It is a great idea. I cut all my leftover fabrics into precuts when I am finished a project as I tend to loose track of the leftovers as they get put in a bin and are forgotten about. 🤪
Precuts assume a specific group of patterns. Cuts of 5 inches mean a short for seaming to a "10" inch block. Random size scraps mean extra seams too, so no advantage seen to precut what could have worked by leaving them alone. Ok.... they do stack nice. Is that enough?
Hi Paula!! 👋 I always watch the Missouri Star Quilt Company deals. They had all their Kona bolts on sale a couple of months ago so I got a black and a white. I wish I’d gotten a couple more. 🩵

So true! Thanks for watching! ☀️☀️☀️
I’ve been cutting my larger pieces of scraps into precuts! 10”, 5”, 5” strips and 2&1/2” strips😊
That's great! ☀️
win win win !
Thanks! ☀️☀️☀️
I did the same with some of my fabric but I also like doing the stripes so I can make my string quilts .
I absolutely LOVE string quilts! 💛💛💛
I started buying 108" for my quilts.Last time was 15 yds of black.
So glad I got it a couple of yrs ago because the prices have almost doubled.
That's great! 💛💛💛

Exactly! ☀️ I make a LOT of quilts from 10" layer cake squares, charms and jelly rolls too. Thanks for the comment. 💛
Wow… makes those bolts seem very affordable!
It sure does! 💛
genius!
Thanks! 💛
I like that your sweater matches the black and white fabric!
🤣🤣🤣. I'm glad! 💛
I haven’t thought of buying a bolt for precutting - I just may need to do this. Thank you for the tip!
You are so welcome! ☀️
Thank you Annette. I love your system. I too have been making my own precuts from my beautiful stash.
You are so welcome! 💛💛💛
Same! I just prefer to pick fabrics to go together rather than the precuts that took that fun. 😂 I have gradually gotten better cutting skills.
Wow that is a big savings! Thanks for the budget tip.
You are so welcome! 💛
Thank you for showing this.
You're welcome! ☀️

Thanks for watching! ☀️
Great idea ❤
Thank you! 😊
Great idea!
Thanks!💛
I would like to see more of the process of cutting the 2.5 inch strips. I don't use a lot of 10" squares.
Hi there! This should do the trick! Let me know if it helps. ☀️☀️☀️

And you got rid of the bolts. Yay!
Yup, bought them on sale JUST for making background pre-cuts! Stay tuned for more layer cake videos! 💛💛💛
💛
Hi Annette! Where are you getting such good prices on the bolts?

I always wash and dry my fabric first. Prevents shrinkage and color bleeding in final product.
Very nice! ☀️ I'm guessing about half of quilters do and half don't. I like the result either way! 💛💛💛
