This is when Photinias come into their own and what a lovely job 👍🏻 it’s also great when the client gardens with you i’ve got two that spend the day in the garden when I’m there and we get to bounce ideas off each other can talk about plants etc. happy days 👍🏻
Colin's Photinias look great. I always enjoy your content, we have so many of the same garden plants and invasive plants that you do, so it's always relevant information. We just had great news in Oregon, we are phasing out gas powered leaf blowers by 2026. It should improve agricultural worker's health, save their hearing, and return peace to neighborhoods!
Hi Alex & Owner Colin, Happy Saturday!!😉 When You said the Beautiful Photinia Red Robins were Reasonable at 130 Euros it`s $140.25 USA each Hedge!! I Think These Hedges Look Like Trees To Me!! Alex you have Lots of Patience with the Owner!!😍 Alex...Haha when You said Noisy Gardeners , I`m Trying To Do a Video!!🤣 Weather Alex You say it`s 18C & that is 64.4F / Me I love it a little warmer 24C & 75F I see you wore a T-Shirt Before & Now You have a Tan Line...here in USA ...It`s called " Farmers Tan " .... someone else said it before about Farmers Tan, but didn`t explain why! As for Owner Colin Helping, that was Nice..as for the 5 Photinia Red Robins..I would of Planted 4 & Give Them Some Space! Alex You did a Excellent Job, & yes Colin did Good!!❤💯I Love when You Plant Any Flowers or These Beautiful Trees!!❤ Have a Lovely Evening Alex & Family !! ❤ Love Barb from Central Illinois USA❣
Alex nice to see you in a tank top and shorts instead of being bundled up. The sun shine should do a lot for your vitamin D levels 😆. Great job creating Colin's new space.
Hi Alex, Hi Colin. Nice job. That neighbour needs to use a rake or broom. That noise is so annoying...lol I hope Gary is enjoying what he is doing, plus he is well...Miss seeing his cheeky, smiley face 😊 Stay Safe from your Tasmanian Fan ❤️🙏👍🤗
Alan Titchmarsh - there’s a name from the past! Those are lovely plants and they look perfect there! Great job - always nice to see a video from you. 😊
Nice job. I really like how you check and double-check the position and alignment with the spirit level. 🤓 As some others have said, I probably would have put four plants in that space, but that's just my preference. Quick question: did you remove the canes and ties afterwards? Some of those ties looked a little tight and it's a small detail I see in a lot of planting jobs; ties left on too long strangling the plant stem...
Greetings from the great Pacific Northwest! I loved seeing Colin with you today! What a sunny, fun day to spend the day in the garden. Is he a regular customer? Or one of your fee helps? I already love him so much. Thanks for posting this one... really loved it. Best from Washington State. 💛🖤💛 Stacy's Artful Heart
Alex, quick question for you. If I have a bed that is totally over grown with let’s say 2 to 3 foot grasses. Do you cut them first before digging out the root, or just go straight for the root and no cutting down. Thanks for the great content, really enjoy your stuff and the joking around with Gaz. I am a Brit now living in the USA and it’s so nice to enjoy the British sense of humor that you and Gary share. Thanks, it’s great to see your subscribers growing, keep up the great work. One last thing, you might want to think about your pay/charging structure being higher, in the states we average $60-70 per hour for your typical work. Those trees you removed a while back would have been approx $120 for the job where I live. There is a saying to think about, any fool can work for nothing. No offense to you of course. Later Steve
You done well mate, especially in the heat! Its been really hot the last few days.. Them other gardeners must of been blowing acres of land 🤣 Job well done there Alex 👍
Very pretty but why plant them practically on top of the fence. They’re obviously going to grow a lot and eventually damage the fence. Another foot forward would have made more sense (to me)
Ahoj! Jak jsem to sledovala, tak to není žádná legrace. Ty máš cit a sílu udělat vše pro to, aby byl zákazník spokojený! Je to perfektní! Gratuluji! 👍🌿Jana 🌿👍👋
They’re prettier than the fence? They will effectively raise the height of the fence. They will increase the amount of shade, and you can underplant them with shorter plants to add even more visual interest without crowding the fence too much. I am not a gardener, but those are the things that have occurred to me.💕🇨🇦
Having been in the business for years, Photinias would be my last choice! I hope Colin likes raking up leaves that those shurbs constantly drop year round. With the future growth and spread in that tiny space I would only have planted three of those specimens that will need to be prunned as well.
Looks nice, but IMO 3 would've been better than 5. A bit crowded in a reasonably small space, particularly when the plants grow. Also ... my pet aversion - labels left on after planting. Hope Colin removes them - AND the stakes and ties - soon.
I don’t think they take into account that these will grow bigger and the space between them will shrink and leave some fighting for root space. Cute but I think it’s over crowded.
Nice to see homeowner working with you.
Colin's a keeper. He may not sing as well as Gary but he's definitely handy. You can catch him up on the fine art of banter.
😅😅
I think Colin did most of the job 😂😂😂😂 love watching your videos. Have a great weekend. 😊

Thx for doing this, filming it and sharing it with us.
Lovely job, Colin could be the new Gary. Best wishes Christine x
I would love to have Colin on board!!
Alex nice to see you in a tank top and shorts instead of being bundled up. The sun shine should do a lot for your vitamin D levels 😆. Great job creating Colin's new space.
It is good to have the sun back 🌞

Back ground noise part of life, you know people are alive, you will get all the quiet when dead..
Those hedges are really pretty. I have never seen them here in Pennsylvania.
Thank you for the video. Beautiful trees.
Great job lads. Looks beautiful
Nicely done. Looks terrific!
Looks great 😊
By the way, in Texas they would say you have a "farmer's tan". Becky 🎉
Great job. ❤❤❤❤
Beautiful plants!
I don't know about teasing the roots, Alex, more like tickling them! 😂
Мне очень нравится смотреть Ваши видео. Удачной весенней работы
Good as always my love. Is Colin replacing Gary lol. Love the red Robins. A lovely nice day for garden. Xxxxxxxxxxx

Loved the show very much, loved Gary, miss him heaps, from Australia..

😊❤
Great job 👏 ❤😂🎉
Thanks 😅
Nice farmer's tan you have going there. I live in a rural area so we see a lot of those. Just don't get too much sun in one day.
Always wearing the sun cream!!

Hiring Colin as your new helper? 😂 He's quite helpful!
Nice trees 👍
Thanks 👍

Good job.
Thank you! Cheers!
A beautiful garden- lg or small - brings such peace ❤❤❤
18°!!! That’s freezing for Western Australia 😂. Really beautiful plants. Colin’s handy, can’t you hire him part time? 😆. Beautiful garden though.
I wish! 😅
❤
Looking good in the placement. 🎉Becky

Lovely!! Thank you 💜

Good job👍 pretty color trees
Why is "peat free" important? Great job! Thinking about Gary.
They are better for the environment!!
Peat bogs are teeming with all kinds of wildlife. Removing the peat for use in compost and other products destroys the natural habitat.
I was gardening yesterday in small country village in North Yorkshire and said exactly the same thing, how come gardens are so noisy!!

If there's a fence in place, what's the point of the hedges?
They’re prettier than the fence? They will effectively raise the height of the fence. I am not a gardener, but those are the things that have occurred to me.💕🇨🇦
@lynnjasen9727 I guess it's a garden person thingy. I just see redundancy and more cost to upkeep.
Great video beautiful trees ❤❤ Pauline. Wiltshire
Thank you 😊
That noise in the background is just Gery complaining you found a "replacement" for him so soon.
Having been in the business for years, Photinias would be my last choice! I hope Colin likes raking up leaves that those shurbs constantly drop year round. With the future growth and spread in that tiny space I would only have planted three of those specimens that will need to be prunned as well.

Why do you plant them so close to the neighbors fence. Then they have to deal with them to.
It looks like a road on the other side of the fence. So, it is for privacy and to help with noise in future, I imagine.
I don’t think they take into account that these will grow bigger and the space between them will shrink and leave some fighting for root space. Cute but I think it’s over crowded.
5 trees in the small space seems a bit much.
“They’ll grow about a foot a year” but you haven’t given them room to grow anywhere but up 🤷🏼♀️
Its a hedge so they will be all good growing up!
Job well done guys😊
Thank youuu 😁
