How come tho that Philippine players connect to JP server instead of SEA, despite being in SEA?
Low-key idk either, I just know I get matched up with a lot of jp, cn, and kr players
Philippines are even more tricky, some philippines player connected to JP and some connected to SEA, if philippines player teamed up with another philippines player, all of them will go to SEA server
but if philippines (the SEA server) play with another country (also SEA server), somehow they will slipped to JP server, Philippines is exception, idk why NE really descriminate Philippines.
Example :
Philippines (SEA) team with Indonesia(SEA) both will dragged to Japan server
that's why when I ranking, I always asking my teammate are you philippines? if yes I won't rank with them because I will lag, but if we play solo and we accidentaly meet in SEA server, no one lag, but if we teamed up, dragged to JP server, I have no idea why
@@Nubspector not really, even my friend we both play in philippines and got japanese matches and even if ur solo hunter in philippines u also get match in japanese as well

Maybe it's because of the location of the Philippines since it's close to both japan and SEA countries so it kind of affects where they connect

It must be nice to be a Japanese player if they have that big of a fanbase. Over in NA/EU, the community is so small that it takes ages to get a match in ANY TIER, not just high tier.
Also in NA/EU, way more people are playing survivor because of the bad ping. It’s incredibly difficult to win as hunter when playing with 120-200+ ms.
Doesn't matter which server to be honest...even in asian one still have ping issue,mine rise to 280+ or even 400+ immediately when I play hunter/survivor,I quit this game already cause the developers only focus on skin,new hunter,new survivors etc instead of fixing the ping....
even tho they got alot of complain from people have the issue with ping,they didn't even care about it anyway smh

China has the best ping and the best conditions. Also, it's like that for EVERY player on their servers, not only for some lucky players like on our server.

this is a really great explanation. Lag issue also doesn't help when the tier gets more competetive bc higher tier hunter always have better ping than rest of the ppl.- I didn't know the asia servers were split tho :O- great vid! :D
I actually found some Japanese hunter using this advantage to gave them some free win,
all of the survivors that like came from SEA server will get lagged automatically or even got disconnected.
This is a serious problem bcs the hunter would gave all of the survivors some free hits, and give them sum big chances of winning

Like legit, I thought my internet was bad when I receive 250ms every game and even if I play Hunter it's still 250ms until it goes higher and it's very annoying. I even upgraded my wifi and it's still 250ms and it made me delete the game and lose interested playing.
I used to have 50-68 ms before, but when I came back it becomes extremely bad. I always match with JP players everytime I got a match, it's now annoying. There's no problem in Ciphering, since I can still perfect it despite of having stable 300+ms but the thing is, I can't handle the delay like dropping the pallet/vaulting and how my characters run.

SEA players are struggling to get in high tiers cuz of the ping lol plus jp players are hella competitive

@@Nubspector I'm talking about statistics such as the total number of high tier players, population (of top tier) with a certain amount of stars, and average amount of grinding character points/badges. JP server has a greater results of stats than SEA and NA/EU.
We can't blame Netease tho in Japan. Identity V is a hit there which accounts for 80% percent of title's revenue, so they invest greater in JP compared to SEA and Na/Eu in terms of betterment of ping, products, promos, etc. It's just business.
But hey in 2019 (around season 4 or 5) I was a total noob in Identity V. In Asia server, I always get matched with JP players that makes me lag that I can't grind higher rank, so a friend who suffered from the same issue told me to switch NA/EU server. We're both in Philippines so we're surprised that NA/EU server was stable that time in our place. We never had straight green ping there but at least that server is playable that I reached mammoth close to griffin for just a season unlike when I was in Asia where I never got out on Elk.
My last active days in Identivy V (in South East Asia server) was COA IV is the main event. That time I also get matched with some JP players in mid tier but not as much as on earlier seasons. Prolly pc and mobile still a different cluster of queueing players even there's a setting for joining pc and mobile players. Atm, I don't play Idv so I might got the wrong info but still it's been a fact and official stats for years now but things like these aren't constant, right?
@@sammyp2427 Yeah I understand that, but yeah, it's annoying that they can match faster than us and can grind faster points than us, it's easier for them to get S badge than me who need to wait 30 mins on a match

I remember being connect to JP server without VPN or JP players even tho I live in Laos (which is also in SE-Asia). It was one of the worst time of my IDV career that I had to be stuck in JP server for like 2 weeks or so. None than less, NE should move the server ASAP since I also want to meet new ppl in rank (even tho there's language barrier)
WOOAHH?? After all these years, I finally understood what the heck these SEA and JP servers mean ?? Becuz of the server name itself "Asia", I would automatically think like, "huh? But aren't they both the same since its from ASIA server?" Idk why it didn't cross my mind with the same logic as there's literally NA and EU server 💀 Should've just named it SEA/JP server at this point. Thanks for the information nub, eventhough I may not play in Asia anymore. Now I can stop asking why 100-200 ping is so bad for you guys ..
NO WONDER I WAS SUFFERING FROM RED PING YESTERDAY DURING 2V8. For 2 matches we had jp players in the team and both my sister and i had red pings and lag issues. We restarted our router after the first match but the second match was still the same. I did not think that this was the case 0-0. Thank you for sharing! Really hope that netease will do something and let players play in peace.

I am not a competitive player (just play rank 3 times for free gacha) and I love this game so much! but the ping problem make me didn't enjoy this game anymore, so I close the game and watch some TH-camr playing this game HAHAHA. but this issue must be solved if Netease want the player to stay
Living in Japan doesn't really guarantee green stable ping. I am from Fukuoka and I still get yellow ping a lot of times and occasional red ping. But when I go to Tokyo, it's green ping most of the time.
I guess the center of Japan server is in Tokyo then?
@@Nubspector yes possibly. There are occasional times too when i get matched with Koreans because Fukuoka is close to SK. And it really affects my ping greatly. That's why i hate it when I'm matched with Korean players.
netass never fix the ping issue until now,I don't even care about the skin or new hunter/survivors,I do feel more blessed if the they fix the damn ping first before release hunter, survivors,skin etc..is been years
it make me wanna quit the game cause is always ping issues...can't even play properly...this is the reason why the game have low rating and is not even popular anymore like how it used to back then
Lag is quite annoying, I always admire how ppl can still continue play in high ping like normal when it’s hard.

Recently I have just flown to Hong Kong from Singapore. I suddenly met so many Japanese people and I'm not really lagging. I suspect that I'm being played in Japanese server now. (I'm afraid my friends are now)

I also hope that the adjustment between the mobile players and the PC will be made when I enter. I am playing PC. We must play with the owners of the PC only, even if we have a mobile player, as it always takes a long time to play in all phases of the game. Note that there are few Al-Pesi players in the server of Europe

I live in Australia and play on the Asia server. I think I go to the japan one judging by usernames and my ping is usually around 180. Been fighting for around a year for my first C badge on this server. Still no luck lmao

but yes, even australia is a part of SEA, NE don't include that country to be part of SEA server so yeah you will dragged to Japan server

im so used to playing with constant yellow ping since i always get dragged in JP server even tho im a SEA player that when i get green ping i feel so weird like "wooaaahhh instant reaction"
this is why im getting bored with idv. im still playing it just bcs i like my skins. i dont play rank but even in qm matches i sometimes match with the same hunter like 7x even with the surv (but rarely). it shows that only a few people play hunter in SEA. this is qm matches only ;-; i understand your pain for playing rank matches.
i tried login with vpn on japanese server, I got matched with lots of japanese player, but as soon I'm about to start matching, I stop my vpn and the game will still find match with japanese player. so you don't have to have japanese friend to get match on japanese server.
BUT, i play with 100mbps wifi at home, I still get yellow pings, it's acceptable but sometimes it gets annoying.
i dont think NE will ever fix SEA server with only 5% players. this is sad.

@@Nubspector i personally think they have to start working on lite version like what pubg did with pubg lite. So more potato phones can play idv. If they don't, SEA player will never increase above 5%.
Also another interesting thing, if you are ios player playing with android player (even if you’re both in SEA), you automatically go to Japan server for some reason. The wait time will be quick but my duo and I will automatically get 90+ ping.
i had this rm where i lagged so badly even though my ping only dipped into red occasionally. i wasn't able to do anything because of the fps drop + photographer was the hunter. i checked the match and wouldn't you know it all of three of the players i matched with (hunter included) were jp. what made the match worse was our prisoner disconnecting immediately. no ciphers were even decoded too
No matter what country my teammate is whether it be a complete SEA or some would be from JP, still my connection is extremely bad. My average connection is 170 ms and the worst ping is 634 ms - 800 ms, no cap! But still I'm still patiently waiting for the improvement of the connection here in my country. It's so annoying especially those times if I wanted to rank up. Its not just the lagging that bothers my game but also there are times that the system will suddenly kick me out during gameplay bcus of the poor connection. Almost I consider this game unplayable for my part. Its so sad for me that I can't see my full potential in playing this game and still stuck in the lower bracket. Bro, the game has a high potential to be one of the top most played Mobile Game just like ML an etc...bcus of its creativity, good story telling, and more. Hope that this will be over soon.

lmao both NAEU ping and my internet is really bad. My internet cuts out almost every 10mins so I barely get to play..

Eventhough i play with people from the same server, the ping still very highhh. So i always play solo🙂
My lowest SEA server ping is around 50-77ms and highest is 300-500ms it depends on how long my phone data can stand
My lowest sea ping is 50-70, constant ping is 250-350 and highest ping is 999-disconnection :')
I everytime play with yellow ping in other games(always on Europe),but in both Asia and Na-Eu I have 200-300 ping
Not sure if you mentioned this but I believe that the device has a role in this too bc I recently switched from a Samsung tablet to and I pad. I have the same wifi and my ping went from 230 to 160 ms. I really hope NE make the game more compatible with more devices.

I'm from Brazil and ping is really a problem. It's always around 160ms. If the hunter I'm playing against is from NA, I just can't kite...

I used to play with 120-180 ping and I live in America but Ingot my WiFi upgraded and now I have 80-90 ping : )
i get 60 ping in custom mode but in other gamemodes i get 100+ ping :(

Honestly Netease doesn't care about the ping issues, I've searched as well and stumbled upon your video since I have the same problem, I'm in NA/EU server living in the Philippines, it's not the internet tho it's the ping from the game. Genshin Impact has nicer ping than Identity V.
Generally think identity V as a game could be worked with, just not managed by a company like Ne. 😇

Well, that's really a problem. When your ping is 180-200ms it's really hard to play hunter on high ranks, bc most of the time survivors against you have a green ping. But that's Na/Eu server, no one cares about it.
So SEA server is getting bullied by NE. I think they should've fixed that. For example if more than half people in match is on SEA server, like 3vs2, than they'll give priority to them. Maybe it will be more correctly. I'm also wondering why they don't care about these problems tho. Yes, this game is not that popular outside Asia countries, I can understand their indifference to Na/Eu, but SEA? Hello?

Yeah, I see that Japanese players have 17ms to 24ms kind of ping on average
because they live in Japan and the center of the server is in Japan, ofc they get green ping
@@Nubspector I wonder where the center of the SEA server is? I live in Malaysia and my lowest ping for phone is 29ms-30+ms, while the lowest for iPad is somewhere around 20ms

This explains why sometimes I have 160 ping and then other times I have 220 .-. I have a question though, is there any way to ensure you are on SEA server all the time and not JP? When I solo queue it seems to be a hit or miss.
it's depend on where you live, SEA = SEA, JP = non-SEA

The most ridiculous game I've ever played. Download a 7gb for nothing. I live in indonesia, have the best provider, but in the game, the ping went from 150 the lowest to 900+ms. I've played many games, but nothing compared to this. Clash of clans, mobile legends, call of duty mobile, pubg mobile, etc. All smooth enough. But this one is horrendous, unplayable.
I am about thinking that they are even not care of put more money in ping and servers 🫠

Yeah but the problem with more server is less people play. IDV is already kind of small and mostly asia focused so even if that server exists there wont be enough people to even play, that's why there will never be a real fix for this
