Wow, what a cool surprise to have this interview pop up. Jaws 2 is one of my favorite childhood movies. Tina screaming "shark" after being found in the boat, was one of the best scenes in any movie, let alone a Jaws or horror movie. The scene with her and Eddie is always captivating and I've likely seen it nearly 100 times. Marge's death will always stand as one of the tougher deaths I've watched from a film.

No, not in your opinion, in truth! You don't have to pretend-things were done differently to the 1st film, you can actually SEE the attacks in this one, because the Shark could not be kept off screen, like in the original. That's a good thing!

Absolutely! 'Jaws 2' was the first one I was able to see in the theater and it was really a rite of passage, like your first James Bond or Star Wars movie. The first two Jaws movies really encapsulate '70s Americana and everyone knew a small-town sweetheart like Tina's character, so to see her just reduced to existential horror by herself in the middle of nowhere was scary and tragic. There was no way a person could ever be the same after that.

I am glad Jaws 2 is finally getting the respect as a worthy sequel to the original, which is still my all time favorite film. I was 19 in 1978 and thought Tina was drop dead gorgeous, one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen before or since. Being a huge fan of the Beach Boys, I felt that she was the very embodiment of a California Girl and the one I think of wherever I hear their song "Surfer Girl". She looks wonderful. I love Jaws 2. My friend and I used to play it with my toy boats and shark. Even had a toy I used to use as Cable junction 😂

She's so awesome. Love her points. Looks almost the same too. I'm 48 and Jaws 1+2 definitely contributed to my wariness about the ocean, though usually about all the wriggles and weird stuff in there. The main thing was a crazy situation I had when a tiny kid, when I was stuck on a rock after the tide came up and had to swim through what I can only describe as dozens or hundreds of large maggots in the water (or that's how I remember them). My mum was panicking over on the land, and it was all pretty intense! As an aside, the Jaws boardgame that came out in 2019 is good fun!

    Thankyou for this
    Jaws 2 interview series!
    I’m enjoying all of them.
Jaws 2 was a gigantic part of my childhood, and it’s still got a hold on me, 45 years later.

This is insane to me! I was tragically in love with this girl from 1980ish to 83ish as a pre puberty boy. The kind of madly in love I seldom or never have been in any other girl from tv or movies or mtv or whatever, and love in real life isn’t quite as earth shattering as that of a ten year old boy in love with a 16 year old girl. It is quite heavy.

Thank you for the lovely interview. I appreciate how much respect you provide your guests and the thoughtfulness you put into your questions and conversation. I always felt that the way Ann delivered the line "Oh mamma" after Eddie's death was heartbreaking and painfully realistic. No matter how many times I've seen the film, I still anticipate the shark leaping out of the water and ravaging the boat. Without her great performance, that scene wouldn't have been nearly as effective.

She is my favorite character in the entire film because we see her from beginning in the middle and close to the end. We follow her journey through this whole experience, and I have always been a huge fan of the film. Great interview!

I remember her from Jaws 2, plus I saw her in The Six Million Dollar Man, Buck Rogers, Eight is Enough, Remington Steele, and the last time I saw her in the movie Basic Training. After all that, she disappeared. I missed her. She was a beautiful blonde goddess. 😍🥰😍🥰

I just stumbled upon this channel. Wow great job with this interview and as a big fan of Roy Scheider it made me smile hearing Ann tell story if how he was generous and helped her in her key scene. I truly feel Roy Scheider never gets his die when people talk about the great actors of the past 50 years.

I was stoked! In Movies and tv one of the rare times that an "Eddie" got lucky beyond belief being with such a sweet cool girl but nope he was lunch.
